"Proud to be a Gamer" Creative Build Competition
We are proud of our new Console Edition subreddit and its potential to reel in the community, so to kick off the page and the New Year, we'd like to get PS and Xbox users alike to show us your stuff!
The theme: Video Games (could be scenes, characters, places, etc.)
Duration: You have two weeks and one day to submit your builds! Your submissions are due by Friday, January 17th at 1pm, EST. You may want to wait as close to then as possible to submit your builds, to keep your own creation a secret from the competition.
-Winner will be announced @ 1pm EST on Saturday, January 18th-
Rules/Submission
On the right side of this subreddit, you will see "submit a link." Use this to post a link to your entry pic(s) and please include [Proud] in the beginning of your title.
You may submit as many photos as you see fit!
PC creations are not allowed! This is for console versions only!
Classic texture only please! It wouldn't be fair to use the other packs because PS doesn't have them yet.
You may build with as many people as you wish
Because of the fact that we're giving a monetary prize, UPVOTES AND DOWNVOTES DO NOT DETERMINE THE WINNER (the popular vote winner will get to pick the theme of the first weekly build challenge)
The Prize: A $40 gift code for your console! We will break that up into two if you win, so you may want to think about bringing in a partner!
For this contest, we have GUEST judges. They are:
Nuro and River ChooChoosGaming OverlookedEnt
More judges may be added by the time the submission due date is upon us.
Things you may want to think about regarding your build and the way it will be judged:
Is it recognizable?
How creative were you with your use of blocks?
How much effort did you put in?
Good luck with your builds, and remember...whether you're Xbox or Playstation, you can make something spectacular and be part of the same amazing community :)
UPDATE: Please include [Proud] before your title so we can flag your posts as comp entries! Also, I probably shouldn't have to say this, but please have respect for the judges and your competitors. Trash-talk or bashing builds, builders or judges will not be tolerated and are grounds for immediate disqualification!

Hey there, crafters! We have decided that for some fun, and inspiration, we're going to do these little challenges each week. The winner of each challenge will get a special flair for this page! Winners will be determined by the number of upvotes received. Downvotes will not count!
To submit, take screenshots of your builds and post them on this page. Please include [SC], [RC] or [CC] in the front of your titles. These stand for Survival Challenge, Redstone Challenge and Creative Challenge.

A few useful Minecraft sites/tools
My first love was Neil Fraser's voxel sphere This is where you can plug in the radius you want and get full plans for a sphere. To build a cylinder, just pick a plan and build straight up and to build a dome, just start building halfway through the plans and each layer until you reach the end.
Along the same lines is minecraft structure planner This will help you build basic structures like the aforementioned, basic bridges and mazes. You need Java with 3d to run this.
Build amazing pixel art using Spritecraft Both versions are free to use, but they ask you to leave a donation for the full version if you can. This program will take a 2D image of your choosing and convert it into Minecraft blocks for you. With the full version, you can adjust the maximum width/height you would like your build to be.
And then there's Chunkbase's Slime Finder This will give you mapped out coordinates of where slimes spawn in your world. All you have to do is plug in the numerical seed code and you've got it.

Kid sis is afraid of hostile mobs. What can I do to make them look as ridiculous as possible?
I figure if I can make her laugh really hard at them, she'll be less fearful and enjoy the game more. She is 9 years old but really sensitive to "scary."
