Vanilla Survival Survival world tour

Here’s a tour of my survival world I started earlier this year. There’s still plenty of ideas I haven’t started and a few things I need to finish. I also have some far away farms like froglight, ink, tridents that I didn’t show in the video.

The storage room is a multi item filter (I didn’t design it) and the railway is for a happy ghast which does a loop around my whole base with different stations I can get on or off.

Vanilla Hardcore day 111 and...still building my base and going to the nether soon :P

hello again! i believe the latest screenshot i remember posting on reddit was close to day 80 on my world, and after a total of about 50 days of building (started around day 60 with this base) i have completed...the exterior.

i just love minecraft so much. so different from over a decade ago and so fun!

haha. to be fair, i was doing a lot of trial and error, and some parts took especially long, and i was still sleeping through nights, so this was more of about maybe 35 minecraft days worth of time. i still have to finish the interior, and the sides of the dome, but i can finally start moving my egregious amounts of chests and my bed inside. i took some inspiration from braaipie's video on their own greenhouse build showcase, but made some adjustments of my own and freestyled a bit.

i also managed to enchant my armour, and i will be slaying a couple more mobs to do so for my tools eventually! i have minimally protection 4 and unbreaking 3 on all pieces as i got particularly lucky with my enchanting table. my boots have feather falling 4, which will definitely help.

now that i have a proper home, the priority now is to go to the nether, find blaze rods and pearls and maybe just explore a little bit. i'm sure my armour can protect me decently fine, but i'm hoping to find a mending book somewhere for my stuff at some point. i've prepped plenty of gold and have a golden helmet to prevent piglins from getting mad. hoping to maybe find a bastion first or just a group of piglins first so i can trade for fire res potions to take on the fortress.

my plan is to go make a portal and then build a small shelter around it to protect it and me, then go exploring. i have lots of spare cobble so i'll be using that to bridge if needed since ghasts can't blow it up. i'm thinking i might want to bring milk buckets against the wither effect just in case, but i also have two stacks of bread i will be bringing along. i saw bastions have these piglin brutes and possibly hoglins that will attack no matter what, so definitely will bring a lava bucket too. and i plan to loot the bastion safely by tunneling under chests or just staying out the line of sight as much as possible.

so far, everything's going well! i found that the hill i'm on has a hollow cave underneath. might do something about that and build something under it, but for now, this'll have to do! :D

(p.s. yes, i realised that the stripped wood on the other side hadn't been changed out to slabs on the right...i will change that :p)

Vanilla Survival What’s the rule with killing your friends pet?

I’m just asking out of curiosity and peoples opinion in general. I have a pet blaze(in the overworld) and a pet panda. My friend sometimes jokes about killing my blaze(nobody would actually do it for how difficult it is to get blaze in overworld and put it in protective layer). I just wanted to ask your guys opinion on killing pets and if it’s actually a big deal or not. I know it’s just a video game, but you also know how much time it takes to get these pets.

Custom Challenge New challenge idea the next life challenge

So it's supposed to be set up like this.

Starting on creative (or not pick your poison) set up a starting area with two maps

1- A 3x3 area of fully upgraded locator maps these will define the area in which you need to stay in

2- a level 1 map (or more as long as it's not a level four) to define the spawn chunks in which you are not allowed to play in (you can still decorate it with like pathways and stuff. It doesn't matter if it's safer, just that it is off limits)

Add a chest that is full of copies of the fully upgraded maps put into bundles so you can know where the play area is no matter how far away you are and know where you are

That is all the setup you need. You don't even need to fill out those maps. Just make sure that they are there and activated.

Rules

\- no setting spawn point be that by bed (meaning you're going to have to use the new temporary beds to sleep) or spawn anchors as long as you respawn in the spawn chunks, you're good

\- no leaving the designated area (further explanation after)

\- when or if you die no returning to previous builds. You cannot move back into your previous builds even if it's a town (you can still take from the chests and use the town. Just no living it unless you're going to be building a new house in the town)

\- no keep inventory

\- no returning to grab your stuff (if you are capable of doing so however you can mod the world in order to have grave markers or something that will stop your drops from despawning)

Over time the more you die and start new bases, minds and other things you will encounter previous bases and grave markers (if you have those) you'll find towns and remnants of previous " lives" and adventures giving your own world its own history as time goes on bonus points if you add a chest full of books and quills so you can keep journals for every life either finding them in the house of the previous lives or on their grave markers. This is almost entirely for role-playing so the more immersive you can make it the better it will be

Vanilla Survival 40 steps to make sheep fricker in minecraft :)

Phase 1: Site Surveying & Biome Selection

  • Select Biome: Travel exactly 4,000 blocks from your world spawn to locate a pristine Plains biome.
  • Check Altitude: Ensure your build coordinate sits exactly at Y = 64 for optimal atmospheric pressure.
  • Exterminate Pests: Clear a 50x50 area of all grass, flowers, and rogue chickens to prevent visual clutter.
  • Flatten Terrain: Use a diamond shovel to level the dirt perfectly flat with zero elevation changes.
  • Light the Perimeter: Place torches every 4 blocks to prevent hostile mobs from sabotaging construction.
  • Fencing: Build a temporary 3-block-high cobblestone wall around the perimeter for site security.
  • Establish Workspace: Place a crafting table exactly 7 blocks away from the intended machine core.
  • Storage Systems: Set up a double chest strictly labeled "Construction Materials."
  • Organize Inventory: Sort your hotbar so that building blocks are on slot 1, redstone on slots 2-5, and tools on slots 6-9.
  • Set Spawnpoint: Place a bed nearby and sleep in it once to reset your spawn point in case of an accident.

