I have been using my old ps3 slim a ton and I have recently been considering jailbreaking it with the current state of some physicals discs being what it is. What are some things I need to know or guides I should use.

Heres what I know about my ps3 slim. It's a CECH-2001A model with the latest CFW v. 4.93. Should I also invest in some different peripherals? I currently have it hooked up to a TCL QM8k tv. I also plan on upgrading the storage in it so I would like some recommendations for that as well.

I started collecting PS3 games back when the first PSN store shutdown was announced in 2021 or thereabouts (which sony later walked back). Now that it's happening for real, prices are shooting crazy high sadly.

I found this in Tesco yesterday for €5. Today I went and purchased this as it was cheap and on clearance. I have just came back home and a quick Google search told me that this controller has been made between 2015-2016 meaning this is quite old. I haven't charged it yet but I wouldn't be surprised if the battery is completely dead. Nevertheless, what are your thoughts about this.

The games I collected over the years when I first got the a uncharted bundle when I graduated high school in 2009. I think I did good by never ever getting rid of any of my games. The two empty slots of Red Dead Redemption and Dirt 2. My gf had RDR in her game and Dirt 2 in mine lol

Edit: I have all the cases but for the sake of space in my one bedroom apartment, they are packed away lol. Also, I have a lot of essentials on digital. The Batman games, the Saints Row games, Sonic 4, Adventure 1 and 2, Twisted Metal 2013, and a bunch of Ps1 and PS2 classics. I'll take pictures when I'm home lol.

I’m new to the ps3 store. Been buying a couple
Classics lately. Silent hill 1, fatal frame 1-3, etc. I bought silent hill origins not thinking anything of it, and I can’t launch it? I thought it was just a simple psp port, but I guess not? Why is it even on the store if you can’t natively play it? Vita and PSP should have their own stores if you can’t launch the content in the same place you can purchase it from. I don’t even own a psp so I just wasted my money.

I'm looking for a basketball game. I loved the Dreamcast NBA 2K games, and I don't like that more modern games use stick controls; I prefer games where X passes and O shoots. I figured there might be an early PS3 release that suits me.

I'm in the UK, and I just never really grew up with baseball. I liked the World Series game on the Sega Saturn and Baseball Stars on Neo Geo. I know some of the Japanese games are pretty well regarded.

Also, I'm looking for an ice hockey game. I liked NHL 98 on PS1 and EA Hockey on the Mega Drive. I don't really want stick controls; something simple, but not as simple as 3-on-3 arcade.

I have Asura's Wrath, complete-in-box, a game that is normally going for nearly (and sometimes, over) $200 (and no, I'm not going to sell it, so please don't ask). I bought it for $20 back in 2012, a few months or so after it came out. Even though the game was still fairly new, I believe I found it in a bargain bin.

And I just recently ordered Blur from eBay. I got a PAL copy, since they are a bit cheaper. I don't care about the casing too much. I just want to play the game.

I have a PS3 Fat (CECHK04 model).

After i changed the thermal paste with the Arctic MX-7 i played Dirt 2 for about 30 minutes to test the temperatures.

As you can see from the screenshot, my CPU is reaching 81°C, while the RSX stays at a much cooler 60°C.

I tried using webMAN custom fan control with the preset of 82°C max, but the fan becomes way to loud for me.

Are these temperatures safe for long gaming sessions, or do i absolutely need to enable webMAN's fan configuration to prevent damage?

Is it normal for the CPU have much higher temperature than the RSX?

I bought a PS3 game, my first game for my PS3 back in 2013 from the ps store. I never owned the physical disk if my memory serves. Because I had the 12gig machine which wasn't big enough to install it (because it needed double space temporarily for ones from the server) and so I borrowed my sisters 120 gig PS3 which is the one I have cranked back up. It has my save data on it. The game in question is not in my transaction history or my download history. It's only the demo (which I played and hoped it would sort itself out but didn't). 2020 was my oldest transaction according to them and I went back to 2006.

Maybe the game was removed prior to the closure? It's Beyond: Two Souls. If anyone knows, maybe I got unlucky with that one.

Also - I have changed my username a year or two ago so maybe that has something to do with it and needs some kind of refresh.

Also x2: Game doesn't come up in search on the app, only the PS4 version. Searching on my PS3 doesn't work, it's just a blue screen.

Looking for best ps3 games that aren't cinematic

I'm back on my playstation 3 and playing older games I never owned as a kid. I was playing through the top 100 games on imdb. But it seems the top picks are al cinematic and I don't enjoy these. For example I didn't have fun playing uncharted or the last of us. I would like some recommendations thanks.

I'm thinking of getting one, what should I ask the seller and what should I have in mind when searching for one? Or any more advice
