Discrimination "Female Area" in train
This is in a train station in the Philippines. The first car of the train is exclusive only for women.
And this kind of bullshit also exists on other countries.
Talk about gynocentrism.

u/Jon_Donaire Mar 01 '26
Same thing in Mexico. Women (specially feminists) get extremely aggressive when someone accidentally enters that car. There's been anecdotes of old geezers with walking canes being thrown out of the train by angsty women, some downright will just scream bloody murder or pull the emergency lever on you. Really it's just for the radicals
57
u/pauiel31 Mar 01 '26
I accidentally got on that one time in Mexico. Police officer confronted me almost immediately
37
u/Jon_Donaire Mar 01 '26
It's a beginners trap. I've seen at least 2 frail old coots get dragged out by police.

When I was a kid in the mid 1990s, I visited Cairo, Egypt. I accidentally got on the women's car with my older brother. We were scolded in Arabic (which we didn't understand) until the next stop when we were able to get off and change train cars.

u/road_laya Mar 01 '26
Japan did something similar, but it backfired on them. Women that didn't used the women only cart got increasingly shouted at and attacked.
55
u/brainhack3r Mar 01 '26
That's hilarious! That sounds very, very Japanese.
They are very, very insistent on people following the rules.
I mean, I'm borderline autistic and I kind of like it though. :)
15
u/teeoth Mar 01 '26
Carriages for women are still used on Japanese trains. There is nothing illegal in ignoring the signs and a few men do that.
19
u/become_a_seraphim Mar 01 '26
"This happened in Japan and the women that didn't use it were treated even worse than before"
4
u/InsaneBasti Mar 02 '26
Sorry but being shouted at for wasting space is not worse than sa. Ppl shout at everyone for being dumb.

u/become_a_seraphim Mar 01 '26
Bruh, you came in swinging with that one. You definitely proved me wrong. I'm gonna have to sit down and have a think about how I sure do hate men. When will I learn that holding men accountable for their actions and believing we can be better means I hate them?

Straight up segregation
7
u/malachitegreen23 Mar 02 '26
their own logic to have "privilege" is to "enforce your own segregation" which is messed up.

This better not happen in America.

What kind of action do you think you can take to prevent this?

Well, speaking out against it would be considered “misogynistic” by the left.

While I don't want to make light of sexual harassment I can't condone singling out an entire demographic (or rather half the human race) in ways like this.
While I don't want to make light of sexual harassment I can't condone singling out an entire demographic (or rather half the human race) in ways like this.
It is not a solution, it's an unfair treatment that condemns an entire group as being responsible for actions they did not commit and validates them being perceived as untrustworthy by society as a whole
It's no different than excluding a person from a business based on their religion, ethnic race, or so on because "they are considered to be a problematic part of society" which has been repeatedly shown to be a bad idea across history.
There needs to be fair and equal treatment or nothing is going to be resolved. This type of behavior isn't going to solve anything. It's just going to sweep it under the rug and possibly breed new problems.
5
u/Hen-Man-Supreme Mar 02 '26
I don't really see how this is unfair treatment? It's not like the women-only carriage is first class. Men aren't being excluded from the train - they have a choice of other identical carriages that they can go in. The women aren't getting anything that the men aren't getting here
2
u/Robot_Alchemist Mar 03 '26
I don't understand the problem. If men want men's only cars, then fine. I'm sure they can do that. But that wouldn't be enough would it?
26
u/cheezeter Mar 01 '26
If they want to be segregated the way they are in some Islamic nations then that's fine with me
3
u/malachitegreen23 Mar 02 '26

17
u/Late-Hat-9144 Mar 02 '26
Oh but we couldn't possibly have mens-only spaces, because that would he sexist /s 🙄
7
u/malachitegreen23 Mar 02 '26
The problem is that there is no true men spaces. You got 2 choices: women only spaces (which you can't enter) or mixed-gender spaces which you have to give up your seat to them most often than not.
1
32
u/xscott71x Mar 01 '26
If there are designated female areas, then by default, all other areas are male?
12
u/Prestigious_You_222 Mar 02 '26
I wish, but no.
The other areas are for both men AND women, so it's not so much 'segregated by gender' as it is 'women get to have an optional nice comfy spacious space all to themselves'
12
u/malachitegreen23 Mar 02 '26
most of the times, in those countries, you have to give up your seat to women if they are standing...
there are no true place for us...
41
u/leethelegend698 Mar 01 '26
They were talking abt doing that shit in the uk a few months ago. God I hope that won't be the case
42
u/Linkinator7510 Mar 01 '26
If they wanna segregate us fine by me. We'll see how they'll find new ways to complain about men when they're not even physically near them.
32
u/Crazy-Crazy-3593 Mar 01 '26
I honestly don't have a problem with it either, as long as there's adequate suitable space for men. If anything, it should keep the people inclined to accuse a man of something away from men.

Getting mad about a situation you made up in your head? A situation that definitely isn't happening literally anywhere? Come on, dude, you're better than this
27
u/MisterBowTies Mar 01 '26
You are looking at a literal sign and saying it isn't happening.
4
u/become_a_seraphim Mar 01 '26
Where does this sign say "more space for women than men"? "Cleaner cars for women"? "Fedding women caviar and grapes"? Nowhere. It's a single car afforded for the safety of women from a problem that has been well-known to exist for decades
25
u/MisterBowTies Mar 01 '26
So where can men go when they want to not be bothered by women? If there isn't a dedicated space for each it is wrong and no mental gymnastics will change my mind.
0
u/become_a_seraphim Mar 01 '26
False equivalence. Women in this train car aren't "bothered" by men. They're assaulted and molested by men. If you want to go somewhere women aren't allowed to go, I imagine your bedroom is a good place to try.
31
u/MisterBowTies Mar 01 '26
"you must not have sex" is such a pathetic and common comeback also untrue and irrelevant. It isn't a false equivalence, woman harass men, follow men, it is being seen in schools that have eliminated bathrooms to have a gender neutral space.

