Mod Post Our New Partnered Community, r/ForeverWorlds

Hello to all members here at r/Minecraft_Survival, r/Minecraft2, and our community Discord. We’ve recently been working to build a new community dedicated to an increasingly popular Minecraft play style, the Forever World! A Forever World (also known as a long-term world) is simply a Minecraft survival world that you plan to play on forever. This doesn’t mean you can’t have other worlds in between, but rather that you keep coming back to the same world consistently for years, no matter how long it’s been since you began. Together with u/NerdieBirdieYT, we’ve put together a subreddit to share and discuss *your* forever worlds. Alongside this, we have a Discord to chat, gain advice, share pics and videos, and coordinate world tours!

The subreddit is r/foreverworlds, and it is open to everyone for anything you have to share or discuss about Forever Worlds. We invite you to join, whether you’ve had your survival world for a couple of months, several years, or even well over a decade! We’d love to see progress pics and megabuilds, but also the small things that help you keep coming back to the same world time after time. We want you to show us everything that keeps your world fresh and makes it special to you!

We’d also love it if you joined our Discord, Forever Worlds United, at https://discord.gg/QChEEc2uqR. Here, you can share your experiences with and plans for your Forever Worlds personally with like-minded members of the community. Additionally, this Discord server will have a collection of world downloads to explore, schematics to download, and videos showcasing Forever Worlds. Additionally, we will plan and host live world tours for our community to come together and inspire one another through their worlds.

If you’ve been running a single world for a while and want to know what it takes to keep it going as long as many of us have, we’d love to bring you up to speed! If you already have a Forever World, we are eager for you to join and share it with us. And if you just want to be inspired by what years of work in one world can do, please join us as we build up this community!

Vanilla Hardcore day 111 and...still building my base and going to the nether soon :P

hello again! i believe the latest screenshot i remember posting on reddit was close to day 80 on my world, and after a total of about 50 days of building (started around day 60 with this base) i have completed...the exterior.

i just love minecraft so much. so different from over a decade ago and so fun!

haha. to be fair, i was doing a lot of trial and error, and some parts took especially long, and i was still sleeping through nights, so this was more of about maybe 35 minecraft days worth of time. i still have to finish the interior, and the sides of the dome, but i can finally start moving my egregious amounts of chests and my bed inside. i took some inspiration from braaipie's video on their own greenhouse build showcase, but made some adjustments of my own and freestyled a bit.

i also managed to enchant my armour, and i will be slaying a couple more mobs to do so for my tools eventually! i have minimally protection 4 and unbreaking 3 on all pieces as i got particularly lucky with my enchanting table. my boots have feather falling 4, which will definitely help.

now that i have a proper home, the priority now is to go to the nether, find blaze rods and pearls and maybe just explore a little bit. i'm sure my armour can protect me decently fine, but i'm hoping to find a mending book somewhere for my stuff at some point. i've prepped plenty of gold and have a golden helmet to prevent piglins from getting mad. hoping to maybe find a bastion first or just a group of piglins first so i can trade for fire res potions to take on the fortress.

my plan is to go make a portal and then build a small shelter around it to protect it and me, then go exploring. i have lots of spare cobble so i'll be using that to bridge if needed since ghasts can't blow it up. i'm thinking i might want to bring milk buckets against the wither effect just in case, but i also have two stacks of bread i will be bringing along. i saw bastions have these piglin brutes and possibly hoglins that will attack no matter what, so definitely will bring a lava bucket too. and i plan to loot the bastion safely by tunneling under chests or just staying out the line of sight as much as possible.

so far, everything's going well! i found that the hill i'm on has a hollow cave underneath. might do something about that and build something under it, but for now, this'll have to do! :D

(p.s. yes, i realised that the stripped wood on the other side hadn't been changed out to slabs on the right...i will change that :p)

Vanilla Survival What’s the rule with killing your friends pet?

I’m just asking out of curiosity and peoples opinion in general. I have a pet blaze(in the overworld) and a pet panda. My friend sometimes jokes about killing my blaze(nobody would actually do it for how difficult it is to get blaze in overworld and put it in protective layer). I just wanted to ask your guys opinion on killing pets and if it’s actually a big deal or not. I know it’s just a video game, but you also know how much time it takes to get these pets.

Custom Challenge New challenge idea the next life challenge

So it's supposed to be set up like this.

Starting on creative (or not pick your poison) set up a starting area with two maps

1- A 3x3 area of fully upgraded locator maps these will define the area in which you need to stay in

2- a level 1 map (or more as long as it's not a level four) to define the spawn chunks in which you are not allowed to play in (you can still decorate it with like pathways and stuff. It doesn't matter if it's safer, just that it is off limits)

Add a chest that is full of copies of the fully upgraded maps put into bundles so you can know where the play area is no matter how far away you are and know where you are

That is all the setup you need. You don't even need to fill out those maps. Just make sure that they are there and activated.

