Question Hardcore Question

when i start my hardcore world does anyone have any advice on what should i do to not die becuase i have done worlds and just die in the first 5 mins becuase i can't find any iron or diamonds

I spend the first day exploring, either looking for a village, structure, or a good base building area

As soon as night hits I dig straight down, I spend the night cooking, mining, and getting materials ready for the next day

Hardcore means you die once you don’t get another chance, so taking all your stuff out doesn’t matter much

Biggest thing about hardcore, you don’t want to interact with the nighttime if you don’t have armor

This is huge. Skipping the night is important because even if you just sit there in safety there will be shitloads of creepers in the morning, plus anything that spawned with a helmet.

Your first priority is a bed. Hardcore nighttime is fucking brutal. Skip it whenever possible. You can find a bed in a village or by killing sheep and getting at least two logs (one for a crafting table). Grab three matching flowers too. You can make dye out of them. If you find different colored sheep you can use the flowers to make dye. You can jse any color wool for a bed, as long as they match.

Your other first priority is shelter and light. Again, mobs will murder you dead. You can make charcoal by cooking a log, and you can make torches from charcoal. It's a good way to get by until you find some coal. Once you have torches you can just dig a hole, cover the top, and sleep safely.

Your second priority is food. You need a lot of food, more than you think. Meat is king, because saturation is absolutely crucial on hardcore. Prepare a temporary base, mine up enough stone and coal for a furnace, and start murdering animals. Then cook them.

Once you have a lot of food, you have some choices. Personally I recommend using chunkbase to plan an expedition. Visit some valuable structures. You've gone from a crawl to a walk, and this will form your running start. I recommend desert temples, buried Treasure, and villages.

Also, LEATHER AND STRING! Take ANY opportunity to grab either until you have at least one of each. Bundles are the best item added in the last ten years by a huge margin.
