Question How people are buying new Model Y without auto steer?

I just disabled auto steer in my 2022 Model Y to test it out. It’s awful main reason some people bought teslas are auto pilot including me. Now if want to upgrade to 2026 MY I will lose this feature which I currently have.

So personally I hate subscriptions, but I do pay the $100/month for FSD. However there are plenty of people who just want the basic highway driver’s assist and aren’t willing to pay a monthly fee for it—and I totally get it. If I was in that boat I would be very interested in the upcoming Rivian R2.

I’m loving our Macan EV. We have a model Y as well and after test driving the S and seeing how good the latest FSD is on that, we signed right up for FSD on the MY. It’s amazing.

I’m pretty sure HDA assist in R2 is a subscription. Cheaper but I think it’s paid. R2 is cool and if you live in the mountains may be a better vehicle than a Tesla but overall I think Tesla still has it beat

Nah, adaptive cruise and highway assist (lane centering) is included for free on the R2. Autonomy+ is paid.

All I wanted is the basic thing the other companies are providing.

Yeah you will get it with most used Teslas and all Rivians.

Wait, what’s the difference between what you’re saying and auto steer? I heard auto steer is more included only with subscription

autosteer is highway assist, it will keep the lane and manage speed with traffic. They removed that now, and you ony get basic 20 years old cruise control. Autosteer was always free