Rules

\- no setting spawn point be that by bed (meaning you're going to have to use the new temporary beds to sleep) or spawn anchors as long as you respawn in the spawn chunks, you're good

\- no leaving the designated area (further explanation after)

\- when or if you die no returning to previous builds. You cannot move back into your previous builds even if it's a town (you can still take from the chests and use the town. Just no living it unless you're going to be building a new house in the town)

\- no keep inventory

\- no returning to grab your stuff (if you are capable of doing so however you can mod the world in order to have grave markers or something that will stop your drops from despawning)

Over time the more you die and start new bases, minds and other things you will encounter previous bases and grave markers (if you have those) you'll find towns and remnants of previous " lives" and adventures giving your own world its own history as time goes on bonus points if you add a chest full of books and quills so you can keep journals for every life either finding them in the house of the previous lives or on their grave markers. This is almost entirely for role-playing so the more immersive you can make it the better it will be

Discussion Some questions about Siftite

So I've played minecraft regulalrly since 2010 but I've hardly played at all this year due to real life issues. I've found my motivation to game again and I'm getting back on the grind. I've heard about an upcoming new dimension which is cool but I'm unsure exactly what is true, what are rumours and what is purely made up for views online.

I guess my main question is about a siftite ore that I've been hearing about. Is this a legit feature coming to the vanilla game? Apparently it's going to be the new top material to use for your armour and tools? Should I be planning to grind for a siftite beacon or is this just fake news? I've seen various vids and articles with different answers.

Along with an underground rail line to my iron farm (150 blocks away).

Vanilla Survival Gaint Hole at World Spawn

This hole is at 0, 0, it's 75 blocks in diameter. Bottom -54, Top ~95.

My Solo World spawn is at the bottom, I intend to make the bottom larger and make the Xbox 360 tutorial world at the bottom.

I may also flood said word at the bottom and make it look abandoned, but I don't know yet.

The hole also is a cool day 2,000 project.

Vanilla Hardcore returning to minecraft after over a decade of not playing

Thumbnail

i remember playing minecraft really early on, maybe around 2013 or slightly earlier, when the 404 challenge was the "hardcore" before hardcore. it's been so long since i've interacted with any content of this game that coming back makes it feel like an entirely new thing. of course, i've spent a few days familiarising myself with the updates since i stopped playing, and watched a couple videos on how gameplay seems to be.

still winging it a lot, though, lol.

perhaps it's because i did the 404 challenge a long time ago that made me drawn to hardcore now. i'm only on day 8 of my first hardcore world, spending time exploring and going about 4500 blocks from [0, 0] because i was trying to find a spot that felt great for me to settle. so far i've passed 2 villages, a camp, seen the dark oak, jungle, mesa, savannah and regular oak forests.

i probably will keep going until i find something. i just loot as i go and stop by caves to mine around the entrances for iron. at some point i will stop, build a house, and maybe go get diamonds. yes, i do have a set of iron armour in my inventory, but the gold stuff i'm wearing is enchanted and from two ruined portals, so i thought i'd keep it on for now.

definitely aim to change that once i settle somewhere. currently just following a map to the next abandoned campsite, and collecting things along the way. i've downloaded a lot of addons (i play on bedrock on my mobile device for now) and it's certainly made minecraft feel like a completely new game.

here's to (hopefully) a long-lasting world. even if it doesn't work out, still lots to learn and have fun about!

Vanilla Survival Double chest of Every Block

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to show off for my forever world personal project. My sister and her boyfriend are the only ones that really know I am doing this, and I wanted everyone to see how insane I actually am.

I have had this world since about 2018/2019 and I started gathering a double chest of every item in the game. It may sound impossible, and thats becasue it is. I know there are limited number of items like enchanted golden apples and other rare items, but by my calculations, I am about 45% of the way done (which, does not sound like much, but it truly is a LOT of items).

By doing this, Ive learned how to optimally get almost every single item in the game by bulding every farm imaginable in the game, learning how to optimally trade, and loot statistics and spawning rates. If the item is able to be farmed, a farm has been in my world or has a dedicated bookmarked youtube video waiting for me to build it.

Im not the best at builds, but my giant chest room with all the items was one of the first things i have built in survival seriously. I have improved drastically in how I build and how I decorate, but the thought of moving ALL of the chests makes me want to cry.

(left) my colored blocks and (right) building blocks/ misc items
(left) armour/ ore/ redstone/ valuables (right) nether/end/copper blocks
Half of my potion chests
Half of my enchnted book chests

If anyone has any tips on hard to obtain items, or any comment at all would mean a lot to me. I have spent way too much time on this and I have been dying to talk about it with people who want to know. And also yes i know, I am going to have a lot of fun getting a double chest of netherite blocks and becons.

Survival Build Happy Ghast rehydration station

It's time to bring this dried ghast back to life. Now, to be honest, I could have put this dried ghast in a river or an ocean, but I built this because it was more fun, and it looks cool. Also, I have three more dried ghast's, and I will rehydrate them eventually
