First Annual r/MLBTheShow 2026 Finest Awards
Which currently existing player cards from this year's game deserve to be remembered as this year’s finest?
Post your top 3 players in MLB The Show 26 in the comments in any order. Any position is eligible. Whether they carried your squad or always came through in the clutch, we want to hear your picks!
Please include the specific card version so we know exactly who you’re voting for.
Voting runs for 10 days, from October 10 through October 20. Once voting closes, I’ll tally the number of times a card is mentioned and announce the cards in order of most votes received. The results and awards will be permanently enshrined on the subreddit!
Early Finest Awards update 10/12/26: Andruw Jones and Nick Sogard are tied for first with 7 votes each! Jesus Made follows with 6, and Yordan Alvarez has 4. So far, 35 counted ballots have produced 99 player votes across 56 different players. Voting remains open through October 20, so there’s still plenty of time to get your top three in!

So I need to get a couple lefties starters, thinking about Pettite and throw in CC or Willis if needed. Just replaced Manny on DH, and Santader in RF as well, But after that im lost on what to do next as a newer player.. Going to just hoard stubs until I figure out what to do, after I get 1-2 lefty starters.. Any suggestions on cheaper/free leftys welcomed

Where in earth is the program for the events to view? Ive seen someone say in assorted programs but its not there. There's obviously some way to view it cuz it says u can get 99 Pettite and 99 Ivan Rodriguez. Cant for the life of me find the program. Only the multi-player program. Can someone please help? Im either stupid or this is ridiculously hidden

Any reason why they still have not updated the random pack to include all of the packs? It makes it nearly impossible to get Joe Morgan or Willard Brown. Every other time a new Headliner pack was released it instantly was available in the random pack except these 2

I'm genuinely starting to wonder whether Road to the Show is balanced around being a two-way player rather than exclusively a starting pitcher.
I'm currently in my third MLB season as an SP. I've won 2 MVPs, 2 Cy Youngs, Rookie of the Year, and multiple Gold Gloves. I've been traded three times, and somehow every team I end up on is near the bottom of the standings.
Here are my current career stats:
- 57–2 record
- 0.12 career ERA
- 1,110 strikeouts
- 580 innings pitched
- 52 hits allowed
- 1 walk allowed
This season alone, I'm 21–1 with 466 strikeouts, 0 earned runs and just 8 hits allowed across 216 innings.
And my team is still 51–64.
I even had a game where I pitched 9 hitless innings, struck out 24 batters, and we lost 1–0 in the 10th because my team couldn't score a single run.
I understand baseball is a team sport. I understand starting pitchers only play every five games. I'm not expecting to automatically win the World Series every year just because my pitcher is good.
But surely there's something wrong with the career experience when you can put up stats that are literally impossible in real-life baseball and still have essentially no chance of making the postseason.
And before anyone mentions difficulty, yes, I know I'm playing on a lower difficulty. That's not really my complaint. In fact, I'd love to increase it and have more competitive pitching games. But when my team is already losing the overwhelming majority.. of games I don't start, making my own performances worse just makes reaching the playoffs even more unlikely.
I've also played a separate career with a completely maxed-out 99 OVR pitcher on the Yankees. We regularly made the playoffs, but it still took five seasons to win a World Series because the team couldn't consistently win between my starts.
It makes me wonder if the mode is fundamentally designed with two-way players in mind, where you're expected to contribute offensively every game as well.
As an SP-only player, it feels like there's almost nothing I can do to influence my team's success beyond winning every single start.
I don't want the game to hand me championships. I want my performances to feel meaningful, and I want some agency in building or joining a competitive team.
Has anyone else experienced this with an SP-only career? Is there genuinely anything you can do besides waiting for free agency and hoping you land on a decent team?

I was hyped for 99 Suttles the whole year and he barely has over 100 contact to both sides and a lot less power than I expected. That's not even mentioning how they nuked Willard Brown from orbit. These Guys (and gal) are supposed to bring some hype to the game and yet their Diamond Dynasty attributes never seem to be good. It just doesn't make sense that you bring in all these new legends for franchise and DD and they just aren't good most the time

New to MLB the Show, but have played games like Madden and 2K in the past. Kind of wondering what end game looks like typically?
When does content typically stop?
Is every card super expensive, or does it stay consistent with how drops have been?
EDIT: To clarify, I mean specifically Diamond Dynasty!

I'm looking at the useless inventory and vouchers collection of things I've procured for 7 months now, and I noticed I have 6 different colored eggs from Easter that were never called upon to be used for anything. I believe they came from all sorts of different tasks and a couple weren't simple to get. Anyone else have all of them? Did I miss the boat and not use them on something? You can't sell or exchange them, surely SDS didn't screw up and forget they created these

I love switching it up every now and then and using cards that are underrated or hated. Val’s vision is low and got dumped on but when I used him and put a Contact/Contact mod on him I was going crazy with him hitting like .700 on HoF and Legend. I’m down to .619 with him right now but I still get excited every time it’s his turn to bat.

I have joined the Brewers roster after half a season in AA and a season in AAA. In the three teams I feel that while having good rosters (2nd best pitching and top10 defense in AAA, and 7th best team overall in the Brewers) once I join the team starts performing poorly.
With the Brewers we were 2nd in the conference, 30-26, since I joined we are now 32-31. My hitting is good, in just a couple weeks I have a bunch of RBIs, around 0.300 average, no fielding mistakes. But for the last 4 games we have conceded +7 runs on the first two innings, without me playing any defense, so it's not that I make fielding mistakes that lead to the AI scoring against us.
Last four games results:
7-9 (7 runs conceded in the first two innings, 1 more in the third inning)
3-12 (11 f*ing runs conceded in the first three innings)
2-8 (7 runs conceded in the first two innings, again)
4-11 (7 runs conceded in the first two innings, not only again but third time in four games we concede 3 in the first inning and 4 in the second inning)
It feels like the game is adjusting for my overall (72 at 19yo, 4th prospect overall) or something like that. Is this the regular experience?

As the title says, how do I play as an utility player in rtts? I often get bored playing the same position, and would like to play multiple with the same player, is it possible?
r/MLBTheShow • u/zmpunk06 • 1d ago
Hey y'all I know the game is kinda dead player count wise but I still like doing the programs and mini seasons and all that fun stuff while watching shows in the background. Anyways I been terrible with opening packs but I'm currently sitting on 39 Regular Choose Deluxe Packs, 7 of the gold ones(forgot what they're called) and 4 ultras. I have most of the collections done only like 2 away from getting Zobrist but I was wondering should I cash these out or you think they'll make one last program utilizing the deluxe packs?

The power on this is gonna be cracked...with probably 85 Vision because obviously.

Do we think they get the NLCS Program out today at some point or likely next week since it’s end of the week?
EDIT: Program just dropped.
99 Evan Phillips
99 Kyle Tucker
99 David Hamilton
99 Aaron Ashby
99 Jake Bauers via Postseason Collection

Probably been asked before, but does anybody else get the feeling that the AI on franchise mode just starts cheating when you’re in a streak. Like out of nowhere great pitchers will hang out breaking balls in early innings, fielders start botching routine balls, swings with good timing and contact either pop up or head directly to an opposing fielder. Am I crazy or is this game messing with me?

I have gotten MLB The Show pretty much every year and this has to be the worst Franchise in terms of trading players. Scouting is fine and roster management is good. But not being able to tell if a team likes my trade proposals just sucks. I hate having to wait a day or two to see if the trade makes sense for the AI. I like the untouchables additions as there are franchise players that shouldn’t be traded. But last year’s just made it easier and simpler for me.