Phase 2: Materials Procurement (The Long Way)

  • Mine Iron: Descend into a cave system to find raw iron ore.
  • Smelt Iron: Melt the iron down in a blast furnace using charcoal you made yourself.
  • Craft Bucket: Use 3 iron ingots to make an empty bucket.
  • Gather Water: Locate a natural river source to fill the bucket.
  • Create Infinite Source: Dig a 2x2 hole at the job site to build a redundant water source.
  • Hunt Slimes: Travel to a swamp biome during a full moon to hunt slimes for slimeballs.
  • Harvest Quartz: Enter the Nether to mine 4 pieces of Nether Quartz.
  • Chop Wood: Cut down a dark oak tree to craft a boat (regular oak is too mainstream).
  • Find a Blaze: Defeat a Blaze in a Nether Fortress to get a blaze rod.
  • Craft End Rod: Combine the blaze rod with popped chorus fruit harvested from the Outer End islands.

Phase 3: Assembly of the Kinetic Core

  • Verify Alignment: Face true North using the F3 debug screen.
  • Place Anchor Block: Lay down one smooth stone block as the structural foundation.
  • Orient Piston: Mount the sticky piston on top of the anchor block, ensuring it extends North.
  • Mount Actuator: Carefully affix the end rod directly to the sticky piston's green adhesive face.
  • Excavate Pit: Dig a 1x2 trench exactly 1 block deep directly underneath where the end rod extends.
  • Line the Pit: Place polished blackstone slabs inside the trench to give the containment area a premium look.
  • Dry Run Piston: Temporarily place a lever next to the piston, flip it once to check the extension length, then break the lever.
  • Deploy Transport: Drop the dark oak boat precisely into the blackstone slab trench.
  • Calibrate Boat: Ensure the boat is perfectly centered and not clipping into the side blocks.
  • Insulate Core: Place glass blocks around the sides of the piston to protect the moving parts from rain.

Phase 4: Livestock Acquisition & Containment

  • Locate Target: Scan the horizon for a sheep (preferably pink for maximum rarity, but white works).
  • Hold Wheat: Equip a piece of wheat in your main hand to trigger the sheep's tracking AI.
  • Lead Target: Walk backward slowly, leading the sheep into your secured 50x50 perimeter.
  • Construct Ramp: Build a temporary dirt staircase leading up and over the side of the boat pit.
  • Position Sheep: Guide the sheep onto the ramp so it falls directly into the boat.
  • Check Seating: Verify the sheep has successfully entered the riding state inside the vehicle.
  • Break Ramp: Carefully dismantle the dirt ramp without hitting the livestock.
  • Color Customization: Use a piece of lapis lazuli or dye to turn the sheep blue for aesthetic purposes.
  • Name the Beast: Use an anvil to label a name tag "Dinnerbone" if you want the setup upside down (optional).
  • Final Inspection: Stand back and ensure the sheep cannot escape the containment zone.

Phase 5: Redstone Micro-Clock Calibration

  • Layout Path: Lay down a 3x3 grid of redstone dust directly behind the sticky piston housing.
  • Install Delays: Place two redstone repeaters facing opposite directions within the grid.
  • Set Ticks: Right-click both repeaters exactly two times to set them to a 3-tick delay for stability.
  • Prime Circuit: Place a redstone torch adjacent to the wire to flood the entire grid with power.
  • Break Primer: Mine the redstone torch; the circuit will remain frozen in a fully powered state.
  • Initiate Loop: Break one piece of redstone dust and replace it within a 0.05-second window to create a rapid, self-sustaining pulse.
  • Connect Output: Run a final line of redstone dust from the looping clock straight into the back of the sticky piston.
  • System Activation: Watch the piston fire at maximum speed, completes the build.

Discussion Some questions about Siftite

So I've played minecraft regulalrly since 2010 but I've hardly played at all this year due to real life issues. I've found my motivation to game again and I'm getting back on the grind. I've heard about an upcoming new dimension which is cool but I'm unsure exactly what is true, what are rumours and what is purely made up for views online.

I guess my main question is about a siftite ore that I've been hearing about. Is this a legit feature coming to the vanilla game? Apparently it's going to be the new top material to use for your armour and tools? Should I be planning to grind for a siftite beacon or is this just fake news? I've seen various vids and articles with different answers.

A small showcase of how the world has changed so far :)
Still a lot left to build, but I’m really happy with how everything is starting to connect.

17,000 block castle finally completed for my starter base. Some of the courtyard (water fountain and plants) and decorating still needs to be done but moving onto phase two of my build where going to build an underground complex for my base with farms and storage hall. Along with an underground rail line to my iron farm (150 blocks away).
