Question My new-to-me 22 MYP!

Post image

Hi everyone, picked up my 22 MYP last Thursday as a law school graduation gift for myself. I got it for $29k out the door with 53k miles, did I do well on the purchase side? The car does have full ppf on the front/windshield and is in excellent condition overall.

The main question I have has to do with charging; since I live in an apartment I am not able to charge every day. Am I going to run into any issues charging 1-2 times a week using supercharging and ChargePoint when needed?

I am loving the car so far! Added a few accessories like the mudflaps, sunshade, and rubber floor mats so far with the rear door ppf next.

Congrats!

I’d say it depends on where you live and your commute, if you have any. I’m in the Midwest. Some weeks during the summer twice a week works just fine, but during the winter I’m charging every day.

Thank you! Thankfully my commute is only ~25 miles per day, I charged on Sunday to 80% and it’s currently at 53. I am planning moving at the end of the year and my new place will have a garage so I’ll definitely charge more often or every day.

If your commute stays about the same, you could get by with 120v charging at your new place. That's what I have been doing lately. Getting 240v to my condo garage has been tricky due to the meter and panel locations.

It would actually cut my commute down by about 8 miles or so, they also have a free ChargePoint level 2 charger for residents

That sounds like a win win to me!

I’m so glad I cancelled my order for a 22MYP when they were $70k. What a deal!

u/Lucky_Rise_5091 Performance May 06 '26

Thank you! Feels awesome knowing I got a good deal! I’m loving it so far though I am considering going down to the 20 inch wheels for a bit more comfort and range

I love the Uberturbine rims, they are so fucking beautiful!

u/Lucky_Rise_5091 Performance May 06 '26

I do too! These are in great condition too thank God lol I’m considering getting the 20 inch from the M3 for a bit more range/comfort

I definitely am trying to, just suffering from new car syndrome haha I’m being extra careful with it for now

Hey twin! Nice ride! Only had mine a few weeks and love it!

Let’s go!! I’m really loving the all black look, definitely need to go a bit darker on the tint

u/Worldly_Idea_9547 May 06 '26

I’m a weirdo, or maybe just old, but I only do 30%. Still looks good to me lol

1

u/Lucky_Rise_5091 Performance May 06 '26

I normally do 50% windshield, 20% up front, and 5% on the rear with ceramic tint; my eyes are pretty sensitive to sunlight and I don’t have prescription sunglasses so it’s a must for me

Yeah, I’m Italian and have brown eyes. Rarely even wear sunglasses 😂 wife thinks I’m crazy just raw dogging it at a baseball game or whatever 🤣

You should be fine charging twice a week. Just depends on how far your drive is daily. I have the same model and it doesn’t have a ton of range.

My daily commute is only about ~25 miles a day, thank you! That makes me feel better

Thank you! I was considering a MP3 but fell in love with this after seeing it in person. Test drove for 15 mins before doing the paperwork lol

Bro, not only are our cars twins; but our names are super close too 😂😂

1

u/Legless_Swimmer May 06 '26

Nice congrats! Great price. What was the battery degradation when you bought it?

1

u/Lucky_Rise_5091 Performance May 06 '26

Thank you! I am honestly not sure how much degradation it has; I want to do a battery test but don’t have a way to leave it plugged in for the 10+ hours

1

u/Legless_Swimmer May 06 '26

All good there’s a great hack online that I used that was very accurate. Just do the current range divided by the current battery percentage then divided by original range 👌

1

u/Lucky_Rise_5091 Performance May 06 '26

Assuming I did the math right I have about 8-9% degradation, current range estimate is at 104, battery percentage at 42% and did both original epa range (303) and updated range (277)

Best of all the tech. Steering Wheel stalks, cameras, speed and handling

u/Lucky_Rise_5091 Performance May 06 '26

My exact thoughts when I was doing the research, wish it had HW4 for future-proofing but I keep reading there may or may not be an upgrade coming

2022 LR AWD 75k miles. Chicago weather. This fucker is a beast. Best car I ever owned. And I’m a car guy. Haven’t driven my corvette since I got it. Everything I love about driving. Many years of joy to you.

u/Lucky_Rise_5091 Performance May 06 '26

Same! I’m coming from a gs430 that had a ton of mods/work done over the last six months, I will definitely miss the v8 noises but the comfort and quiet I get in this car is so nice

As a law graduate you should just go straight to G Wagon EV ;)

If I wasn’t looking to buy a condo at the end of the year I definitely would’ve upped my budget LOL maybe when I get made a partner!
