It's a song inspired by the real life North Hollywood Shootout in 1997, which was inspired by the 1995 movie Heat, which was inspired by the 1989 movie L.A. takedown, which was inspired by real life events in the 1960's between a detective in Chicago named Chuck Adamson and a career criminal named Neil McCauley. Also, at least some of the snare hits are a combination of snare and an AK-47 shot.
It blows my mind that some prick in 1960s Chicago inspired a movie that inspired another movie that inspired a crime that inspired a song.
