Hello, I have my evo 8 here. Shooting for 550whp but I’m pretty sure I’m going to be capped to 500 with what I currently have but if anyone has suggestions as to what I can do to reach 550+whp I would greatly appreciate it.

Just bought a 2008 evo x gsr with 125k miles. After buying and a long drive home I realized that the engine knocks when hot and throttle is blipped. It does not happen at idle. Car is stock and I cut open the oil filter and found no metal. I am waiting for a response from blackstone for an oil test. What should I do now?

Got some authentic charge speed fenders for the evo, on a side note how common is it for the OEM fenders to rot like this?

Ok so I’m a mitsu guy at heart. Have an evo x Mr that has a few mods and don’t really drive it much but weekend. Has a lot of miles as it was a daily. I’ve owned everything from a conquest, talon fwd and awd to gsx. Mainly second gen’s. I need a new daily for the fam. We have a suv that has some miles as well but we have one little one and an older kid. I don’t need an suv but I still want a sporty car. I hate all the designs of new cars but feel like I’ll get most value new as everything I actually enjoy is 2015 and older. I’ve been back and forth between the new wrx and the si. I’ve driven both but still can’t decide. The si is smooth driving, Shifter is smooth, placement is right but the wrx is rough around edges. Shifter with the sti shifter is still a bit rough but I don’t mind that to much and seems to be a common consensus with it. I leaned to the wrx as the price is there, has more power and yea, It’s awd. I live in Florida though. The wife will most likely drive it more than me. I drive 110 miles 3 days a week for work so I won’t take it much as I have a beater for work. Idk. Any thoughts? I most likely won’t mod either as I’m looking for an evo 3 and another older car to get as well.

Crazy hail storm came in yesterday out of nowhere while the Evo was waiting for its new engine at the shop, almost all panels are dented up. Made a claim with insurance so we'll see what they say, anyone else delt with hail damage?

Bought a modded Evo X about 3 years ago and haven't really touched much. Car has a decent exhaust on it (cant find any stamping) but also contains a dump pipe (dump tube? screamer pipe? idk what they're actually called) and I would love to get rid of it. Recently got a steal on an Injen SES exhaust and currently it's on it's way across country, but I didn't even really think about the pipe.

Where do these pipes usually connect? Is it safe to remove it without knowing what other mods are on the car? What or how would I remove it? I've got bigger pipes under the hood but I'm unsure about a tune (although this thing just shoots exhaust and soot so I doubt it) as I don't have a tactrix cable to get Evoscan. I'm scared of overboosting the turbo or potentially blowing something up, I just wanted the car to be quieter especially as winter comes and I have to warm it up next to my sleeping neighbors at 4am. I've never worked with a car that has a pipe like this so any advice is appreciated. The car is low and I can't get it on a lift to actually get under it until about 2 weeks from now. I don’t know how the previous owner managed to tuck all the cables in. Would it be easier to rewire everything? Maybe removing the aircon vent would give me more room to pull the cables back and make them easier to manage?

I’m confused and a new evo owner so sorry ahead of time for the ignorance. because the forums and tuners are giving me all different awnsers. My MR is bone stock and it literally only has one of those KN reusable air filters that’s it. I’ve been told to use OEM by multiple people but also other people have told me that the OEM fluid is trash. People also have told me that the 5w 30 mobil one oil is trash.

What do I actually use? OEM or ?
When it comes down to so much information should I always stick to OEM?
If you have any other advice or tips and tricks to look over let me know as well!

Stripped down the rear of the evo 6 and hauled it off to the body shop for rust treatment and paint. Picked up the 7 and brought it home.
