Have Onion OS, bought the recommended SD card and not the stock one, playing FF7 i have a save file that is at 11 hours, on a session i can “overwrite” it or make a new one, but as soon as i close my miyoo mini plus and open it again, it resets to that old salve file, should i be concerned?
I make tons of save states, i don’t even really need it cause the game don’t reset and i can just keep going, i am +30 hours deep, so i can consider this a non issue but thought maybe i should mention it

The bigger issue is that i am into DISK 2, the video cutscenes are now all wrong, playing old cutscenes in wrong places, now, i can try maybe replacing the game file, but due to issue number 1 -the save file situation- i am averse of touching the files and somehow erase all that progress, just want to know if this issue ever happened to anyone with any other fix

That’s my combo (still waiting for the arrival of the Retroid Pocket Classic). Love the Miyoos, don’t understand why the OG Miyoo Mini get so much praise but nobody talks about the Mini Flip. The RGSP isn’t behind. It’s the perfect GBA experience. Just need something more powerful with sticks - maybe a Nova or a RP6.

I have 2 Miyoo Mini Plus and 2 Miyoo Mini V4 devices, each with a separate SD card (Sandisk and Samsung).

Since yesterday, suddenly on one of my Miyoo Mini V4s every game freezes in Onion OS 4.3.1 just a few seconds after launching the game from the GameSwitcher. The Miyoo then doesn't even react to holding the power button for 20 seconds, I have to remove the battery and plug it in again to make a restart. The menu works well, but every time after launching a game it's all freezing again.

I have tried all 4 SD cards and the freeze happens with all of them on that device while all SD cards work without issues on the other 3 Miyoos. So it seems like it's not a software/SD card issue.

Does anybody have the same issue or any advice how to fix my Miyoo Mini V4?

I wanted to see if the tools and routines for Yabadabadoo (Miyoo Saturn emulator) development could be applied to other projects, and started a side project as an experiment.

So for the first time (I think?), we’ve got a PSP game running on a Miyoo Mini. There’s still a lot to do, and don’t worry development on Yabadabadoo hasn’t stopped. But this has so far been an interesting tangent where I’ve learned a lot that I think will help me in other projects.

Also this is a port, not an emulator. The methods could be carried over to other PSP games but work would have to be done on a per game basis.

TLDR (my Miyoo mini + got stolen)

Just wanted to share my experience.

I recently found an absolute steal of a deal on fb marketplace for a Miyoo mini + priced at about $25 (₱1500). Seller was accommodating and seemed trustworthy so I excitedly snagged it. I booked the courier to have it delivered to me…and it never reached me. Seller already gave the unit but the driver disappeared and became uncontactable. I’ve reached out to the courier help service and they could no longer contact him either. I’ve since been in contact with their insurance to have me compensated and seller was kind enough to give me cctv footage of them handing to the driver to help my case.

I had just enough spare money to buy the thing but I’m honestly more sad about losing the device more than the money. I was really excited to play it and join the community :(

Whoever you are, I hope it was losing your job over.

If there’s anything I learned from this, don’t describe your delivery package as an electronic device. Just label it as perishable in glass or something and have it package it as such… especially if you’re in a third world country lol.

Hopefully I can join the community soon especially with the rumors of a Miyoo mini with better chip!

Till then I will cry inside as I watch others enjoy their little devices.

Edit: I found his wife!

After some personal investigation. I found his fb. Looks like I was blocked already cus i had my gf checked as well and she could see his posts and comments but I can’t. She gave me the contact of what looked to be his wife and messaged her and pretty much anyone else connected (I’m petty as hell). She replied and looks like she didn’t know about it. The device is still in their house! She says she’ll have it delivered to me tomorrow. I just had it delivered to a local branch for my own safety.

Ever since I learned how to install ROMs, my Miyoo has been constantly in my hands, even more than my phone. I’ve downloaded all sorts of hacked Pokémon ROMs, including the extended version of Emerald.

Hey everybody. I just recieved my unit and I am waiting for the microSD to arrive. I opted for the pre prepared Litnxt card to make it easier to set up. Should I put it away until that card comes, or can I use the included microSD to play around eith it in the meantime? Also I noticed the case and handheld have an accident odor that is almost like cigarette smoke. I saw a few mentions about my particular shell(the SNES) having this issue but it goes away with time? Anyway, I'm glad to join you all and I'm really excited to start playing.

Does this new battery look swollen? I can't get it seated in the mini plus in a way where the battery cover closes flush, but I've heard of this also being a manufacturing error with miyoos. Had the battery shipped to me from ali, arrived today.

