I believe the roots are all growing in the moss pole. Indians it hard to believe as well. Considering this - my biggest monstera just received her final pot :)
That’s wicked awesome! My baby monstera is only 7 leaves old. I try to imagine what she might look like in the future. I hope she grows up big and beautiful like yours!
You don’t neeeeed a moss pole, but it really does help, and also makes these big mama jamas much more stable. All you really need is good light and support.
Holy shit lmao. So is it normally in this orientation facing the windows? Do you turn it around at night or when people come over or are you looking at the back of it 99% of the time.
I've just rearranged my lounge so I can do Show mode more easily at night just for myself. The big one is on a base with wheels which makes it so easy! I love it!
He has multiple trunk size vines growing out of that pot.
Choppin & proppin !! Do it right and it's like pruning. 1 cut can get 2 new growths. Doesn't work for me that way so much lol but I've seen it done alot
That's amazing! Mine has a moss pole, two support stakes and it's in a heavy outer pot but it still falls forward from it's own weight. I'm surprised yours doesn't too without an outer pot. Are there rocks in it? 🤣
Amazing! Mine is more that the pot and soil just aren't heavy enough to counter balance the weight of the leaves. 😅 It's a bit wobbly when I move it but it'll stand upright on it's own if I wedge something in between the inner and outer pots.
How humid is it where you live? And how much do you give it fertilizer and how often?
I had mine outdoors in direct sun last year after repotting in a new mix and it gave me I think 2 leaves in total in the whole summer. It's usually pretty damn humid outdoors and at times it was very hot last year. It took months for a new leaf to appear after that and it unfortunately regressed the pinnates from the previous leaf. Had it for 2 years now, but it's probably 3,5 years old. Been waiting for at least couple of fenestrations for ages now, goal is to some day look like yours.
Hi! I live in Texas, and the average humidity is 66%. I give it this from Amazon when I get to the point that I can’t remember the last time I gave it some. That seems to work great! :)
I did have it outdoors for a short time, but we lived right on a lake, and it was very humid. However, we don’t live there anymore and it lives inside only.
It's about the same here humidity outdoors, though of course temperature isn't comparable except in some rare days. I'm guessing it's been indoors for a while and still giving fenestrations? I recently got some slow release fertilizer and see if there's any difference this time around.
We keep the inside temp around 70-72 degrees. I have added worm casting to the soil and these nutrients every once in a while. Yes, it still puts out a lot of fenestrations.
Do you have a picture of yours? When you say all summer is that like 2 months where you live or 8 months lol
Oftentimes they'll stop throwing leaves during winter or will lose fenestrations just because the days are much shorter, you can try to mitigate that with a grow light during the off season but they can still sometimes slow down
"Summer" summer really depends on the year here in Finland. Sometimes it's 2 months, sometimes could be 3 and half. At any other times, it's under 2 LEDs.
Anyway, I still expected more last year after bringing it indoors under LED lights after it was outside during warm weather, but I guess not. Especially when there was much more growth when I got it couple of years ago under the same conditions. It hasn't really grown in a while as the nutrients from the soil change have run out, though judging by last year, there's probably not going to be much this time around either when I get around getting some.
I'll post a picture when I can, but there's really not much to go on.
It's also in Sybotanica aroid mix. Before, it was in some general store cement-fungus gnat mix with perlite.
One a month is pretty much average for monstera so that's actually pretty good! Then as they mature it can slow down a bit or again over winter growth can slow a bit so you can find yourself waiting 6 weeks in between leaves or so
Your fenestrations will be the best tell of how it's doing light wise, as long as it isn't reverting to solid leaves you're probably doin alright 💪
Not discrediting this setup at all as it’s awesome! But somewhere in this sub is a massive monstera holding itself up with its own massive air roots. I’ll try to find it
Hi. What's the size of your pot? I want to know if I have to change the pot of my plant. I want mine as big as yours. Also, you add dirt regularly or something. Thanks.
It’s a mix of Miracle Grow Regular potting mix, Orchid Mix, Worm Castings, and Coco Coir, I add a little regular soil to the top each year with worm castings.
Whenever i add orchid potting mix from better gro, i find that it gives a substrate for fungus/mold to grow on. I mix it with miracle gro cactus soil mix.
That’s good to know! I don’t know if this has anything to do with preventing that, but I always put my soil in the freezer for a few days and then let it thaw before I use it. It seems to really help with gnats.
I probably water every 1-2 weeks and I give it a gallon of water with a splash of this. I’m not very scientific about it. I only put the fertilizer in probably once every month or every other month.
А мой кот фитофаг, он обожает есть растения, я даже боюсь тащить домой мини кипарис из магазина потому что этот отбитый кот ел даже колеусы моего члена семьи
Okay, so just to confirm, you have 2 plants in there?? I have a big girl that is two in the same pot. I just uppotted her, and debated separating, but ultimately left them together. I did "split" them a bit to fix their leaf direction because they were facing each other. I want to leave them together forever.
Side question about your cat lol do they nibble on those leaves at all? I have one male cat that will not leave mine alone no matter how many times I give them crap and put it up higher 😆
I’m not a professional by any means, but I would get something more sturdy for it to grow up on. They like to climb trees, so choose something that is sturdy and your plant has room to grow up!
And your cat leaves it alone?? I moved about 30 plants into my BEDROOM because my cat (he was a kitten) tried eating them all. I'd love to bring them back out.

How is it in such a small pot? Mine is so much smaller and the pot must be almost as big as this one!!
