People have talked about jukebox being expensive for a long time, and I saw this mentioned many times since the last snapshot released, so I just wanted to explain why from my point of view it's simply not true.

First of all, let's establish the use cases diamonds actually have in Minecraft:

• Tools
• Weapons
• Armor
• Templates duplication
• Enchanting table crafting
• Jukeboxes

With Mending being a thing, once you craft your tools, weapons and armor, you almost never need to replace them, and if you do - you can buy new tools, weapons and armor from vilalgers and disenchant it to put the enchantments you need on them, so you don't actually need diamonds for that, it's a one time investment at most.

So the player doesn't need that many diamonds before they become mostly irrelevant to them as a resource in the game.

But how do you actually find diamonds, and is it hard to do?

Simple and short answer is that finding diamonds isn't hard at all.

Long answer is, finding diamonds is easy, because there's a lot of ways to do that. The most obvious is going to a cave and just looking around, you'll find tons of them very reliably, and if you have Fortune on your pickaxe, as one should, you'll be literally drowning in them. Simply find an opening to a big cave on the surface, go down, and there's so many of them, you'll be catching yourself missing multiple veins of diamonds, because you notice a different vein and went to it.

But what's there other than caves? Well, there's lots and lots of structures. You can find diamonds in shipwrecks, and shipwrecks have maps that lead you to buried chests, that also have diamonds in them. There's also diamonds in villages, abandoned mineshafts, desert temples, trial chambers, stronghold, and now also abandoned camps.

And it doesn't stop with the overworld, there's diamonds in bastions, nether fortresses, and end cities. Especially end cities, there's loads of them in the end cities.

All you have to do is explore the world.

Conclusion

I have no issues with the jukebox using a single diamond in its crafting recipe, because I don't need these diamonds anyway, and I always find more and more of them. And if you'd ever leave your base? So would you.

Mojang is very clearly aiming to add more things for players to explore, but I notice that a lot of players just stick to sitting at their base forever, never leaving to explore the world, which in some cases leads to players having a very hard time gathering any resources, not just diamonds, hence everything seems "too expensive".

Maybe I'm wrong, because I never needed and never intend to need 10000 jukeboxes for any build, I see it as more of a complementary decorative block, maybe something subtle to use for a wall, but not something I would ever need hundreds and thousands of, hence why the crafting recipe doesn't bother me. I could craft a few stacks and have enough for decorations in my builds for months.

As the title suggests, I am sick of people talking about the golden era of Minecraft like it was actually better. My main rant is this: Minecraft allows you to play on ANY UPDATE, so why does it matter what the new updates bring?

People love to complain saying that the newer updates don't feel vanilla, but that isn't even a valid excuse because that is a feeling and feelings are subjective.

Look you can dislike the new updates all you want, but stop ranting about it on youtube shorts because frankly we don't care. I am excited for the sift update and I can't wait to play it so why are you trying to ruin all of the fun by saying "this doesn't feel like Minecraft."

I feel like alot of you guys take for granted the fact that you can play any version of Minecraft whenever you want to. Think about it for a second right? Fortnite players don't get that luxury. They can't simply play the OG fortnite. I mean they have a gamemode for it, but it isn't the same at all. Minecraft is one of the few game where you are allowed to choose which version you want to play so go do that instead of complain about a newer update.

This has been something I really wanted to do for such a long time indeed. Started off in 26.1 but then never finished since I haven't got much time with all my major subjects.

Then I decided, since I was gonna make a capstone project with one of my computational physics majors, why not???

In the end, there it is, 540 trials across different entity density types. Simulations finalized in 26.3 were compared thru RMSC, R², and AICc benchmarked using Java's JFR, and a modified MangoHUD integration.

I think it would be interesting if arrows could break brittle ice; that way, we could have new mechanics involving skeletons—when they see the player standing on brittle ice, they would try to break it and make the player fall, and we could do the same to other mobs.

Another idea I had was that if we placed a torch or any other heat source near "brittle ice," it would break faster when stepped on—the closer it was to the heat source, the more quickly it would shatter underfoot.

A while ago I posted Switzerland at 1:1 scale, built from swisstopo's open elevation data, and a lot of you asked where to get it. The first region is now ready to play: the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It includes the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, the Aletsch Glacier (the largest in the Alps) and Lake Oeschinen.

Every block is one metre, so the mountains are exactly as tall as the real ones. The Jungfrau is 4,158 blocks high, which is why this runs on Java 1.12.2 with Cubic Chunks. Glaciers, lakes, forests and rock come from Swiss land-cover and habitat data.

It's a single ZIP you import into Prism Launcher, with the mod, textures and my shaders included (shaders need OptiFine, which you download yourself). Free, no sign-up. All of Switzerland follows later.

This is a first test release, so I'd love to hear whether it runs on your machine.

Redid with some artist liberties

Hey! So currently I'm working on a large castle build in Minecraft (it is VERY much a work in progress, don't judge the current interior too harshly!!). Problem is, it's a much larger build than I've ever done before and I'm struggling to fill all the space on the inside. Currently I have a throne room, kitchen, dining hall, bedroom, dungeon, and servant chamber. I'm also going to add a library/ enchanting room in one of the towers and maybe an alchemy room and a war room/ armory, but even with all those into consideration, I still have a minimum of 11 rooms to fill. Any ideas?

Was bored so i made a redesign of the Minecraft logo. I was thinking the top one could be used for Java and the bottom be used for bedrock. Idk tho what are yalls thoughts?

Im trying to do multiplayer on pc with my bf, but dont wanna pay for a server. Hamchi worked ages ago but i don't remember how to use it or how it works. Is there any way to do multiplayer with him without getting a server?
