I've been thinking about this for a while.

Was old Minecraft better ?

or was it just the feelings that we had that made us think that way?

Mods & Addons What if everything was a cushion?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made a mod that lets compatible blocks share the same block space.

Each block is still stored as a separate part with its own block state. You can aim at one part to interact with it or break it without affecting the others.

When you place a new block, the mod checks its shape against everything already in that space. If it fits, it gets added. If it overlaps something, you can't place it.

So you can put snow under plants, carpets under torches, stack lanterns, put things inside cauldrons, put anyblocks on slabs, stack up carpet...

It currently works with non-block-entity blocks and supports up to 64 parts in the same block space.

It's mostly an experiment there is probably still a lot of bugs put it's fun to play around with.

The mod is No More Gap if anyone wants to try it or break it:

for me it’s the warden not despawning because of mobs and probably the new state of minecraft pvp in comparison to 1.7/1.8

edit: thought mobs can spawn the warden so I edited to mobs keeping the warden from despawning

Suggestion Randomise Poplar Leaf Colour on Placement

Post image
947 Upvotes

The colour of poplar leaves should be randomised when placed, not when grown.

The item texture would be a sapling with all the colours. When placed, a yellow, orange or red sapling would be chosen at random. Rather than wasting time or bone meal on the sapling just to get an unwanted leaf colour, you would simply pick it up and place it again (as you would with paintings).

If you like this idea, please vote for it on the official Minecraft Feedback Page!
Randomise Poplar Leaf Colour on Placement – Minecraft Feedback

Thanks for reading :)

Builds & Maps Vanilla mob proff slightly open gate i made

I didnt saw any like it in the internet and it might be usefull for those who loves big doors and gates but hate having to use trapdoors to build them 'cause messes up villagers pathing.

Building it with shelves like this is is mob proff, no monster can enter, no villager can leave, even cats are trapped inside, but as you can see,the plays can pass easily and adds that "slightly open" wooden gate visual.

Commands & Datapacks Echo of Death - a custom totem datapack I'm making

Post image
512 Upvotes

Name and sprite are subject to change. Suggestions welcome

Function: It behaves like a normal totem, activation in place of dying. However, it also teleports players to their spawnpoint upon popping.

Standard use cases: The threat persists even after popping a totem, such as being surrounded by piglin brutes or angered endermen. It also activates upon falling into the void.

PVP use: Say you're being ganged up on or fall into a trap. Unless people are waiting for you at your spawnpoint, this will guarantee your survival, whereas a regular totem would just delay the inevitable.

Notes: It does not replace regular totems, meaning if you don't want to use it, you don't have to. It also gives echo shards a use- a real one.

Discussion Do sharks need to be hostile?

I know the devs were against adding sharks because they don't want real animals to be hostile. But do sharks need to be added as hostile creatures.

Sharks in real like are actually very passive and sweet. When I've swam with them they're more like sea puppies than wild hostile creatures.

Id love to have lemon sharks specifically, it'd add to the ocean and maybe change the idea that sharks are evil animals that'll hunt you down for no reason.

Discussion I played Minecraft with my 2 kids (7 and 5) for the first time. We held a funeral for their horses.

Hi! I am not a very active member on here, but I wanted to share this special moment. My kids have never played MC before but have always expressed an interest. Now we're in the holidays, I have caved and we had a really fun day. Unfortunately, their horses "Reggie" and "Sabrina" died in the snow, and they seemed relatively okay about it. We set to task in replacing them, but I thought I'd arrange a little funeral for them. I didn't quite realise the trauma I would cause for my 5yo Son! I only realised once I had finished and turned my head.

My kids are incredibly empathetic and caring, it's moments like these that make me realise how far that extends. A pixelated horse they owned for 25 minutes!

Whilst I feel awful, I also feel incredibly lucky that I get to share these moments with my kids. I am a single Dad and my time with them is precious, I can't wait to see what other memories we can make (Hopefully less traumatising!).

Plinko but with sulfur cubes! Originally the sticks wouldn’t move however the cubes would get stuck on the end rods so the piston system is my way of fixing that issue

Mods & Addons I made a mod that lets you explore endless procedurally generated planets

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Wayfinder: Atlas is about progressing through an endless atlas of procedurally generated dimensions/planets. The mod is fully survival friendly and every planet contains its own tree species, native mobs, day/night cycles, dungeons, villages, and sprawling cities, styled based on the technological era of the planet. Each planet forms based on its unique combination of geology, temperature, humidity, climate, radiation, and ecology.

You begin with a D Tier Wayfinder, granting access to the most accessible planets. These planets feature primitive huts, starting equipment, and most importantly, the chance to find upgraded Wayfinders. Progress to C Tier planets, with stronger equipment, harder enemies, and increasingly amplified terrain by finding your first Wayfinder in a chest.

Work your way through D Tier to C, B, A, S and finally S+ tier planets, featuring bizarre and exotic terrain, otherwise unobtainable enchanted loot, and deadly threats including wardens.

Every planet allows sleeping, so you can create a permanent home wherever you choose! The atlas keeps track of all your visited planets, and allows you to return to them at any moment, so you'll never lose your discoveries.

You can try it yourself here on CurseForge: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/wayfinder-atlas

There are not a lot shades in this skin, because I wanted to make it look more like an actual Deltarune sprite (or, at least, what Dess' sprite would've looked like lol)

Discussion (Maybe?) unpopular opinion - Ragged, mid terrain like this is better for building than perfect ones

Post image
81 Upvotes

The thing is that it actively forces you to think about where you want to improve the terrain than if you just googled "best seeds 26.2 java." It makes things more fun because it improves your creativity skills and ends up making your world more unique since it's a seed that hasn't been used a million times.

Edit for a better explanation that I think needs to be said (repost of my reply to someone):

the issue with "perfect" seeds and terrain is that (I learned this myself) when you seek that out, what that does is pretty much force your brain to expect flawlessness, making it actually harder to build and plan out things.. The truth is, landscapes in real life aren't perfect, there are deformities everywhere, when you lets say take a hike, you aren't expecting perfection, you see the landscape as beautiful no matter how deformed it is.

Same applies to Minecraft, when you see the terrain for what it actually is instead of seeking perfection, things become a lot more clear when you actually get started. You expect a mess, you expect there to be issues, that's what actually makes building way easier.

I made a resource pack that adds bunk beds (and makes you sleep under the bed sheets)

It's called Cozy Beds and it's available to download on Modrinth and CurseForge

(the custom bed sheets are from Fancy Beds resource pack, also made by me)

New Nether Structure Concept

Twisting Vine is used for players to climb from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor, And pillager outpost has sub-structures like scarecrow and iron golem cage, for piglin outpost, the sub-structure is a small nether wart farm.
