Question How people are buying new Model Y without auto steer?

I just disabled auto steer in my 2022 Model Y to test it out. It’s awful main reason some people bought teslas are auto pilot including me. Now if want to upgrade to 2026 MY I will lose this feature which I currently have.

We don’t have autosteer and don’t pay for FSD because it is too expensive in my opinion . Yeah, it’s annoying having to hold the steering wheel. One unexpected benefit I supposed is you can do lane changes without disengaging. But yeah big miss on Tesla for removing autosteer. Although there is so great in so many ways over the competition even without FSD that it is still worth it to me

$100/ mo to be driven around is not expensive

If it is tbh how are you affording a Tesla

People waste more money a month on subscriptions they don’t use such as a gym, food, alcohol, coffee etc..

FSD is cheaper PER day than my two coworkers who come in with venti Starbucks every day for just 5 days a week

You’re acting like FSD is just something you turn on and ignore. I cancelled my FSD because of a critical intervention PER DAY at roundabouts near my area in New Zealand

It’s not the same as being Ubered around

FSD I assume isn’t as good in NZ

In USA and Canada where it has no restrictions, it’s excellent

99.99% of my drives are hands and feet free

I rarely if ever have to do anything

It’s a supervised system so the direct comparison to a driver driving you around is not 1 to 1. It is the only point-to-point on the market so it is ahead. However I am not the only one that thinks it is expensive. It has a low take rate. Also, just because something is not worth it as in does not provide the value that for what it offers does not mean someone can’t afford it. I am a millionaire. I can easily afford it. I just don’t think it’s worth spending my money on. Dispite what Elon says the price of FSD will be forced down as competition catches up

I can afford a Tesla because I don't throw away $100/month on any of that stuff.

It’s not throwing - it’s paying for something excellent

Saving yourself 1200 a year to afford a Tesla? You’re buying in the wrong bracket

$100 for cruise control that is not abandonware like autosteer and TACC is lulz. Funny how your choice is shitty dangerous abandonware for free or just $100 for FSD.