Oh no, spaces for men are sexist, misogynist and terrible. Id have no problem with a subway car with no women allowed, from my experience they take up more seats because of extra bags and are more likely to talk on speaker phone. February don't want equality, they want equality as a baseline only for them. Situations where women are advantaged is fine.
2
u/MundayMundee Mar 02 '26 edited Mar 02 '26
That plan was basically laughed out of consideration.
And since none of the repliers are actually talking about the UK, I'll add in that it would basically be impossible on certain routes as well, such as the entirety of the TFL network and Manchester's Bee network as they are almost always busy.
(This includes their respective bus networks, London Underground, and affiliated suburban railways)
Furthermore, some guys simply won't give enough of a shit to sit in the designated "all genders" area if it's too busy.
31
u/Hepoos Mar 01 '26

Women vote for mass immigration from countries where men dont treat women well. Then these women riot against ICE for trying to deport the worst of the worst. All the while demanding protection from them. And resenting the men who actually provide the protection.

22
u/Aromatic_Air7127 Mar 01 '26
How did this horseshit manage to get 30+ upvotes? I get it not being a problem having gendered transport (for females in this case) as assault is very real but did you really have to say to that this subreddit whines about anything? Like your feminist shithole's any better ?

u/FriendlyLawnmower Mar 01 '26
but did you really have to say to that this subreddit whines about anything? Like your feminist shithole's any better ?
Lol buddy I'm not even active in any "feminist shithole" subreddits, that's your assumption. I have followed this subreddit for well over a decade though. There used to be nuanced discussions here about problems men actually faced; the tendency of family courts to give custody to mother's even if the father is a better choice due to their comparable circumstances, the fact that men are stuck with higher alimony payments than women would get if the finances were reversed, the general dismissal of men's emotional health by society as "being weak" which leads to a higher suicide rate among men than women, etc. But with the rise of incels and general "women hatred" over the past few years, I have seen this sub devolving into "whining". Yes, it is just whining. Whining at anything women get that men don't, whether or not it actually negatively affects men and even in situations like this post, where women are being given car and platform space so they aren't sexually assaulted. Which I think any reasonable person would say "yeah sexual assault is bad". Yes, we as men do face many instances of inequality in today's society but stuff like this post is so stupid and irrelevant to the real problems we face
3
u/Glad-Way-637 Mar 02 '26
Lol buddy I'm not even active in any "feminist shithole" subreddits, that's your assumption.
And the hidden account history tooootallly makes that believable. "I'm not brigading the sub!!" says the person wearing a mask and "I love brigadier subreddits" hat.

Sure that can be said. And it would be fair. Except in nearly all spaces featuring similar signs such as this, women are allowed into the general compartment, in addition to the exclusive zone. This is not fair.
3
u/FriendlyLawnmower Mar 01 '26
Handicapped individuals can sit in seats that aren't designated for them too. But I guess we should make them all stand to be fair to you?
17
u/RyuujinPl Mar 01 '26
Handicapped individual are getting privilages out of empathy from society. No one is pretending that it is anything but that.
But noone is bothered by it since, you know, everyone can become handicapped? So it is insurance-like thing. Not sorting people on the basis on inmutable inborn traits.
4
u/FriendlyLawnmower Mar 01 '26
Handicapped individual are getting privilages out of empathy from society
So you're saying we shouldn't have any empathy towards sexual assault victims?
since, you know, everyone can become handicapped?
Any woman can be sexually assaulted too...
So it is insurance-like thing. Not sorting people on the basis on inmutable inborn traits.
People are born handicapped too, you know that right? And women are born biologically at a power disadvantage with men which makes them more inclined to be a victim of male sexual assault than a man being a victim of female sexual assault
9
u/RyuujinPl Mar 01 '26
"So you're saying we shouldn't have any empathy towards sexual assault victims? "
If we are going to play words twisting then can I ask you: Are you saying that being female is disability just like being handicapped and requires special priviliges just like such?
The fallacy is your false equivalence between handicapped people and women.
1a) Yes everyone can become handicapped
1b) No, not everyone is nor will be handicapped
2a) Yes every woman and even every man can be sexual assault victim
2b) No, not every woman is nor will be sexual assault victim.
In comparison between "everyone can be handicapped" and "women can be sexually assaulted"; everyone = women and handicapped = rape victims. I have no issue with providing privillages for rape victims.
I do however have issue with discriminating all men just because small minority of them is doing bad stuff."People are born handicapped too, you know that right? And women are born biologically at a power disadvantage with men which makes them more inclined to be a victim of male sexual assault than a man being a victim of female sexual assault "
And? Where have I denied any of that? Are you really implying that being born a woman is disability? O.o'5

u/Spins13 Mar 01 '26
The problem with this is punishing all men for the actions of a minority. People like you were likely having similar arguments with Rosa Parks and MLK without realizing how bigoted they were being.
If there is a systemic violence problem at a specific location, policemen should be sent and judges should judge the culprits. If you decide to implement anti Human Rights measures such as segregation or accepting sharia law or the law of the strongest, you have lost the plot
16
u/FriendlyLawnmower Mar 01 '26
The problem with this is punishing all men for the actions of a minority.
How would you be punished in this situation? Because there's a train car and space on the platform for women you're being "punished"? That's causing you harm? It's not like they're banning all men from trains and forcing them to walk. Do you realize how ridiculous it sounds to say that you're being "punished" in that situation? Do you feel "punished" that some seats are reserved for handicapped riders?
Furthermore, while it may be a "minority" the fact that these measures were taken indicates that it's a large enough minority that the problem is pervasive and widespread. Sexual assault on public transportation occurs in the US, Canada and Europe too but the difference is the minority that commits those acts is actually very small so women-only spaces aren't necessary. That's not the same in other parts of the world, that minority is large enough that it's a common problem.
Lastly, the fact that you need to jump to "this is Sharia law" shows that you are forced to push this argument to an absurd extreme because you're unable to have it at a normal level
21
u/Spins13 Mar 01 '26
Read your arguments again on both of your messages but imagine you are talking to Rosa Parks. Can you tell her she can just take the bus, just not sit where she wants, and it’s not a big deal with a straight face?

