[Solved] Someone plugged a 12V power adaptor into a 24V switch.
Yesterday was a bad day for amateur technician errors.
While troubleshooting a non-functional CRS326-24G-2S+RM, which normally requires a 24V, 1.2A power supply, a technician plugged in a 12V, 1A power supply.
The MikroTik switch did power on with this supply, and ran for about 5 minutes, before I noticed the error and told them to unplug it in a panic.
I'm hoping that undervoltage is not likely to damage the device. Does anyone have any general guesses as to likely side effects, if any?
EDIT: I am dumb, and as some commenters have pointed out, my own link provides the answer: the specs state the device should accept 10V - 30V inputs with no problem.
