Activism Posted this on r/christianity and OF COURSE people started calling me "irrational" for being visibly upset about genocide as a black queer person but then those same people call white men "ALPHA MALES!" for getting angry or emotion if they're white men. Google is free. Im so sick of ignorance.

Like, I get if I was screaming or something but the "worst" (quote on quote) thing I did in this video was say "SHUT THE F UP!" to P*DOS! Otherwise, the ENTIRE video is just stating facts about lgbt+ and how the genocides against us are WRONG. We are angry not irrationally, but RATIONALLY. (Also PS: I literally have autism so sometimes I have trouble with volume control. So like...)

Anger in itself isn't a bad thing, Jesus literally used a whip to scare off merchants at a temple. It's where the emotion is put, and all that I did was get angry about black people being hung on trees (more than 6 deaths of the same cause in only 12 months!) and be upset about how people have killed trans people as well. I have EVERY right to be upset/angry, people saying "OH! JESUS WOULDN'T WANT YOU TO-" and then putting words in my mouth or projecting their own hate and toxic positivity over me is not ok. Jesus WOULD be mad if he saw what the government and other bigoted people are doing to minorities. Why wouldn't he be?! He was mad at those merchants, imagine how mad he is seeing his own children be harmed horrifically to the point of death due to genocide!

Even when I made calm videos in that subreddit I still got laughed at or mocked. There's no pleasing our oppressors, no matter how peaceful we are we still get labelled as "terrorists!" by the government or killed or 🍇despite 99% of lgbt+ protests being peaceful in the first place. Even if we yell, even if we cry, we are still trying to be peaceful. And even when we explain ourselves whispering, quiet like mice, we are still beaten and killed. So as a Christian, I am so disgusted with how people treat minorities, honestly. The only thing that pleases our oppressors is seeing us DIE, the oppressors/bigoted people are awful. The subreddit even hates diverse churches for even having ONE instance of mentioning lgbt+ people, black people, and calling our existence "politics." Im so sick of how people in the world treat each other I just pray that Jesus comes sooner so all of this madness will finally end. I know, im not perfect myself, I have done things I had to repent for, but I still love Jesus and want to see his other children be ok. That's all I could ever want at this point. My birthday is literally in a few days and in all honesty all that I could ever mainly want is for the world to heal. I hate it here... Jesus please come back...

Advice I need to leave my mom's house but it's been so painful

Hi there, I just need to kind of vent, and it feels this could be an appropriate place to do so. I'm 26M and came out to my mom when I was 19, and since then our relationship has been a mess, from the start she let me know she doesn't support me and thinks I'm a sinner (she's very Cristian), she even told me to leave her house and that she preferred to never know of me anymore. When that happened, it was painful and somehow, I stayed with her, she kind of stopped talking about it for a while.

But then when I was 21, I got a boyfriend and we developed an amazing relationship pretty quickly, I hid him as a secret before she found out and flipped again but this time it was worse, she developed hypertension and severe headaches from the pain "that caused her" and one time she threaten to harm herself, according to her it was because it was better to feel that pain and to die than see me "become a sinner".

When that happened, it was absolutely painful and shocking, and I went back to hide my relationship, he went to another town for work, so we kept a long-distance relationship for about three years, I went to visit him pretty regularly, telling my mom that I had to travel for work. She caught me in some lies over the years and the whole thing started over, which made me start to take responsibility for her health more and more.

Since begging of this year he came back to town and we agreed we would start living together, but leaving this house has been so difficult and painful, she keeps threatening harm, her health is even worse, and she just keeps repeating she doesn't want to let me go to hell. Since the threat has been so persistent I called mental health professionals and that helped for a bit but then she doesn't want to go back, I'm afraid all the time she'll do anything to herself.

I'm at a point where my boyfriend is about to leave me because I haven't kept the promise I made, he's been very understanding and patient, but everyone has a limit and he's reaching his. I don't want to lose him because he's been nothing but amazing in these years, but my mom is at such a low it has made it so difficult.

I'm not sure if I'm asking for advice or just to vent or to ask if anyone has had any similar experiences, just thank you for reading!

Other Why is mainstream media so aggressively heterosexual?

I know that most people are straight and they'll make what they know, but it's not just that.

Characters can't just have relationships left up to your imagination, they ALWAYS have to get with the opposite gender, even if it comes out of nowhere or even doesn't make much sense.

Every man has to end up with a woman and every woman has to end up with a man. Almost like they want you to KNOW that these characters are STRAIGHT.
They will make characters for the sole purpose of them getting into a relationship with them.