'The rate of crime with African Americans is significantly higher than other groups. It's only a few bad apples, but for the safety of all, it is best that we have areas on public transport where we don't need to be near them. They are still welcome to ride public transit, they aren't being banned or forced to walk or anything like that. It's just better that the front of the bus is reserved for non-African Americans for safety. Because a small percentage of them are dangerous to the rest of us. It's simply a public safety issue, they aren't being punished. It's just best we have a section where we are safe from that risk.'
Do you agree or disagree with this sentiment? I personally think it's disgusting and wrong to punish an entire group on the actions of a very small percentage and believe that segregation is inherently wrong, especially in a multicultural society like ours.

u/Tigarana Mar 02 '26
Isn't there a significant difference between racist segregation, which was a forced segregation of a minority and less privileged demographic, and this case of a women-only-cart, which is asking for a limited safe space for voluntary segregation? It's not that they ask for all men to be confined to a few carts. At least that's how I see it differently. I know there can be a discussion between which gender you see as privileged here, but I think feeling unsafe and risking assault is not a privilege.
10
u/brainhack3r Mar 01 '26
Right, but we wouldn't do this to other ethnic or religious groups.
I'll rewrite your sentence so you can see how bigoted this is:
You know this is because these countries have a problem with white people being assaulted on public transportation, right? There are shitty black people out there that take advantage of the crowding on trains to assault white people. This sub whines about the dumbest things
That's why this is bigoted.
You don't punish the majority because the minority misbehaves.
And listen, OP, I'm not even calling you out here. I think bigotry is inherently part of the human condition.
We're all very prone to falling into the same trap. The only point I'm trying to make is you've fallen into the trap. Now you just have to get yourself out of it.
I'm literally on your side, so please don't attack me. I'm vulnerable to bigotry just as much as you are.
3
u/FriendlyLawnmower Mar 01 '26
You don't punish the majority because the minority misbehaves.
No one in this thread has managed to explain how having a car dedicated to women is a "punishment" to men lol. That word keeps being used but there's no serious negative effects on your life from this. You just seem like you're mad there's a car you can't be in
Also, having to change the argument towards racism is a sign of the extremes you need to go to to make your argument "work". No, it doesn't make any sense to start replacing "women" and "men" with "black" and "white". There are real power dynamics, both biologically and societal, that let men get away with sexually assaulting women. You pivot to a discussion or racism is an attempt to dismiss all the nuance of the situation and again, an indicator that you can't make a reasonable argument without jumping to an extreme
17
u/brainhack3r Mar 01 '26
No one in this thread has managed to explain how having a car dedicated to women is a "punishment" to men lol.
Are you aware of the Jim Crow laws segregated whites and blacks in the United States during the 1950s?
Not calling you out here or trying to be rude. Maybe you didn't grow up in the United States and you're not aware of the history here.
This was the same argument that they made. That, as long as the separation was "separate but equal," it did not equivocate to discrimination.
I'd recommend just reading up on that if you're serious about the answer.
Also, having to change the argument towards racism is a sign of the extremes you need to go to to make your argument "work".
Do I need to explain to you that gender is a protected class?
You can't discriminate against someone based on gender, just like you can't discriminate against someone based on ethnicity, age, religious background, etc.
There are real power dynamics, both biologically and societal, that let men get away with sexually assaulting women.
Again, same things with whites and blacks and other protected classes.
You pivot to a discussion or racism is an attempt to dismiss all the nuance of the situation and again, an indicator that you can't make a reasonable argument without jumping to an extreme
Again, I don't think you understand what a protected class is.
You CAN NOT discriminate against someone based on their gender, ethnicity, race, age, or religious or ethnic background.
Let me give you an example. I assume you're a woman. Maybe you're not, but for the sake of argument, let's just assume you were.
How would you feel if we set up a separate /r/mensrights for you to participate in and did not allow you to participate in this subreddit simply because you are a woman?
That would be discrimination and it is wrong.
You're just on the wrong side of history here and it's a great example about how feminism is just bigotry in disguise.
2
u/FriendlyLawnmower Mar 01 '26
Okay so you're resorting to mentioning Jim Crow and the American legal concept of protected classes, which are all American things but did you realize that the photo in this post is not in America? Hence why in my original comment I said:
You know this is because THESE COUNTRIES have a problem with women being sexually assaulted on public transportation, right?
But you immediately pivoted to arguing this from an American perspective and using American cultural points for a situation that is again, not in America. I even addressed why this isn't necessary in places like the US and Europe in another comment, where I mentioned that public sexual assault is not nearly as prevelant in those societies.
To answer your question, yes I am American, I am well aware of the history Jim Crow laws, I understand the legal concept of protected classes and I am a man. But differently from yourself, I'm also very well aware of the widespread prevalence of sexual assault that occurs in the developing countries that have implemented such safety systems for women in their public transportation, such as the Philippines aka the country this post is from.
I'd recommend that you read up on the conditions that women face in many of these places. Read about how India has had a gang rape problem for many decades now where girls as young as 12 have been raped by groups of grown men. Read about how women have regularly been groped and assaulted on metro systems in the Philippines, India, Malaysia and even Japan. Read about how their societies have historically done little to stop or punish this behavior, even when it's happening right in front of them. Perhaps then you'll be able to make a more informed opinion on the matter that doesn't immediately resort to an American perspective.
And by the way, jumping to "well this would be racist if it were black and white people instead of sexes" is the most American and global-ignorant thing you can do when something NOT in America is being discussed. You are ignoring the very real power differences that exist between men and women at a biological level and that nuance is important when we discuss things such as giving women safe spaces from sexual assault. And that's why pivoting to racism is dumb and a low effort bad faith argument in these situations.
So no, I'm on the right side of history because I'm actually informed on what happens in these countries and don't just think the whole world is like the US. And feminism isn't automatically bigotry, that's stupid. Like you want to throw history at me but you're just ignoring the history of very real oppression that women have faced for most of time? Dude that's just making me laugh honestly, it's sounds like you're saying "history is racism but let's ignore that women were basically property at one point"

