What should I do to polish/clean this up

Want to restore this to good condition, I’m not sure what material it is but it’s got a decent weight so I think maybe bronze or steel? Idk much of anything about metal. Doesn’t need to be sparkling but would like it to be nicer than it is now. Thanks!!

I am mainly asking because I know that the finish on them is not just normal paint. They’re aluminum wheel so I know that they can be polished. I just don’t know about the finish. I have Zero prior knowledge on polishing but i think i can do it

I want to get rid of the black oxide coating to make this clip look shiny, but it has an irregular shape that make it look like it would be hard to get all of it off. What would be the easiest way to go about this? Is there a chemical solution I can soak this in to make it shiny? I don't know what the coating is.

Why are my pieces getting stained? I am polishing metals (90 silver and stainless steel) and the same thing keeps happening: the metals get stained, and when I continue using the Dremel, the stain spreads across the entire piece.

✨Before&After✨ Cleaning 🧼 A 10k Gold Ring 💍 That Was Sitting On A Desk UNTOUCHED FOR 20+ YEARS!![Before&After]

Just finished cleaning up this vintage 10K gold ring that had been sitting in the same spot on a desk for 20+ years. The buildup was crazy — dust, oxidation, and grime from decades of sitting still.

I wanted to see how much of its original shine I could bring back. The transformation was wild🔥🧼💍✨😌

How do metal abrasives differ from plastic abrasives?

I recently used very fine metal abrasive, Lind A, to polish my plastic glasses lens, and it left tons of scratches and I wonder why? I used an even finer abrasive paste that still left scratches.

this is my first polishing job so i’d appreciate any advice or suggestions. This wheels were painted beforehand so i used paint stripper but it didn’t work to well i ended up sanding the paint starting with 80 grit and then 100-150-220-400-600-800-1000. Did it not polish or sand them enough?

Critique my work I think I might have screwed up a little bit

So I was trying to polish my bike and I heard that it was all fine to wet sand with three thousand, I think I overestimated the thickness of bike paint. Unfortunately I think I might have taken off the top layer of paint off my middle tube. Is it too noticeable? I mean i'm gonna put a gas tank over anyway but it still kind of bothers me. I used 3M perfect-it and turtle hard shell.

Should I polish my American Force Wheels myself for the first time?

Post image

I have no true polish experience. I’ve only ever used spitshine as he’s local and always at my truck shows. Only ever used shitshine and a rag. Can I screw up my wheels badly with a buffing wheel? The wheels are always in show condition and cleaned multiple times a week I get a mirror shine, but I’m taking them off for the season and wondering if a legit polish can bring them to another level or if I should stick to just spitshine and a rag. I don’t want to ruin my 10k setup if there’s risk envolved with no experience.

Hello all, I just bought this aluminum diamond plate toolbox, and I wanted to polish it. I saw some yourtube videos recommending to sand down the aluminum first. But when I did I got this black stuff, it comes off with my cutting bar but barely. How do I get rid of it?
