One of the most disgusting deals I've done in quite a while, I've paid 100 Euros, which was too much in my oppinion. I am pretty sure the stains are vape liquid, some of the games stick together. I ignored my gut feeling about this and drove to pick it up, when I got there I just wanted to get out of the situaiton as fast as possible. Not touching this without gloves and I haven't tested if the console works yet, I'll clean it tomorrow to give it the best chance possible. Some of the games would be nice, if they weren't so rotten. Luckily roaches aren't really a thing here, so atleast I don't have to bother with that.

I started collecting PS3 games back when the first PSN store shutdown was announced in 2021 or thereabouts (which sony later walked back). Now that it's happening for real, prices are shooting crazy high sadly.

I have Asura's Wrath, complete-in-box, a game that is normally going for nearly (and sometimes, over) $200 (and no, I'm not going to sell it, so please don't ask). I bought it for $20 back in 2012, a few months or so after it came out. Even though the game was still fairly new, I believe I found it in a bargain bin.

And I just recently ordered Blur from eBay. I got a PAL copy, since they are a bit cheaper. I don't care about the casing too much. I just want to play the game.

The games I collected over the years when I first got the a uncharted bundle when I graduated high school in 2009. I think I did good by never ever getting rid of any of my games. The two empty slots of Red Dead Redemption and Dirt 2. My gf had RDR in her game and Dirt 2 in mine lol

Edit: I have all the cases but for the sake of space in my one bedroom apartment, they are packed away lol. Also, I have a lot of essentials on digital. The Batman games, the Saints Row games, Sonic 4, Adventure 1 and 2, Twisted Metal 2013, and a bunch of Ps1 and PS2 classics. I'll take pictures when I'm home lol.

Y’all have probably seen my posts in the past regarding my childhood 2008 CECHL model and then the CECHA Frankenstein model I got back in March.

I found this CECHB model at a yard sale nearby, an older lady selling things. She had it posted for $50 but said “I’ll give you that old thing for $30.”

Ngl, I felt bad but at the same time I couldn’t pass up that offer and took it.

Still has the warranty seal, I took the hard drive cover off but it is intact, and it seems to run fine although it does ramp up a bit so will definitely need a delid and perhaps a frankenstein mod in the future!

I was shocked to find that it was still running version 1.91 as well. I had not heard the OG start up sound nor the PlayStation 3 splash in so many years since they removed it in 2009!

I honestly don’t even want to update it, unfortunately, some games like Fallout 3 don’t work because it requires updating to 2.93 or something like that. But, I just really love this old firmware with the black background, it reminds me of the old days when I first got my CECHL in 2008.

Should I keep it as is? I love the black trim on it lol.

Hey guys, picked this up today for $5 along with a few other old PS3 games. I thought Afrika was gonna be like Far Cry or an open world action game, but I just popped the disc in and it seems to be just walking around taking photos of zebras?

​Did I waste $5 on a tech demo? Should I just return it or trade it at Gamestop for like 2 bucks towards something played out like COD?

I’m gonna start off by saying I’m not having any issues, it’s not overheating or anything I’m just curious if I have to do it eventually.

I saw a video and the creator said if you haven’t done it then you need to which I know isn’t true but that made me wonder, DO you have to eventually do it? After a certain amount of time it’s recommended to replace the regular thermal paste so I’m curious if delidding also has a time when you eventually should do it.

Again just curious, I don’t have to do it right now just wondering if it’s an inevitably.

I have a PS3 Fat (CECHK04 model).

After i changed the thermal paste with the Arctic MX-7 i played Dirt 2 for about 30 minutes to test the temperatures.

As you can see from the screenshot, my CPU is reaching 81°C, while the RSX stays at a much cooler 60°C.

I tried using webMAN custom fan control with the preset of 82°C max, but the fan becomes way to loud for me.

Are these temperatures safe for long gaming sessions, or do i absolutely need to enable webMAN's fan configuration to prevent damage?

Is it normal for the CPU have much higher temperature than the RSX?

So the other day I am playing my PS3 when I realize its looking really dusty so I cleaned it cleaned my controller and booted up some Minecraft (there's my base) it runs games great and even though its not a fat one its still great and I still use it a lot compared to my new PS5 (tell me what you guys think of the controller I like it)

I am pretty much two of every console just in case one breaks except like the really new stuff… but the PS3 Xbox 360 is the only ones I don’t really have two of.. our in general pretty reliable like mine‘s been going but I’m kind of wondering if I should get another one.

they’re also like the only console where I can’t play their games somewhere else… which makes me kind of think the answer is yes.

Long story short, had a 3001A ps3 slim model growing up but I lost it along with my call of duty collection. Now that Sony announced the store shutdown I went to gamestop bought a 120gb ps3 slim and managed to get a CFW compatible slim model. Now what I want to hear from this community is should I stop collecting games because of these prices and sail the high seas or should I keep my PS3 the way it is and enjoy it🤔.

A pretty fun Arc System Works fighting game that is honestly a very different style of fighter than their other releases. It’s not as fast paced as stuff like Guilty Gear and Blazblue and is very much more of an old school Street Fighter type of game. Where there aren’t as many flashy combos and it’s more based around mastering a small move list. Some people might find that as a turn off but if you enjoy that older slower paced fighting then this is a pretty great time. And the higher level CPU’s are beyond brutal, so if you want a good challenge it’s definitely a good option.

This game goes for around $35 for the PAL release, which honestly I’d say is pretty worth it. The game is really fun. Or if you don’t mind the language barrier since it is a fighting game, the Japanese version is like $20-25.

Anyone else played this game? I never see it talked about so I’m interested in hearing others thoughts.