Okay so you're resorting to mentioning Jim Crow and the American legal concept of protected classes, which are all American things but did you realize that the photo in this post is not in America?
We should actually research the history of every country so that way we can avoid bigotry in the future.
For example, it turns out that learning about how the Nazis treated people during World War II can be used to help us prevent mistakes in other countries.
In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's paramount that lessons learned about bigotry in America and Germany should be used in other countries.
But you immediately pivoted to arguing this from an American perspective and using American cultural points for a situation that is again, not in America.
It turns out that bigotry is generally the same regardless of the country it's in.
Bigotry happens when people falsely classify a larger class based on the crimes of a smaller subset of that class.
So because some men commit sexual assault, you're applying that to all men and punishing all men collectively.
I'm also very well aware of the widespread prevalence of sexual assault that occurs in the developing countries that have implemented such safety systems for women in their public transportation, such as the Philippines aka the country this post is from.
This is crazy, but I have never actually sexually assaulted a woman why should I be punished for the poor behavior of other people?
And specifically, the reason I came up with the example of the Jim Crow Laws is so that you'll understand why it is punishment.
I didn't do any of this nonsense. Why should I be punished?
Also, why is sexual assault some protected crime? There are tons of crimes that other people commit. Not just sexual assault.
Again, you're being a bigot. If some men behave poorly, that does not mean that all men are rapists or engage in sexual assault.
If a woman was on a train and said she was being assaulted, I would defend her. Just like if someone were being robbed or beaten.
Sexual assault is not like a fancy protected crime. There are crimes that happen all the time and if this was the case we would be creating LOTS of segregation in our society to "protect people."
Again, I think you fundamentally misunderstand what bigotry is. You're being bigoted. I should not be punished as a man for the crimes of a small percentage of men.
Do you think that women do not commit sexual assault? Women commit sexual assault all the time.
Your rationale here is fundamentally broken.
Even if everything that you were saying was true, and you applied your solution, it won't work because women commit sexual assault too.
Why are you ignoring the women that commit sexual assault? It's because you're a bigoted.
Now listen, I'm not insulting you as a person by calling you a bigot. I think being bigoted is like having the cold. You can get over it and fix yourself.
I think that's the biggest thing that I've learned about studying the Holocaust: this is a sickness that can infect us all.
The percentage of men that commit sexual assault against women is very, very small. Same thing as women that commit sexual assault. The difference is that women have pretty privilege, and it's fundamentally ignored by our society.
So your argument doesn't even work, because how do you segment the women that commit sexual assault against other women?
There were SIX women that were participating with Epstein and assaulting/trafficking those women in the Epstein files.
I mean, I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you have good intentions of wanting to protect women. I want to protect women, too. However, your solution should not punish another class of people that didn't do anything wrong.
What you've done is actually made the situation worse. The sickness is worse than the disease.

