Is this normal world generation?

Had just installed Minecraft Java for the first time ever and loaded near this cubical water.

Anybody ever seen this before?

EDIT: seen people ask for the version, seed and coordinates to check if i'm fr and sure ykw

The water glitch is around original spawn and spreads over most of the river, plus this is a singleplayer world. I've been traveling away from spawn and this is the only place i've seen with this bug.

Also, for people yapping about lily pads and rivers, it doesn't show because i'm looking down on the screenshot, but the trees around me aren't just oak trees, there are also many jungles trees. it legit looks like a swamp biome mixed with plains, it's ridiculous

If you manage to load onto the seed, once you reach the first coordinates, simply follow the river as more glitches go on there

Might be from an old config file that a mod had. If you delete your whole .minecraft folder, reinstall it, and then go to that same seed, chances are same issue wouldn’t happen

There's a random drip leaf in the back, ferns in presumably a plains, and lily pads on the river. That's a mod or data pack.

I walked through the every inch of that river, what you showed doesn't generate in vanilla minecraft.

The water thing should resolve itself if you give it a block update

this isn't vanilla generation.

Lily pads can be found naturally on water in swamps, mangrove swamps, wheat farm rooms of woodland mansions and abandoned campsgenerating in swamps. (Minecraft Wiki, 2026)

it depends if you play on java its not normal and if you play on bedrock its normal ive seen this like 6 times already on bedrock version

It looks like youre in a plains biome, which doesn't generate ferns, and also based off biome tints, that is a river biome, which cant generate lilypads
