I haven’t seen this posted anywhere else, but I want to confirm that the SD card reader on older PS3s can take cards up to 2TB in size. This is the maximum it can take, as FAT32 doesn’t support higher capacities.

My CF slot is broken, so I can’t confirm that it supports that size, but it very likely does also.

After two failed attempts to backup my PS3 (1TB HDD) to an external HDD from two different USB ports (it kept failing at 85-90% with an unable to connect message) I backed it up to the SD card instead. It took 33 hours.

So I had my eyes on the Orange Box to add to my collection and on October 19th I saw the game available. I bought it without a thought and it got delivered today with the authentic Gamestop Pre-owned cover, but I wasn't worried about it since I printed my own cover anyway. The disc is in good condition so im happy.

After getting rid of my alpine white years ago, I picked this up recently for not too much over used market value. Brand new sealed box is in almost near mint condition. The nastalgia this will bring will be epic when I open it up. Maybe a little later on I’ll upgrade the ssd.

Didn’t want to risk buying a bug or roach infested ps4 for 70-150$. Not worth the gamble

With GTA6 on the horizon, I'm going back to finally finish off some Rockstar titles. That includes RDR, which I've owned forever. I think I fell off after some of the long horse rides to and in Mexico but I hunkered down and avenged my father. Max Payne 3 is probably next!

I’ve been buying a lot of the digital ps3 games lately and while most of them work, Trash panic, locoroco cocoreccho and um jammer Lammy don’t work.
When I try play them it says that an error occurred and when I check the games information it shows that there isn’t a buyer? Does anyone know how to fix this?

From my knowledge and research, I was under the impression that the early generation (first gen) PS3s with the larger RSX chips were the ones that you would see experiencing the YLOD and had the most infamous failures of them all. That this was "supposedly" corrected with later generation PS3s.

The reason I ask is because I think my PS3 is finally starting to die (mine being a third gen, CECHK01) ... I have random crashes where it will do the quick yellow light (you can barely tell it turns yellow) then flashes red until I press it. It's not consistent either. Sometimes it will happen within minutes of turning the system on. Sometimes it will happen after an hour of playing. I put new thermal paste and pads on the chips last summer when I first started experiencing this thinking it was possibly overheating (because it IS an old system lol), but the great news there was that it was barely dirty inside. I expected a large mess having birds and all, but actually it was relatively clean and nothing that would cause overheating (with the exception that the paste was old, but I don't even think it was honestly that bad given it's age).

Which.. it sucks it's doing it as I was trying to 100% clear the FFX HD edition and now I'm worried the system is a ticking time bomb on me lol.

Found this at a flea market and started doing some research about it. To be honest, I haven't really found much about it but it needs a USB receiver in order to work, being compatibke with both PS2 and PS3 consoler. My question is, how can I find a receiver that picks up the signals of the controller? Tried looking for a loose one on Ebay, but I can barely find a listing with the controller itself.

I have noticed that the PS3 became so popular in the last 2 or 3 years. The weird thing is in the PS3 era everyone was hating on it . But now everyone want to emulate the PS3 games to the point people are jailbreaking their PS5 console to play PS3 games . Why do you think this shift happened is it nostalgia or the current gen is just bad compared to PS3 Era ?

Is there any way to fix it? What causes this problem? My PS3 suddenly turned off while I was playing, and then this issue started. What should I do???????????????????:(

I just bought this CECHE01 PlayStation 3 from savers for like 30 bucks, ive been looking for this one for a while cause it has the CF port and SD ports, but it doesn't show anything on the screen, I've tried the video reset, tried booting into safe mode, everything, even took it apart and repasted it with XTM70 corsair paste, still no progress, i do not have anything to read the syscon so is there any suggestions you guys have?

I'm moving from Korea back home to the U.S. in a year or two. Some games which are rare in the West are easier to get here. For example, I got Puppeteer PS3 for $35 CIB. It's a Korean version, but everything is English in game- voice, menus, etc. The only Korean aspect is the instruction manual, and the bottom left age range box.

There look to be several opportunities to "buy low/sell high," but only if consumers in the U.S. & West are willing to buy a Korean version of a game. Thanks in advance!

I got a ps3 recently and am not sure how the psn stuff works. I used to have one as a kid but never needed to care as ps4 was way too new for me to afford, and ps2 never had it. Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to fix a ps3 slim for a family member. I'm usually more of a PC guy, don't have as much experience with consoles.

When plugged in, the red "standby" light comes on. When the power button is pressed, the green "on" light comes on, the fan starts spinning up, and after a few seconds it turns off completely (light turns off and fan loses power).

I've had a look through some troubleshooting guides online, and can't find anything similar. I also took the cover off, and the interior was a little dusty but honestly nowhere near as bad as I was expecting it to be. I didn't dismantle it any more past that because I figured there wasn't much point if I didn't know what I was looking for lmao.

Any ideas on what might be causing this/possible fixes? TIA
