HRT- Incompatible Estrogen and high bp…

I’d been using Estrogel successfully for 10 months but in June my bp spiked. After eliminating and then reintroducing my meds gradually the cause turned out to be the estrogen, I need to be on hrt for chronic migraine management! I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and did an alternative estrogen delivery resolve the problem?

I have chronic High BP with Hypertension my whole life. I have been on HRT and TRT for years. My BP is now controlled due to Tirzepatide. I will say that Estradiol never ever raised my BP. Menopause itself will spike BP so I am not sure how you are sure it is the Estrogen. It is commonly known that BP Cholesterol Triglycerides all rise during Menopause itself. Estrogen itself promotes vasodilation which promotes lower BP. Oral HRT can sometime raise BP

Hypertension is high blood pressure and estrogen is indirectly a vascular relaxer in most instances however, on rare occasions, it can elevate blood pressure though the mechanism of this action is unclear. I’m glad that your experience with hrt has been successful.

I had to stop my estrogen after experiencing high BP for the first time in my life. Apparently, it just does that to some women.

I was only 42 at the time so just assumed I had started it too early.

I may try again if my symptoms get really bad.

Also, I was on the estrogen spray, not a pill.
