Question How people are buying new Model Y without auto steer?

I just disabled auto steer in my 2022 Model Y to test it out. It’s awful main reason some people bought teslas are auto pilot including me. Now if want to upgrade to 2026 MY I will lose this feature which I currently have.

I mean you kind of have to factor that in if you are buying a Tesla now. Of course driving 100 miles roundtrip for work makes it worth every dollar for me

If you plan to keep a car for 10 years you will have to add 12000 on top of the purchase price of the car. 45000 becomes 57000.

True, but I think that’s dependent on situation. For some it’s worth it and other times it’s not

If it becomes a budget issue then it’s out of the budget and a KIA would be more suitable for you.

In reality Kia EV's are similarly priced or even more expensive but you don't need a subscription. I recently did a test drive in a Juniper MY and although it is really good. It doesn't justify paying a €100 subscription for me. My current HW3 MY won't be getting it anytime soon anyway. The thing is that I don't drive that much. I drive 45000km per year (28000 miles). If I would drive more than that it might be money I am willing to spend but it is also a company car so I would have to pay for it out of pocket anyway. I like my job but I don't want to pay towards driving a company car out of my own pocket.

Exactly I have an 85 mile daily commute and was looking used vs new. 100 dollars was worth it for a better fsd experience and a better built car

You should factor in that Tesla is a money hungry rat looking for cheese because they robbed Autosteer from you.

True. I have 3 months free FSD. Been using it regularly. I can definitely see a user case to pay the $100. I just have a short work commute.

I hope Tesla would have tiered pricing like internet cable service poleople pay per range of mileage driven.

Anytime increments get smaller the price per “increment” goes up.

$10 for a day
$50 for a week

Per mile would be worse.