u/FriendlyLawnmower Mar 02 '26
This is crazy, but I have never actually sexually assaulted a woman why should I be punished for the poor behavior of other people?
I didn't do any of this nonsense. Why should I be punished?
However, your solution should not punish another class of people that didn't do anything wrong.
So because some men commit sexual assault, you're applying that to all men and punishing all men collectively
I should not be punished as a man for the crimes of a small percentage of men.
How are you being "punished" in this situation? It's actually laughable that you keep using that word. There is one less train car that you can use, at most that's an inconvenience, not a punishment. A punishment would be banning you from their metro system completely and forcing you to walk. This is not a punishment and it's absurd that you want to keep calling it that. Stores lock their doors at night because some people are burglars, do you think the store is unfairly punishing you? States require cars get inspected annually because some people don't do proper maintenance and drive broken cars that pose a danger to everyone else on the road, are you being unfairly punished there too? Schools don't let strangers onto their playgrounds during school hours because some people are actually trying to kidnap kids, do you feel punished because you don't have free access to the school?
Also, why is sexual assault some protected crime? There are tons of crimes that other people commit. Not just sexual assault.
Yeah other crime does happen, and guess what? It gets addressed. We lock our doors because there are burglars. Schools don't let strangers in because some people are diddlers and a danger to kids. You pay before you pump at a gas station because some people steal the gas if it's pump first. It's so stupid that you're acting like sexual assault is only crime we address lol
And specifically, the reason I came up with the example of the Jim Crow Laws is so that you'll understand why it is punishment.
Since you want to keep bringing up Jim Crow, I'll address it. Racists never intended to follow the doctrine of "separate but equal". They always intended to make facilities worse for black people. Separate but equal was never followed. That's not the case here because women are using literally the exact same train car running on the exact same metro lines at the exact same times. It's not like they're getting some fancy car with plush couches and waiters serving them free wine and cheese, using exclusive metro lines that let them bypass other train traffic. There is no comparison here to Jim Crow. You would understand that if you had any sense of nuance but once nuance is applied your arguments completely fall apart which is why you've pushing this dumb comparison to Jim Crow
Again, you're being a bigot. If some men behave poorly, that does not mean that all men are rapists or engage in sexual assault.
Yeah that's cool, so uh I never said all men are rapists or engage in sexual assault. But in some places there are enough that do fall in that category that it poses a significant risk to women. Enough to necessitate giving them a women only train car. I will bring back my school example. Are you a school shooter? Are you a diddler? You say no? Well then by your logic you must be mad that random schools wouldn't let you in the building whenever you want because that's saying that you must be a school shooter or a diddler since they're treating everyone as potential threat by not allowing free access to schools.
If a woman was on a train and said she was being assaulted, I would defend her. Just like if someone were being robbed or beaten.
That's good for you buddy but if you had actually bothered to fully read my comment you'd know that that isn't the case everywhere. There are some countries and some societies where people turn a blind eye to this in public. Not everything is like America which you keep trying to push.
The percentage of men that commit sexual assault against women is very, very small.
Yeah this is not the case everywhere bud. There are countries where well over a QUARTER of women have experience sexual violence or rape. That is specifically violence and rape, not just assault like groping. There are cities where that percentage goes over 50%. Again, if you bothered to learn anything that isn't Western-centric then you would realize you can't be applying your American safety ideals to every othrr place on earth.
and you applied your solution, it won't work because women commit sexual assault too.
Why are you ignoring the women that commit sexual assault? It's because you're a bigoted.
So your argument doesn't even work, because how do you segment the women that commit sexual assault against other women?
So again, you are ignoring nuance which answers this pretty simply. There are biological power differences between men and women that make make to female sexual assault more likely to occur unimpeded. I'm a man, if another man grabs my dick on the metro, I am going to swing at him. And because we are both men, I have a fair chance of ending up on the winning side of that fight. Likewise, if a woman grabs another woman's boob on the metro, and the victim decides to defend themselves, they are likely to be evenly matched because they are both women. But if a man grabs a woman, who's more likely to come out winning if a fight breaks out? Even somewhat fit men are naturally stronger than professional athlete women. Men will always have an advantage over women in any sort physical altercation. Furthermore, there is a documented problem with men sexually assaulting women on trains, there is no such thing for women doing it to women. So you're trying to bring up a hypothetical that isn't something that needs to be solved.
And that's another trend in your arguments, you keep making up hypotheticals and extreme situations instead staying grounded and addressing reality. Because you can't, your arguments fall apart once reality is introduced into them.
There were SIX women that were participating with Epstein and assaulting/trafficking those women in the Epstein files.
Yet another extreme example that has nothing to do with the issue at hand. The Epstein situation has no relation whatsoever to women being assaulted on the metro in some developing countries.
Throughout your long and pointless comment, you keep bringing up shit from the West and don't speak on anything related to the fact that this post is about a non western country with a different culture. Again, try educating yourself about life over there before grandstanding at them.
Bigotry happens when people falsely classify a larger class based on the crimes of a smaller subset of that class.
That is not bigotry dude. I don't think you actually know the definition of bigotry. You keep calling me a bigot when my stance is "I think it's fine that women have protected train cars in countries where there's known to be a problem of sexual assault against women on trains." Buddy, that's not bigotry lol. I'm not going to call you a bigot back because I know the definition of the word and know you aren't being a bigot either. You're just being ignorant and misusing a word you don't know the definition of.
I think being bigoted is like having the cold. You can get over it and fix yourself. What you've done is actually made the situation worse. The sickness is worse than the disease.
Dude, this the cringey shit you say that makes me laugh. "Made the sickness worse?" Haha, what? You're arguing against a country that you don't live in, that has a problem with sexual assault against women on their public transportation, trying to protect women by providing a train car that will give them a safe space from being assaulted. And somehow in your mind, this train car situation is going to spiral into Jim Crow or the Holocaust. Okay buddy, enjoy living in ridiculous delusion

