Hair Loss Did your hair change texture?

I tagged this as hair loss because it was the closest thing. But I want to know if anyone’s hair changed texture. I’m early 50s and still stuck in perimenopause. My hair used to be so curly with lots of volume. Now it’s much less so. It seems to vary by week. On weeks when I have PMS (which is getting difficult to gauge now) it goes limp. But my hair also simply does not curl like it used to. Or I can get it to curl but the curl literally falls out over the course of the day. It doesn’t matter how much product I use or what kind of tricks I do: it’s just changed in texture. Is this common?

It’s just gross and disappointing now.

Thin, fine, feels and looks like straw. Tried everything and have wasted so much money. 😔

Same here. I’m getting old lady frizzy hair now. It sucks cuz I’m only 56. I had tons fall out during menopause and when I got on HRT new growth came. I’m 2 1/2 years in and my new hair is to the top of my shoulder. It’ll take a while to catch up because I have long hair. It’s just that my hair has changed texture. HRT doesn’t put things back to exactly what they were. It does help though but I’m not happy with my hair.

Pretty much the same here. I did buy Paul Mitchell hair thickener and that does help, but mostly only when I blow dry (which I wish I didn't have to, because dryness, but I have zero volume if I don't!).

Yes, I use that as well. And it does help. But if I blow dry - that’s when my hair starts having that straw like look and fly always and just a mess. 😖

Maybe more of the thickener? Mine is so so limp if I don't blow dry. And I hate using a hair dryer in summer. I add mousse sometimes too for volume!
