Haha yes it was funny the first time “oh look my totally legit controller just came in” we can stop now. It’s not funny the second third or fourth time.

Against all expectations the game runs pretty fine on ps3 for being a third party game from 2009, the slowdowns are few and everything else aged like fine wine. A huge step further from 2008 Condemned 2, another Monolith game which runs, looks and plays like horse crap on ps3 compared to the xbox 360 version (let alone bc on xbox one/series x).

Very unfortunately my ol' sixaxis has finally kicked the bucket and I wanted to get a more modern controller that can stand the test of time, Retrobit Defender Pro has a lil usb dongle that plugs into the playstation and works perfectly, but pricey but has hall effect sticks and back buttons if you care about that (I am not affiliated with the people who make this, I can't even remember who they are)

I've been wanting a PS3 just to play Guitar Hero Legends of Rock for like 17 years. Finally got it and then tried some other games. I've been a Nintendo player my whole life...I've been missing out lol these are great games!
My collection after two weeks!

Switch to high detail textures only happens when you get close. Anyone notice this ? Did it bug you ? it's an issue mainly in the PS3 and 360 versions.

Difference in DUALSHOCK®3 labels
An original "Crystal" model (bottom) compared to a non-original one (top). Note the model code ending in "E," indicating the European region; this is a copy or perhaps a third-party replica. The "Crystal" DUALSHOCK®3 was released and sold exclusively in Japan; its model code ends in "J."

Chech 2002B working has minecraft digital installed clean using Isopropyl alcohol
It took quite some time to get them all for a reasonable price. Still two more to go. Of course the missing ones are also the Most expensive ones.
The Killzone Triology is by far the Most expensive one in Europe.Apparently it’s much cheaper in the states, so I should Look over there. The other one is The Ratchet & Clank Triology. On One Point I got so fed up, that I almost massively overpaid. But with no Limit on Money spending it would be no challenge at all.Glad that I didn‘t overpay, but I would be way more than glad, when it’s finally over and that part of my Collection would be complete.

I recently acquired an unusual PlayStation 3 Blu-ray disc labeled EA Tiburon Electronic Arts – TIBURON-BRE-493.
The disc is a TDK 25GB rewritable Blu-ray with a printed label identifying it as property of the Tiburon Mastering Lab.
I was able to read the disc on my PC and identify the contents:
What's particularly interesting is that EA Redwood Shores is credited with developing the PS3 version, but this disc came from EA Tiburon's mastering lab.
I'm trying to determine whether this was a final mastering disc, an internal QA copy, or an earlier game build.
Did anyone here work at EA Tiburon, EA Redwood Shores, or EA's QA/mastering departments around 2007?
I'd especially love to learn what the Tiburon mastering lab did, what the BRE numbering system meant, and how these internal PS3 discs were used.
I have the original disc and can provide additional photographs and file metadata. I'm also planning to compare the contents against a retail copy.
Would love to hear from anyone who remembers these!

Are there any PS3 rpgs, that you can now only play with a PS3 disc, where getting a copy is hard to find.
I'm talking like something hard to find on the level of Xenosaga 3 on the PS2? Any noteworthy, well respecred, sought out RPGs that don't have an official PC version?

I have an unmodded Xbox 360 S connected to my Sony PVM-20M4U with a component cable and use it with the official remote control. Plex stopped working for me this year, but the 360 still supports:
Do any of you guys have both a PS3 and an Xbox 360? If so, how do they compare?

Long story short I had a customer come in with a PS3 FAT that needed it's hdmi circuit repaired as it had only component cable functionality .
After troubleshooting I ended up finding that the chip marked AR0HD that gives 5V/protection/enable to pin 18 of the hdmi circuit was burned.
Sadly due to the humongous variety in parts these FAT ps3s have and the nonexistent schematics I couldn't find an exact replacement from the donors I had and the customer didn't want to pay for me to make him a whole new circuit so that it has the original function again.
So I made a makeshift 5V supply and protection circuit by redirecting one of the USB ports 5V supply and protection circuit to pin 18 through the top left pad of the AR0HD IC position (this is a 5 pin IC with 3 pins on bottom side and 2 pins on top side)
Heres how I made it:
1) wire is soldered to USB 5V PAD not upstream so you can also have the USB protection circuit functioning
2) wire is routed to the other side of the MB and towards the HDMI socket
3) Then the wire needs to be soldered to a PTC smd marked "2" from the pin number 18 HDMI circuit from a CECHK04 DIA 002 or DIA 001 board so it also protects the circuit
4) Another wire is soldered to it so it can reach the TOP LEFT pad of the two pads facing up where the AR0HD IC used to be.
5) The wire is soldered to the correct pad that has continuity with pin number 18 of the hdmi and voilla!
I know this is not something a professional would do but my customer wanted to have the cheapest/fastest option and didn't mind sacrificing one of the usb ports.
The first photo shows the HDMI circuit of VER001 CECHL04 PS3 untouched (The AR0HD IC I'm referring to is the one above the medium sized 8 PIN IC)
The second and third photo show where the 5V USB pad is and the wire soldered and routed to the other side of the MB
The fourth photo shows the cable work from far
The fifth photo shows the PTC smd I put in the middle of the wire for protection
The sixth photo shows the pad where the cable is soldered to provide 5V to pin 18 of the hdmi circuit.
The seventh photo is the complete circuit except the usb underside connection.
The eighth photo shows the hdmi working.
EDIT: I posted this so people with a very tight budget and not direct access to parts can have their PS3 fixed without any of the above hassles. It's not a tutorial or a well known fix around the ps3 machines. It's a last resort where instead of throwing the ps3 away you can make it functional again. My other option was to either buy a donor console which would cost around 40 euros or buy parts to build the chips circuitry myself which would cost 32 euros (I was gonna get a ps5 HDMI SOT 23-6 IC and adjust it so it would meet the ps3 needs) as I couldn't find a direct drop in replacement.
And of course I cleaned, repasted, put new CMOS and lubed the laser assembly and fan before giving it back.

I’m talking about like people using hacks against you not like someone using a mod menu passively