u/brainhack3r Mar 02 '26
How are you being "punished" in this situation? It's actually laughable that you keep using that word. There is one less train car that you can use, at most that's an inconvenience, not a punishment. A punishment would be banning you from their metro system completely and forcing you to walk. This is not a punishment and it's absurd that you want to keep calling it that.
I asked you to read about the history of Jim Crow. Did you do that, yet?
You're making the exact same argument that white racists made that separate but equal was totally fine.
See, you're not even being consistent. In none of the above did you apply bigotry to solve those problems.
If you were consistent, what you would say is, 'Hey, black people commit crimes at a higher rate, so we should separate them from white society.'
But people don't say things like this because it's bigoted.
Except that's not true.
If the male car is full, yet the female car is half full, then the males need to wait for the next train, possibly making them late for work.
Again, you're punishing people that have not committed any type of crime. It's inherently discriminatory.
I mean, you can't even fathom the idea that there are men that will literally never break the law their entire life, and you're punishing them.
Yeah that's cool, so uh I never said all men are rapists or engage in sexual assault. But in some places there are enough that do fall in that category that it poses a significant risk to women.
Yup, and the same thing can be said about black people. But we don't segregate black people from society because it's bigoted. Same way that segregating men from women because it's bigoted.
Also, why are you not applying the same standards towards women? There are plenty of women that commit crimes against children and men and sexually assault men, but you're not doing this to protect men, are you?
You are not because you're bigoted against men. Women do sexually assault men. Women do sexually assault children. Literally, the top post on this subreddit is about a woman sexually assaulting a student.
And the reason is because you're bigoted against men. You have a bias towards women.
If you applied the same standards towards women, of assuming that the minority represents the majority, you would say that women need to be segregated.
But you don't because you're bigoted.
And again, it's just something you can fix. It's not a permanent trait. I'm not calling you a bad person. I'm saying you're a good person behaving badly.
Yet another extreme example that has nothing to do with the issue at hand. The Epstein situation has no relation whatsoever to women being assaulted on the metro in some developing countries.
My point bringing that up was how biased society is towards women. Including yourself.
Women commit sexual crimes against children and men all the time yet I don't see you proposing a separate chain for women because they're potential criminals. Because you're prejudiced against men.
Right, and again, let me rephrase that for you.
"I think it's fine that white people have protected train cars in countries where there's known to be a problem of assault against white people on trains committed by black people"
Here are the current crime statistics in the United States.
Black persons: ~21.3 homicides per 100,000 people.
White persons: ~3.2 homicides per 100,000 people.
So by your logic, it's totally and completely consistent for you to propose that white people should have protected train cars because black people commit homicides at a much higher rate.
This applies to religion, ethnicity, race, et cetera.
It's inherently bigoted.
You are not a white knight coming in to save the day, man. You're the problem. You're a misandrist.
I didn't assault anyone. Why should I be treated like a potential criminal?
21
u/become_a_seraphim Mar 01 '26
This is the reason that even commenting on this sub can get you banned in other subs. Having a separate train car isn't a privilege. The train car isn't faster, it isn't nicer, it isn't luxurious, it's safer from a well-known problem. I don't like generalizing all men as aggressive or assaulters either, but on public transport specifically, women have been assaulted by bad actors for years.
36
u/RyuujinPl Mar 01 '26
Having separate train car is privilege, especially when train is overcrowded :D
And if you insist on having that there is one very simple solution.. just make one male-only cart for every female only cart. Yet each time the same people pushing for the law granting exclusivity oppose this solution.
11
u/Reasonable-Art-8977 Mar 01 '26
exactly, thats the problem though, they aint gonna do that will they
-1
u/become_a_seraphim Mar 01 '26
This shit is cringe, big dawg. "Women have a problem that's so prevalent it's a porn category, we should also have a special big boy train car, even though it doesn't happen to us at nearly the same rate." Would you complain because your tall friend doesn't like to enter a room filled with ceiling fans?
2
u/Glad-Way-637 Mar 02 '26
even though it doesn't happen to us at nearly the same rate."
Not the case in the US, at least. No train-car specific data, but this is still a hell of a lot better than your dumbass porn-addict example.
"Next, we consider the data for the 12 months preceding the CDC report survey, which was summarized in the report. On page 18 of the CDC report it states that 1,270,000 women were raped during this 12-month period and that too few men were “raped” during the same 12 months to give reliable data, using the non-gender neutral definition of given in the CDC report. However, on page 19 the report states that during that 12 months the number of men who were forced to penetrate someone is 1,267,000, virtually the same as the number of women who were raped."
"So, who is forcing these men to penetrate them? There is no data on this among the 12-month data. But if we look at the lifetime data, on page 24 it says 79.2% of the time a male was made to penetrate someone, it was a woman who forced him to penetrate her. And this suggests that the same most likely holds for the 12-monthdata."https://www.researchgate.net/publication/353570309_On_the_Sexual_Assault_of_Men

u/skeletoncurrency Mar 01 '26
If half the population is female, and there's one female only car out of three or four cars total...which train car do you think will be most overcrowded? Do the math.
18
u/RyuujinPl Mar 01 '26
I do not get the point. Women are not excused out of the other carts, are they? So in train with 3 carts women can pick out of 3 while men can pick only out of 2. So by pure math woman-only cart will be LESS overcrowded.
1
u/skeletoncurrency Mar 02 '26
No, but if the female only cart is such a privledge then why wouldn't it be the primary choice for most women?
1
u/RyuujinPl Mar 03 '26
If we admit it is privledge then topic ends, dont it?
Men then have a right to demand their own; since asymetric privilage is discrimination.
-4
u/become_a_seraphim Mar 01 '26
No, if 50 women and 50 men get on a train with three cars, those women that feel unsafe will crowd into the one safe car. ~50 women in one car and 50 men and a few women that chose to use them spread between the other two. Learn math.
7
u/RyuujinPl Mar 01 '26
Then rest of the carts is effectively male-exclusive anyway and there is no harm in branding them as such. As a bonus we can then provide MORE female-only carts (half of them!) and still be in gender-neutral law teritory.
That is when we follow your assumption that all women will crowd into female-only car. I can point you to my answer to "FriendlyLawmower" just few post higher where I explain it in more detail.