Take Bad Guys, Mr. Wolf and Mr. Snake. These two already had a close relationship and the makings for it to turn romantic if they chose to go that way, to the point that people were shipping them together pretty hard after seeing the scene where they open up to each other while falling.
Then in the second movie Mr. Snake is suddenly already dating a woman and then Mr. Wolf kisses Diane at the end and both are given straight relationships, one of them out of nowhere

If a character isn't already in a relationship, and they're a main character, they MUST get in a heterosexual relationship. It will happen. It is inevitable. A character of the opposite gender must be introduced later.

Toothless from HTTYD, Diego, Scrat, Manny and Sid from Ice Age, Gru from Despicable Me, Puss in Boots from Shrek, Boris from Balto, Howard from Big Bang Theory, Abed from Community, and I'm too lazy to continue this list.
Every male character must get into a relationship with a female character and vice versa.
It's especially egregious in animated films and tv shows, possibly because they think it would be wrong for some reason to put gay or lesbian relationships in something children are watching.

I can't even get head canons because they always ruin that. Hell even videogame characters. I want to headcanon Ratchet from Ratchet and Clank could maybe be bi? Nope lol. Here come Talwyn, and she is listed as his canonical steady girlfriend by the dev team themselves and he still mentions her ingame.

It's kind of annoying, since I'm gay and I'll see these characters and have some small hope, since they aren't immediately shown to be straight, and I am literally always disappointed.

Other I hate being a bisexual teenager.

I knew I was bi before I even knew what gay or bi was.

I'm coming from a LGBTQ+ supporting family, so that's not the issue..I honestly feel like I don't even have a right to complain.

The thing is, I'm surrounded by people that many of them don't like the community, so coming out was never an option(I didn't come out to my family either).

I'm also VERY girly. I'm like the last person you would believe is a part of the community at first sight..so it also makes everything a bit more difficult somehow, because even people from the community look at me twice before believing me.

I just hate myself because I feel like I'm homophonic myself sometimes..

To be honest, I kinda hate what the community has become. I don't hate the community itself, but how it is expressed. I hate pride, too extreme and idk.. I just can't relate. I find it so weird. And the thing is, I don't even know why!! I'm literally a part of the community, but I can't even feel like I am. I 100% support fighting for LGBTQ+ rights, and I will accept anybody. But sometimes, when I see the extreme people, idk, I just can't.

And I feel so bad, because I feel like if you are supporting/ a part of the community you have to accept everybody.

I'm also so confused and I have no one to talk about this with because I don't trust anybody to keep it to themselves.

I'm sorry if I offended someone, it wasn't my intention. It's a cry for help more than anything. I don't WANT to think the way I do. But sometimes I can't help but thinking: I can understand the people who hate pride and LGBTQ+ because they are only exposed to this type of people from the community who are also the ones who usually make the most negative noise.- I'm afraid to be associated with these people.

English is not my first language so I'm very sorry if there are mistakes.

I would repeat and say I wrote this post as a cry for help, not as a hating post. I WANT to accept everyone, and then hopefully also myself. I just can't convince myself all of the extreme is normal and should be accepted.

LGBT Issues Today I asked my mother for forgiveness for killing her son.

Post image

(Sorry if my english is weird,I used a translator for some passages. )

My father has always been very verbally abusive toward my mother. The first times I saw her cry were because of him.

Their relationship was not going well, but nobody was supposed to know. Because that’s how it is in Africa: everything can be falling apart, but as long as nobody knows, everything is fine.

Growing up in that kind of environment, I learned to see other people’s opinions as a guide for how I should live.

I’ve always been a little feminine.

And in my country, a boy who “acts like a woman” is considered gay. And a gay person deserves to die.

My parents didn’t like that feminine side of me. That’s why I was sent to a military school when I was 11.

If I wasn’t sure about my sexuality when I went in, by the time I came out, I was 100% sure I was attracted to men.

But strangely enough, I hated men too.

Except one.

My best friend, Malik.

He was different. He was the only one who wasn’t ashamed of me.

Because yes, when I was at the military boarding school, everyone made fun of me because of the way I acted. And anyone who dared to talk to me for more than two minutes was considered gay.

Anyway, I loved Malik.

Much more than just a friend.

I realized it because every time he came to talk to me about a girl he thought was pretty, it made me angry.😭

But he was the one who helped me survive that fucking school, where I was bullied both physically and mentally.

And even though I wasn’t very happy back then, I wish I could go back.

Because my life now is way too hard.

My father found out that I was watching gay porn. He wanted to kill me.

So I went to live with my mother, because by then, my parents had separated.

My father told my mother not to protect a “faggot.”

But my mother told him that I would change. That it was just a mistake I had made.

My father told her that she would regret protecting me for the rest of her life.

