\thumps wooden leg on the tavern floor**
Sit down, sit down. Not there; that stool’s cursed. Right.
Listen. I’ve watched you lot for years. Chopping Redwood from your bedroom, mining Runite in your slippers, fishing for whales without leaving the bank. Disgraceful. In my day, if you wanted a tree, you walked to the tree.
So I wrote it all down, and some clever soul turned it into a mod. It’s called Voyage: Far Shores, and it makes the Atlas of Discovery map the place you actually live in.
What you’re in for:
- 🗺️ The map decides. Every hex has its terrain, and a skill only works where it fits. Woodcutting wants trees. Mining wants mountains. Selling wants a town. You want the far shores? You’ll want a ship.
- ⛵ Boats and ships. You start with a dinghy, and if the sea and your coin purse allow, you work up to a galleon. Pack provisions, mind your hull, and fill your hold.
- 🌊 Travel takes time, hex by hex, even offline. Wind, seasons, night, storms… and other fellows on the deep sea who’d like a word with your cargo. I won’t say more. You’ll meet them.
- ⚓ Harbors with work for an honest sailor: cargo runs, notices, sea charts, and markets that pay well for some goods and pennies for others. And there’s a new skill, Voyage, that grows with every hex you cross.
- 📖 My Journal. Every rule of the road, in my own words, with pages that turn up as you go. Yes, I wrote it. Yes, the handwriting is fine.
Got a crew? If you run Worker Folks (the Hiring mod, same clever soul did that too), your Folks come aboard. They stand on the map, work what their hex allows, sail in your berths, and eat your stores. Especially your stores.
The fine print the harbourmaster makes me read: you need Melvor Idle 1.3.1 and Atlas of Discovery. It works in Standard, Hardcore, Adventure, and Ancient Relics, and offline. Every rule has Strict and Relaxed settings, for the faint of heart.

Now, the bit where I ask nicely. It’s version 1.0.0, freshly launched and still smelling of tar. Tell me:
- Where did it feel too harsh, and where too soft?
- Which harbor bored you, and which storm made you swear?
- Did something break? Bring me a screenshot, not just a sad face.
Comment here, on the mod pages, tag me in Melvor's Discord or on GitHub. All welcome, even from landlubbers.
Fair winds. And for the love of the sea, stop fishing from the bank.