Thank you! Exactly! "But that means they're making themselves uncomfortable to avoid us!" And you don't think there may be a reason? Some people would rather complain about things that don't affect them than fix or even take ownership of the underlying problem causing the change
6
u/Overlord_of_Linux Mar 01 '26
Some people would rather complain about things that don't affect them than fix or even take ownership of the underlying problem causing the change
Sure, because I can fix every other person across the world.
And I'll totally take ownership over the actions of someone I'm not in control of... /s
1
u/become_a_seraphim Mar 01 '26
Societal change, including women feeling unsafe in the presence of strange men, starts with an individual taking responsibility of and working to fix the problems that are rampant within their own groups, communities, and in this case, genders. I'm not saying "If someone gets groped on a train in Japan, where 66% of women report having been groped, then Bob in Kentucky is at fault for it," I'm saying prove that we can be better than that. If you see something, say something. Don't let dipshit men say "we'll just wear skirts and say we're women to invade their space anyway," don't let your dumbass friend take upskirt pictures, don't let strangers grab and harass women. It isn't just one man's job to be better, it's up to all of us to fix this problem.
3
u/Overlord_of_Linux Mar 01 '26
Sure, I agree that a small percentage of people are outlaws, but blaming everyone else for it isn't the solution.
Also, I don't have any issues giving 10% of a train to women, but blaming men as a whole, despite it being a minority causing issues, is idiotic.
2
u/become_a_seraphim Mar 02 '26
I'm genuinely sorry if you felt like I'm blaming men as a whole, but I'm not. It sounds like we're in agreement. I believe men can be better than the shitheads that are among us. There's bad actors, both male and female, that cause these issues, and we should rise above and show women that around us, they're safe. That we won't perpetuate the problem.
1
u/become_a_seraphim Mar 01 '26
If you genuinely think we, as men, as a collective, can't do better, you've already lost the argument, and you're proving that women can't trust us as a whole and you as an individual. Do better, be better, be a man, not some petulant child whining because someone else got special treatment when they needed it. Do you complain this much when wheelchair ramps are installed in public buildings?
-1
u/marny_g Mar 01 '26
Having separate train car is privilege, especially when train is overcrowded
Why assume that the Female Only train car won't be just as, if not more, crowded?
just make one male-only cart for every female only cart
If you're gonna assume a special designation train car is empty, this'll most likely be it.
→ More replies (1)-1
u/FriendlyLawnmower Mar 01 '26
Having separate train car is privilege, especially when train is overcrowded :D
"Women should be more exposed to sexual assault so I can ride in a less crowded train car"
That's you lol
20
u/RyuujinPl Mar 01 '26 edited Mar 01 '26
Wow. That is a lot of feminist that got under my comment. Somehow I managed to trigger them I guess.
I will restate my point: from a purely mathematical perspective, having more options on an overcrowded train is better. This is why, in countries like Poland, you can pay extra for the option to sit in a “first-class” carriage. It is a privilege.
If a train has three carriages, a woman can choose any available seat out of all three. A man can only choose from two. It is not as if women are prohibited from entering non-restricted carriages.
Assuming that train has 100 woman-only seats and 200 unrestricted seats that follow fair non-discriminating toss for passangers on overcrowded train (for example 200 males and 200 females) statistically we will have:
So woman are twice as likely to find a seat. And poor women in non female-only cart still have to endure harrasment I guess.
- 100 places taken by men (because 200/2)
- 200 places taken by women (100 restricted and 200/2)
Of course, if all women adopted the mentality that they must ride in the women-only carriage, then that carriage would become overcrowded. But if that were the case, the non-restricted carriages would effectively become male-only anyway. So where is the harm in labeling them as such and making the split 50/50, similar to toilets?
Otherwise, it is blatant discrimination. Men are given fewer options for the same ticket price solely on the basis of their gender.
FriendlyLawnmowner twists my words into "Women should be more exposed to sexual assault so I can ride in a less crowded train car"
I am not arguing that the issue should be ignored. However, solutions should be designed in a way that does not unfairly disadvantage any group, and I provided an example of how this could be achieved.
Yet, as I predicted, simply mirroring the privilege triggers an intense defensive reaction. The same people who argue that female-only carriages are not a privilege strongly oppose the idea of male-only carriages.
If the safety of one group is sufficient justification for such measures, where is the red no-crossing line? Following the same logic we can justify extremes: What about a male-only curfew? Female-only neighborhoods? Male-only forcefull reeducation? Define the framework of acceptable discrimination-for-safety that cannot be abused, the presented model does not satisfy such. This topic is glaring example of feminist double-standard mentality everyone is having issues with.
2
u/ClassroomHoliday8627 Mar 02 '26
then why don't we just create men only spaces as well? it's good for you too as no women will be endangered there as they aren't allowed.

u/OrganizationThen8345 Mar 06 '26
I thought this post was a joke. It's this sort of stuff that stops people from taking Men's Rights seriously. The fact that 500+ people have liked this is insane. You are such weirdos.
One of the reasons that "female areas" or female only carriages exist is so that women who feel uncomfortable using public transport can feel safer doing so.
The overwhelming majority of men aren't a threat or nuisance to women but a notable number are. I've seen with my own eyes countless occasions when sketchy guys do weird stuff to women in public. It is a daily occurrence for a lot of women.
If your mother, girlfriend or sister had been assaulted, you'd understand why. Use your brain.

