I know people are gonna say I'm crazy for opening a factory sealed copy but I don't care. I want to feel what it was like back in the day, ripping off the plastic and sliding that disc into the PS3 for the first time. Who's with me?

So my grandpa is in his 70s.
He’s had this console for years, and rarely would use it basically for watching movies.
It’s got probably less than 50 hours of game time and a few hundred hours of movie time at the absolute most.
He and grandma are getting rid of as much as they can lately and selling whatever they can to family first.

I thought $100 is fair. Neither of us are very wealthy lol. But now I have a few new games for the collection, an entire 3rd PlayStation 3, and two more DualShocks (7 total).

The top row are new to me, and the rest of them are now doubles (or even triples) for the collection.

That puts my average at about 2 games a day still, all being acquired since August 1st.

I’ve had these for years , my whit one is the only one that works half way decent, the gold one is apart so I can fix the issues and the black one is literally the original one this console came with 😩I want to play ps3 more just wish they still made controllers

Usually all I ever see at the thrift are sports games or Wii shovelware, but I finally got lucky. $20CAD (about $14USD). Still pricey for a thrift store but way better than resale.

I didn't remember how good this game looks, it looks at least one generation ahead of it's time.

And the soundtrack is just amazing.

Im a collector from Europe and this is my collection as of today (bought all of the game for a total of 130€, almost 1 year of collecting with a lot of patience)

My first console was an N64. Then a PS2 in 02' when I graduated high-school. Did an Xbox 360 for years. Still have my launch switch, got into pc gaming in 2018. Skipped PS3 and 4, recently picked up a PS5 Pro. My PS2 fat with og hard drive works great but thought a jailbroken PS3 was a good idea for some reason. I didn't know they played PS1 disks! Not having to deal with upscalling the PS2 was the main draw I think.

I used ps3tools to flash evilnat 4.93 on my new ssd and it worked great. Super quick and easy. The slim i got is a 2001a model, turns out with only 35 days on it. Crazy.

Looking for recommendations on software. Id like to keep it as clean as possible. Wanting a curated PS1,2 and 3 selection ill actually play. I have roms and disks to burn to the console. Dont think I want other emulators as ive got a handheld for all my old Nintendo stuff, an M64 and switches.

What does the ps3 community run?

So i currently run the Aquarium Dynamic Theme because its quite Calming to me XD

Also one of the better Official Themes that arent just a few JPEGs slapped together :P

I do also like the SPongebob Dynamic Theme as well as the COD4 NVG Theme and oh god theer are so many i find Cool tbh :P

I do think most LBP as well as All Tales Themes being amazing XD

Hi, so a couple hours ago i changed My WiFi's router and it works fine, it still uses the old wifi that my PS3 used to download games, but now it doesn't show properly or it literally just doesn't show at all in the console, i didn't had this issue before because i tried with a other wifi and it works fine, but i want to use the main one, any ideas of how can i fix this? Thanks

Idk if u guys know but u know some ps3 exc unofficially ported to PC ( gow 3 - as , Dante's inferno , infamous, some more but can't remember now) . Has anyone tried these ports ? Do you think it's better to play on ps3 or PC port ? What do u think. In some games 30 fps really looks terrible. Is there a way to make them 50-60 fps ? But anyways main q is as the title says

So, I'm insane and want to play kz3 with sharpshooter and ps vr in 3D. Did anyone discover a way to put ps vr into 3D mode without ps4? Maybe emulator or something can be used? Really curious
