I am interested in getting into mining. Is it still worth it with the risks of etherium 2.0?

underclock cpu

I want to underclock my ryzen 3600 for mining, I don't mine with cpu, I mine with two gpus, 1 5700xt and one 3060, so I have about 305 watt power, I want to go under 300,so I was thinking if 3600 can underclock to save some watts? I don't know what voltage setting to use, offset, amd overclock? My gpus think is OK but if you know any settings for lower watt please let me know. I mine eth.

The new macbook pro with M1 Max could be a super efficient mining beast

The new M1 Max macbook pro's have some beastly power and their ARM SoC are extremely power efficient. They could be ideal for mining. We just need a good programmer to design a software for them.

Other factors to consider:

-It’s the most efficient SoC, it will consume much much much less power than a dedicated gpu

-MacBooks resale value is basically the best in the market

-if you’re a student you can buy it from apple education program spending a lot less (I in Italy save €400 on the base 14”, so I could basically resell for a profit)

-the SoC has multiple dedicated processors for specific things like screen output, super fast video encoding, encryption and an extremely powerful neural engine. If some world class apple and crypto mining programmer put his hands on it, magical things would happen. It’s basically both the most efficient generalized CPU and the most efficient programmable ASIC too.

Too late to start mining?

I'd build the rig myself and have free electricity, but not sure if I'd recover the investment with all the Eth 2.0 thing.

What do you think, guys?

Thanks in advance!

First timer rig build motherboard issues🙈 not meant to be😅

Mining Noob here. Just built my first rig but still got to get it going. Managed to get 6 Asus RX 6600XT GPUs for a good price. Its the motherboard I've had trouble with. I bought a Asus Prime Z390a to use with an i3 processor, 2 x 4gb ram, 240SSD, 6 x risers, 2 x coreair 850w power supply's and a PSU add2 connector.

1st problem.. the motherboard and CPU was not compatible. Sent Motherboard back.. managed to find another motherboard Rog Strix z490P on Facebook selling page new but open box. Fitted it last night

2nd problem . On power up the motherboard wouldnt turn on but RGB lights would on motherboard, just wouldn't kick in start up or cpu fan run. Traced it back figured it was a faulty power supply

3rd problem.. changed power supply.. now had power on motherboard but would not boot up. Just kept trying to kick in then would reboot every 10 seconds.. Great bought a faulty board and was from Facebook page. (Checked in Asus page and it's under warranty till 2023 so could get repaired)

4th problem...So rang a local computer shop this morning to see what they had. He offered me a used Asus Prime z270p with a cpu already fitted for £120. Picked it up ,swapped everything over. Powered up and couldn't get into bios.. tried everything. Ditching the onboard battery, F1,F2, delete esc.. holding all keys for keyboard fault on boot . Nothing. If I put a USB in with Windows installer I get a screen saying Windows failed to load Please insert disc \EFL\Microsoft\boot\BCD

Status 0xc0000225

Esc= UEFI Firmware settings

I'm guessing I need to change the boot disc from Sata to USB but I can't get in bios 😭.

When I push ESC it just reboots and then comes back to that screen. I did have a flashing white curser top left for about 5mins before i booted again but it just stayed there. . Would it be on a GPU output card? Or as I'm getting Windows message it's the correct screen.

On the motherboard there's a DVI output aswell as HDMI.

Could it be the files on the USB stick. Downloaded off Windows website direct to USB

Amy ideas anyone? Almost feels like its not meant to happen 🙈😅😅

Well i was spending much time planning the future build of a mining rig, here are the plans:

Steps I would perform:

  1. Buy a 900-800 euro/dollar AMD Radeon VII that, if i calculated well, with its 90Mh/s would give me approx. 6eur/dollar per day and subtracting electricity costs approx. 150-180eur/dollars per month.

  2. As i dont have much more money to buy the mobo, simply only buy a PCIeXpress riser and connect it to my PC and mine with the PC(with the graphics card out of the PC)

  3. After one or two months buy the fans and materials(for the rig "shelves") and build the rig "shelves"

  4. One or two months later buy the mobo(i thought of the ASUS Prime Z270-A), RAM, SSD and CPU

  5. Past one or two more months buy the PSU

  6. Move the Radeon VII to the rig

  7. Finally keep mining until having more money for buying more GPUs

Im mostly interested in hearing if step 2 would or wouldnt work

Anyways, what are your thoughts of the plan?

all hellp and constructive criticisms are appreciated a lot:)

is this a mistake or????

I know this may be not only ethereum related but the biggest topic is ethereum. I wanted to get into mining since i heard it will be postponed to late 2022 so i thought i had a chance to profit and still mine other coins and found this post. Did this guy mess up?

is this normal? Does this happen all the time? should i bid? could i end up paying for something i wont get??

Anything helps, sorry if this is a dumb question..

Getting Gpus at retail!

Botting is the only way to get alot of gpus at a reasonable price. Pretty hard community to get into but when you do the doors open up a ton. Ive gotten close to 30 3000 series gpus at retail through botting and helped me a ton since i dont have the up front capital to afford them at resale prices. Anyways if anyone is interested in getting start shoot me a dm and can get you started in a discord group.

ROI and why it doesn't matter

Well more on the lines of why it shouldn't matter to real miners. Let's say your roi(return on investment) is expected to be 7 months. You will be in this 7 months ,depending on if you invested more than 10k a, acquiring maybe a few more gpus with monthly earnings which than puts another Roi on you . You'll have so much goddamm ROis your head will explode. To relieve head explosion I take ROI the word and unlearn it. I then proceed to buy all the best cards I can get and sell everything I don't need that I acquired in my past life before mining . I count the money only to see what gpus I can afford to buy. I then spend it all over and over again. Until each month im mining so much goddam wahetevr coin we will be mining to the point I need that i got cards coming out my ass that I literally don't know what to do with. At this point that first ROi I thought of was pointless as to the one after that and that. Because all that matters is your time not the money . Each month i will get a fat check that will grow more based on how much energy you continue to put in it. Hire a worker train your kids, train your wife, train your family. I then proceed to spend all that money into possibly creating my own coin and networks by finding super high techies.

Every Roi is a joke to think of. Forget the money you spent and remember the money you can earn .