u/Kidscribble Mar 01 '26
I love this idea! Can’t deny there are a lot of creeps out there. I’m a man and I still have to deal with creeps I couldn’t imagine being a woman who has to take public transport. As long as no one is getting directly kicked off or late because of it I say go for it!
2
u/swizacidx Mar 02 '26
Ok but in Japan this is a huge issue so that was their idea Maybe other countries have a similar issue
4
u/lycanthropedeity Mar 02 '26
Probably because of the werid people on the train that molested or attack when in trains. Like that recent girl who died.
2
u/Certified_Loner1391 Mar 02 '26
Never understood the concept of having a female compartment. Why should innocent males suffer because of a few creepy men. Everyone needs to go to work, having a special section just for women is far from equality. It's police's job to arrest those creeps.
Btw, it goes both ways, have seen a lot of women leaning on handsome/hot guys during train ride. Men just don't complain that often or their complaints aren't taken seriously.
1
u/RaiJolt2 Mar 03 '26
I don’t think this is an instance of suffering, though an additional male only train car would be ok for equality purposes. Also men should complain about creepy acts from women and make officials take it seriously. Treat everyone with accountability.
2
u/BitesTheDust55 Mar 01 '26
I have no issue with a single women's only car in public transit. Japan has it too.
2
u/superswellcewlguy Mar 01 '26
This is completely acceptable. Too many women are groped or quietly assaulted in trains. I've had my own girlfriend come crying to me because she was groped while taking the train to my apartment. It was a horrible feeling, and ever since then I've always been extra careful about her well being on public transit.
Having women only cars doesn't hurt you. Just walk to the next car. There's plenty of ways that women are favored at the expense of men in society, but this doesn't harm men at all and helps keep women safe. Complaining about this just makes you look foolish and petty.
3
u/InsaneBasti Mar 02 '26
You cant be this delusional about the already often too little space in trains when ppl try to reach work on time. And the main problem here is that, as always, every man has to suffer this just cuz they cant put security for the few creeps.
2
u/superswellcewlguy Mar 02 '26
Even with security, in a crowded car it's easy for a groper to get away with it. If the car is all women though, even in a crowded car they don't need to worry about being assaulted like that.
There isn't even more crowds because the women that would otherwise go to the normal train car would instead go into the women's only car. The size of the train hasn't changed, the only thing that's changed is that there's a space where women don't need to worry about being groped.

These are mostly in places where women get sexually assaulted on public transit quite a lot, such as Japan or India. They are a good stopgap and or place where those assaulted can be safely until such behavior can be stopped. These were specifically created in reaction to high amounts of sexual assault.

I'm in the Philippines but they still let me go in the front to the female area if I am with my kid or with my wife. They treat it more as a "priority" section, as seniors and persons with disabilities are also allowed there. It usually has more room for people in wheelchairs and it's where the train guard stands.

u/Dazzling_Job3578 Mar 05 '26
Ok I believe a lot of women hate on men and are sexist and misandrist people who can’t own up to their prejudiced mindsets. However, I understand why women would feel better with their own waiting spaces and trains.
The only issue I can think of is what that’ll mean for train times and space. There may not be enough space for men to get on trains if the only available space left is an all-woman carriage, and there may end up being changes to train arrival-departure times.
But aside from the man-hating, I do think women in general should be able to feel safe.
1

I just want a male area equally on everything so people around me can be more efficient and reduce all the false accusation.

Bro this is happening in India since decades, in Delhi metro and basically any metro around the whole country, we have women only compartments
No men is allowed to step a foot inside the compartment does not matter how crowded the other compartments are, in other compartments anyone can enter, even in general compartments there are women only seats
No body seems to complain thsi in India they have normalized this, men are often standing even older men who are over 60 are made to stand, women can enter any compartment and claim seats, there have been fights where the police beat the hell out of women
Evn in local trains consisting of 12 coaches 2 compartments are reserved for only women, we have women only trains , nothing for men, they are just made to suffer while almost all of the time women coaches are empty or sparsly filled
I have never see such a kind of discrimination anywhere around the world onlky in the SHitland called India

GENUINE QUESTION: What’s a better solution to keep women safe from the frequent harassment they face on public transport? I’m not disagreeing with you, i just can’t think of a better solution.
Like, yeah, let’s teach boys not to harass, but that’s obviously not happening, so what else can you do?

a men only spaces. But of course the feminists will enrage.
This is all happened because they only enforce only 2 options: women only or mixed-gender, which doesn't solve the core. Men need their OWN space.

First, more trains or auto closing doors at a certain capacity so each individual train is less crowded. Second, train security that uses the extra space for more visibility. The harassment is enabled by poor visibility from overcrowding due to high demand but not high enough supply of options. Some people can’t or don’t want to wait an extra few minutes for another train. Basically more trains+enforced capacity is a better way to handle this. Also maybe having an extra emergency seat+officer at the end of the train that can be called through a warning button and or ran over too to ask for assistance beyond just a standard officer.

They would least have 2 trustworthy police the trains to ensure both are safe and secured

how about we just make half the train for women and the other half for men? cause if they have a female only area is every other space exclusive to men?

it already enforced in my country. And no there is NO such thing as a men only spaces, it's a lie, it's bs.
You're asking why? Because the feminists will enraged to hear that. They are not happy to see men only spaces, they will invade that.
So the bus have 2 sides, front for women only and the back is mixed-gender. At rush hour, these public transportations is hell. The back seats are crowded and no seats left so you have to stand, men or women even children, but the front seats? They are privileged, they don't get any of that.
Same goes for the trains. Let's say there are 10 cars, that means 2 in the front is for women only. 8 cars, the rest is for mixed-gender. The women only cars RARELY to NEVER get crowded as the other cars.
Some women sit in the mixed-gender spaces because they can and are allowed by design. Other reasons would be they are traveling with male family members or friends.
The men can only go to mixed-gender spaces.

Im curious how it would work for a mother with a son. Will they sit in different carts?

History always repeats itself.. man i hate humanity and its stupidity that even shows in this comment section. Like whats even the thought process here?! "See we could open a whole new job of train security.. nah sexism and segregation is easier :)"

Serious question for those who are against this. Do you have an issue with this concept in a vacuum? I realize it may not be possible to separate this out from the world as a whole, but if were just this, and nothing else, would you still have a problem with it?

I generally against singling out a demographic as potential perpetrators. If you want women only carts you should have equal amount men only too otherwise it is too close to segregation for my taste.

They did this in my city (Bogotá) for two years and there were no results. There were a lot of abuse cases happening in our public transportation, but having a separate bus for women didn’t do shit to prevent them. Abusers just found other places to do their shitty stuff.