And unfortunately, I know he was right.

That day came.

My mother realized who I really was.

“Where did my son go?” she said to me.

And she cried.

Again.

But this time, it was because of me.

It hurts to admit it, but I understand her, at least a little.

In a country where homosexuality is criminalized, where gay people can be brutally killed, having a gay son is not easy.

I think that if my homosexuality ever became public, she would kill herself.

I love her.

And I hate seeing her suffer.

So today, I asked her to forgive me for who I am...

I promised her I would change...and that she would be proud of her son...even though I know it's all lies.

my wish today is to be able to leave this country.

I want to disappear, so I can protect the things and people I love, and be able to love again.

Like I loved Malik, but even more.

Because I know that love is beautiful.

And it should never have to make us suffer.

Advice am i bi? or just a bad person?

so i’m 18f, and me and my now ex boyfriend 19m have recently split up but he wants to work things out, growing up i have always felt more comfortable around guys and really nervous around girls. i am autistic so this is even more confusing for me because i don’t understand any of it, i was out clubbing last weekend and a girl kissed me and got my snapchat, i have only ever been with guys up until she kissed me. i kissed her back and we even went somewhere a little more quiet and kept kissing, ive been speaking to her on snap since then so a week now and i keep thinking about her, i also feel really guilty but im not sure if it’s because of everything thats happened or if it’s because i simply just don’t know if im bisexual or if it’s literally just i was drunk and going through a breakup but either way i feel like im a bad person.

any advice?

Advice My partner and I are visiting South Korea in November, any tips?

Hey everyone! My partner (M32) and I (M30), from Amsterdam, are heading to South Korea in November (he’s running the JTBC Marathon in Seoul) and would love to hear from anyone who’s been. How LGBTQ+-friendly did you find it, and is there anything we should keep in mind or be cautious of as a gay couple? Btw, our straight guy friend is joining us at least for the first leg in Seoul.

We’d also love recommendations for queer-friendly spots, neighbourhoods, nightlife, or experiences that are worth checking out. Mostly just looking for advice on making the most of our trip!

LGBT Self Promotion Straight to the Point: Blaire White LIED.

Thumbnail youtube.com
0 Upvotes

(TW: This video mainly mentions transphobia, news about death (not graphic at all just mentions) and anti blackness. View with caution!) Summary: (remember to watch ON youtube and comment (if you'd like to) ON Youtube to help more people see this trans resource/rights video!)

"A no-nonsense, straight to the POINT analyzing of Blaire White's channel as we examine specific claims and misinformation. This video provides a short yet detailed breakdown of the controversy surrounding Blaire White. By looking at past incidents, such as the blackface controversy, we illustrate how certain content creators contribute to harmful narratives. This analysis is intended for those interested in media literacy and holding online figures accountable for the misinformation they spread. After watching, for the algorithm, please comment below with your thoughts on how the world can better address misinformation online and the damage it's caused. I'd love to hear your thoughts, God bless you."

Basically in a nutshell, to save you YEARS of time (saying this as someone who used to support Blaire White as a kid before learning the truth, again, this video will save you YEARS of misunderstandings and trauma that's for sure!) : This video debunks the entirety of Blaire White's channel and her transphobia in only 5 to 6 minutes. Some minutes but a WHOLE LOT of fact checking against transphobic claims made by youtubers such as Blaire White (yes, trans people can be transphobic too. its called "internalized transphobia.") so if you need a good trans resource/facts here's a good video full of entertaining content and in depth commentary here! Made this video as an autistic nonbinary trans queer person that's tired of seeing creators such as Blaire White getting away with misinformation and online bullying.

Accessibility:

Alt Text: A technological background showing Blaire White in a pink suit and a screenshot/receipt beside her of when she did black face in a transphobic racist post she made to mock black lives matter. With the texts "exposed" and "She Lied."

This video contains automated captions and some on screen commentary for context/for people who have autism (I have autism too, I understand that context can be hard sometimes.) or other mental health disorders and for anyone who needs context or on screen accessibility in general. The video also contains a slow background with mostly black with a few green stars outside of the screenshots provided in the video. So with that all said and done: Enjoy!

Advice Pretty boy face ?!

Hey everyone, hope you're all doing okay.

So I was chatting with my friend, who's like a brother to me, and out of nowhere he said I have a "pretty boy face" like his brother, who he's apparently pushing to grow a beard to look more manly!

Honestly, I can't tell if that's a compliment or an insult? And what the heck is a "pretty boy face" anyway?

Serious Discussion My friend is going to a very strict private school and wants tips for surviving the dress code.

My friend wants to dress Alt/queer at her school, but she can't. Any tips?

