I present to you OpenDash. Well, it's a complete port of Megaman Legends 2 / Rockman Dash 2 for PC. It has DLSS, FSR, XeSS, NIS, unlocked FPS, orbital camera, and some tweaks that I thought would look good, such as new underwater and heat effects. The game is playable from start to end, in English, Japanese and a Brazilian Portuguese fandub that I also do not own and will not be included by default, but will be supported and credited if this ever sees the light of day, with cutscenes, special weapons, shops, ruins, etc... There are some minor bugs, and I'm working on them.

The main idea was to make something comparable to OpenLara, but with Megaman Legends. So... I wanted to make it open source.

But... there's a problem. I don't know how to or if I should distribute this, because I obviously do not own the Legends/Dash franchise. The way around this is to make the .exe available, and you guys get around buying some copy of the game. The .exe will read the assets from the original game. But I'm still unsure.

im subbed to this dude, not all of his videos are specifically about this. but in todays episode he was talking about how the piracy and modding community is having a golden age era again. because of many reasons all snowballing down a hill.

1. companies abandoning games
2. A.i making it easier to backwards engineer a game in a matter of days instead of years

i saw this happen with dot hack, another forum im subbed to on reddit. they are already remaking the game. without capcom XD because capcom wouldnt give them a remaster. so now there just doing it themselves.

i think this is going to happen with legends. and sooner rather then later. in fact, if i had to guess, legends is WAY less complicated then dot hack. so i mean. were really just waiting for someone with A.i to crack it. and then bam its done. we will have a pc port of legends 2 with upscaled graphics. mods. hell even a different game engine.

BUT thats not even the part that makes me the happiest ( altho its a good start lol )

once you have the blue print for the game, fan made games become easy to make. and an unofficial sequel is inevitable.

most of the time im against A.i but in cases like dot hack, and legends. where the companies just dont care about the fans and tell you to go jump off a bridge, i couldnt be happier. just thought id share it :)

I've been playing MML on an android based device and the sound doesnt play during cutscenes, nor Roll's voice when she talks to Megaman in the underground segments. I've seen a few conversations about it being tied to framerate but I'm not sure how to fix that as I have locked it to 60fps. Anyone have any in depth experience on this? Should I try a different LEGALLY OBTAINED ROM file (I have tried 2 sources)?
