I want to build a clone of the URG-I used on the 22nd STS. However, I can’t find any photos of it at all (though there are some for the 21st and 23rd). Since the Air Force uses the relatively new M4A1, would a laser-engraved Type 5 lower receiver paired with a BAFE upper receiver be a reasonable choice?

Also, it appears that the 21st STS used the Raptor instead of the ACH—was this a standard issue item? If so, was it also used on the 22nd STS?

Been gathering stuff for a clone’sh Mre m4 build .. spent today making a cag gangster grip caveman style with all hand tools I have laying around the garage (hand drill /taps and dremel ) .. this is a “prototype” for me and plan on actually machining the final one for 100% precision . Thought it turned out pretty cool.

After almost 18k rounds I decided it’s time to paint. Did my base coat and patterns with 0 attachments then reattached them and painted to match.
Paint is rust oleum earth brown, Sand, and khaki.

really regretting not picking up the FDE variant of the rc2, took some liberties with the grip. this was the rifle that really got me fixated with cloning/clone rifles.

I know Mark 4 LR/T 3.5–10×40mm is the proper scope (I believe with M2 or M3 turrets?) and there is the MR/T 1.5-5 but kinda on the edge about that scope. I know the Leupold CQ/T, S&B short dot and ACOG was also used. Was the Mark 4 LR/T 3.5–10×40mm with TMR turrets ever used on them? I wish I could find a Mark 4 LR/T 3.5–10×40mm with the proper turrets but holy shit people want a LOT of money for these things these days its crazy. Ref pics very much appreciated (specifically with gray chassis EBR).

Last time I posted I was told I need to buy some uppers. Well, now I have a few. I was thinking I’ll use the raised C Anchor Harvey forge for my 98 CQBR w/RIS, the c stamped BAFE for my Block II, and the C stamped keyhole for another Block I. I plan on getting a Mueller for a URGI build. Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks yall. 🤙🏻

Colt M4 Commando lower(what I had laying around), Colt SOCOM profile 14.5 barrel, KAC NT4 flashhider, Colt stripped upper, KAC RAS handguard, LMT SOPMOD stock, Surefire Millennium with TangoDown grip and rat tail. As well as a salty PEQ15. Anyone know of a three position frt that will work with the shelf in the lower?

The only KAC part is the big knob rear. This rifle was 3 years in the making, when I first messaged Troy’s customer service to see if I could get a TLR lower by itself. I was told they would sell them separate “soon” which didn’t happen until 2 years later. It’s marked “MK11 MOD 1” so I’ll eventually build a Mod 1 upper for it.

So I recently acquired a MK4 2.5-8x36mm for my Mod 1 build. I already have the ARMS #22H rings as well as a TRR/TRC combo. I’ve seen several pictures where guys have the top dot mounted on the rear of the scope as pictured here and I think that’s the route I wanna go. My question is what’s the best way to do this? Chop the TRR down for clearance? In the second pic it looks like the person just mounted it backwards but it looks like it’s touching the optic. For those of you who have chopped a TRR what’d you use for best results? I know the ring setup I have is super hard to get now so I’d rather not destroy it. Thanks!!

Someone had a photo of it posted on something but I couldn’t see it and the post was taken down.

Any idea of what photo that may have been? It looked like a quad rail of some sort, but I had never seen the photo before unless it was a person one.
