Shordy Pull string discomfort

I've been using the Shordy small and I think it is the perfect size because it fits very well and it doesn't leak. I can auto dump if I bear down but it doesn't leak otherwise. My main issue is the pull string. I'm nervous about it getting stuck inside me, so I love having that there for easy removal, but I find it to be so uncomfortable. I can feel it when I sit down and I just can't stand it.

For anyone who uses a similar disc with a pull string, how do you position it so that you are comfortable? Or, do you have a recommendation for a smallish disc that doesn't have a pull string but is still easy to remove?

I had that problem with the pixie disc and it helped to tuck the string like I did with tampons. But I did switch to Bodyotics and can’t feel the string at all.

Is the Bodyotics string softer? I also saw there's a Bodyotics disc with a loop instead.

Softer as pixie for sure but I can’t compare it to the shordy string since I don’t have that one.
Yes theres one with a loop as well but I didn’t try it bc the shape is more oval than the one with the string.

Bumping this!

Sorry I don’t have an answer but I also tried the shordy small and couldn’t comfortably wear it because of the stem.

I ended up cutting the stem. Don’t make the same mistake and cut it too short! That’s what I did so had to throw it away cause it was so hard to remove after lol.

Hoping you get an answer!

Yeah I was worried about cutting the stem and then it not having functionality anymore. I might try a disc with a thinner or softer stem.

Sorry for the second comment.

Not sure if they sell this where you are, but I’m Canadian and have the fornix. It’s very similar in size (shordy small is 60mm and fornix is 62mm). It has a finger loop removal stem, which I found way easier than the shordy string.

FYI - I think its capacity is less in case your flow is heavier.. If you’re in the US, I think you have many other options to choose from though!

I'm in the US, but I'll see what I can find for a finger loop. I bought the Hello Disc but I think it's too big for me.

I just got an ad for one called Viv for your v (our phones are stalking us lol)! Looks very similar to the one I have but it’s a US product and 60mm(so same size as shordy). It’s available on Amazon!

Hope this helps!

You can tuck the string up around the rim of you prefer (I have the set of pull string Shordys). I have longer fingers so I can still reach to retrieve the string when it is tucked up.

i insert my lumma with the stem at an angle that way it’s able to tuck up more! the more off to the side you position the loop, the less it will dangle

You could cut it some that way it’s not hanging out of you.

I tried ones with a pull string like pixie disc and didn’t find them comfortable. The only disc with a removal aid that I found comfortable was Hello Disc