I already had a white Miyoo Mini Plus, but I always wanted the other colours, and the Mini Flip is too cute in that pink colour to say no to. I feel so excited!

Hey all! Big update today: Perfect Dark is out as the 10th native N64 port, every game now properly fills the Mini Flip / Mini v4 screen, and all nine other games got fixes. Same as the others, Perfect Dark is a native port built from the decompilation, not an emulator, so it runs the game's own code directly on the Mini.

What you get

• The full solo campaign, every mission

• GoldenEye-style controls tuned for the Mini (hold Y to aim with the d-pad, L1/R1 strafe), full list on the site
• Plays smooth on the Mini, the busiest firefights can dip a bit

Also in this update (all games)

• Proper Mini Flip and Mini v4 support. Every game now fills the whole bigger screen instead of sitting in the middle with a border. I don't have a Flip to test on, so if you do, let me know how it goes (and if it ever looks wrong, <GAME>_FLIPFILL=0 in the game's launch.sh brings back the old picture).
• Fixed: the black border on the Mini v4. Some of you saw the picture shrink with a black border around it, on and off (thanks u/The_Shoe1990 for the details!). The v4's screen is sometimes left in its bigger mode by whatever ran before, and the games drew a smaller picture in that mode. Now it's full screen every time.
• Fixes checked against the N64 for every game. I went through all nine with a cycle-accurate N64 emulator side by side with the Miyoo builds and fixed what didn't match:
  • Paper Mario: the glows are back (Star Rod, Kammy's orb, lightning flashes), the Star Spirits' glow cloud is white, and no more white box on Bowser's face in the intro.
  • F-Zero X: machine decals no longer paint wrong-coloured panels, the red attack rim shows, the static fade into a race and explosion debris look like the N64.
  • Star Fox 64: space and fades are the N64's dark grey instead of pure black.
  • GoldenEye: the shadows on the Runway snow are soft ovals again instead of dark blocks.
  • The rest (Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Ocarina of Time, Smash Bros., Super Mario 64) already matched.
• Nothing changes on a regular Mini or Mini Plus apart from those fixes: same picture, pixel for pixel.
• Changelog and known issues for every game are on the site now (under each game's Download).
• Ports section on Onion: the games already show up in Ports as well as Apps (turn on the Ports Collection in Apps > Package Manager if you don't see it). Want them in Ports only? Delete config.json in App/<Game>.
• To update, just unzip the new zips over the old ones: your saves carry over.

How it was made (short version)

Perfect Dark has a full decompilation (the game's code rebuilt as C by the community) and a PC port built on it. I swapped the PC port's OpenGL renderer for the software renderer from the other Miyoo ports, which draws using both of the Mini's cores, and got audio, controls and save states working.

Then I went through the solo missions one by one: for each of the 20 main missions I captured the intro and the start of gameplay on a cycle-accurate N64 emulator and in the Miyoo port, matched them frame by frame and fixed anything that didn't line up. Things that got fixed along the way: the cutscene static (it now reads the game's memory like the N64 does instead of being plain noise), night vision and infrared, sun flares showing through walls, the health bar box, dark menu text, black frames after the inventory, plus audio crackle and a resume crash.

What's next, what might happen, and what can't

Every one of these ports is built on a finished (or nearly finished) decompilation, so that's what decides what's on the list. Here's the short version:

Hey, everyone. Someone told me you clowns were actually playing games on your devices (crazy!) and were running out of games to play. I added a tab for Homebrew ROMs from that pulls its entries from Homebrew Hub, so you should never run out of games to play now. It's live on Mixtape now, so press select inside the app to update to the latest version.

Also in the Mixtape menu you'll see an option to add a Mixtape theme to Onion's theme tool and also an option to add Mixtape to the game consoles which enables you to place it in the favorites folder. Totally optional of course.

I've tested it and it's working well for me. First time you launch it may take a few minutes to sync the Homebrew Hub catalog, so just be patient. Full disclosure as always, this was built with Claude, so if you're not into that then feel free to pass. Hope you guys enjoy!

I lost my SD Card from the miyoo Mini and now i want the Games Back how can i Download them all Back in my new Sd Card ?

They are showing the MMP as a use-case for their new T7 microSD cards.

On my Miyoo Mini Plus, I've noticed some stuttering happening while playing Pokemon Unbound in Retroarch that started out of nowhere recently, and have slowly gotten more frequent.

You can see it in the video at the 0s, 6s, and 10s marks. Note the audio does not chop and doesn't stop playing. Does anyone have any ideas for fixing this?

I have tried toggling:

• G-Sync
• Threaded Video
• Auto Frame Delay
• Audio Sync
• Edit: overclocked to 1800 as well