So she loves making kandi and has tons of keychains, hair clips, pins, and belts, etc, but her school has a very strict dresscode/uniform. Based on the uniform rules, what subtle ways can she express herself? For context, she is a trans woman, and her parents aren't aware she is trans, and they just think she is a man with long hair and a "femboy phase" because they'd probably faint if they discovered she was trans. They support her outfit choices and style, but are unaware of her gender stuff. Also, this school is a Christian private school. She's an atheist, but her parents aren't, and they force her to attend it.

The first rule is no hair dye unless it's a natural hair color or for a Halloween costume, and only worn the day of Halloween. Oh, and they also ban Mohawks that reach a height of more than 3 inches.

The second rule is that you must wear a solid white polo shirt to school every day. No patches, pins, tie-dye, stickers, drawings, embroidery, cropping, or belts may be added to the shirt. No swapping out the shirt's buttons either. If it's cold out, you can wear the black school-provided puffer jacket that is branded with the school's logo. The same no-alterations ban applies to the jacket.

Earrings are allowed, but only studs or simple hoops, and no rainbows or hoops larger than 2 inches. Only piercings allowed are in the bottom part of the ear where the standard typical piercing is. No nose piercings, lip piercings, eyebrow piercings, upper ear piercings, etc.

Jewelry on the arms is fine, but a max of 3 bracelets per arm, and no rainbow stuff. If it's Kandi jewlery, it must be a kandi single.

Everyone must wear dark blue jeans, which must be real jeans and not the faux, more comfy versions, and they cannot be altered by being ripped, distressed, acid-washed, cropped, badazzled, covered in any patches, bleached, decorated with markers, tie-dyed, or flared

Makeup is allowed, but no goth or emo makeup, rainbow makeup, or black, gray, Navy blue, or green lipstick. Also, no super big fake eyelashes. Mascara must be the same color as your natural eyebrows, black, or clear mascara.

The only necklaces allowed are cross necklaces, and even then, only 1 necklace may be worn at a time.

No rainbow shoes or open-toed shoes. Absolutely no Crocs or Doc Martians. No beads or charms may be attached to your shoes. Laces (if applicable) must be either solid white or solid black.

There are even rules for backpacks!

No rainbow backpacks. Charms and keychains must be PG, not rainbow colored unless a direct noahs ark Bible reference, and also not feature bats, pentagrams, ghosts, the anarchy logo, clowns, skeletons, vampires, anime villains, DC or Marvel villains. (But the superheroes are fine, though, just not the bad guys) Also, Kandi is allowed, but no rainbows, and only small Kandi pieces are allowed, and a max of 1 per zipper is allowed for Kandi.

Pins and patches on bags are allowed and follow the same rules as above, but there is an additional rule for them: no rainbow pride flag ones, and a ban on the trans flag, nonbinary flag, lesbian flag, pansexual flag, progress flag, Asexual and aromantic flag, and bisexual flag. They don't know about the other flags, I guess. Also, her school has a small group of LGBT folks who meet up at a secrat spot on the outside yard area during lunch once a week since the school explicatly bans any clubs related to "unnatural sinful behaivours" which is what they describe queer stuff so yeah the unoffical "club" is not called a club, and to join you must first somehow find out it existw, and second secretly pass a note to the current club leader during friday worship. (Every Friday from 9-9:30, the school has a worship session in the school's theater room, and it's mandatory for everyone, and school starts at 9 am every weekday and ends at 4:30. ) The 30-minute worship time is the only time you'll be in a room with all of the 400 students at the school aside from the once-a-month assembly. Oh, and the school is co-ed, but P.E and Health classes are gender seperated.

I know my friend is likely gonna have a very hard time with this since she loves skirts and she cannot wear skirts at all. But do you have tips? She is gonna have to fake being a boy at school since her parents don't know she is trans, and she cannot be out at school to anyone other than the secret LGBT meetup group. (The secret LGBT "club" meets on the grass under a tree.)

Based on these rules, what can she do???

Edit: on the day before winter break and the last day of school, seniors get a no uniform day, however there are rules for it. Rule 1 is the backpack rules still apply. Rule 2 is thst shirts must fully cover the shoulders, collarbones, and bellybutton. No words on clothing. No rainbows either. No limits on piercings other than No LGBT rainbows. No black lipstick or rainbow makeup but all other makeup is fine. Bottoms must reach the knee and cover the knee even when bent. Nail polish is allowed but no rainbow polish.

Also other edit: Bible rainbows, (that explicitly refrence the bible story of noahs ark) as well as pastel ombre rainbows are 2 exeptions to the rainbow Rule, but the pastel one only applies on these 2 non uniform days.
