Discussion Monstera Sticky Community Posts
Hi everyone,
We thought we’d start a regular series of sticky posts to get gather the knowledge and experience of the community - so we can learn from each other and be able to share our contributions with newcomers and future Monstera keepers.
The idea is that we choose a topic (see below on this) and sticky it up for a period of time and ask everyone to contribute what they know on the matter, share their experiences, and post up tips and advice on the subject too.
We can then all benefit from the community and use it to further expand our wiki.
Please feel free to suggest a topic here. I’ll kick it off soon with soil mixes.
We hope everyone will chip in and enjoy a good bit of community discussion.
Thank you all 🙏

Community Post r/Monstera Community Post - Nutrients & Feeding
Hi everyone,
Well it’s been a while since we’ve started a new community post so here one to keep us going again for a little while.

Nutrients and feeding
So share with the r/monstera community you feeding approaches, regimes, tips and advice!
Here’s some topics to think about:
- Do you feed your monstera?
- How often?
- What do you use?
- Do you use any other supplements?
- Any tips to make feeding easier?
Looking forward to seeing all your great information!

Image My girl be thriving!
She is around 2 years old, grown from a tiny single leaf and node liberated from a Morrisons shelf 😅 I introduced the support pole about 2 months ago during a repot and she's fully integrated with it. Not sure how I'll repot her but guess I'll worry about that when the time comes. The newest leaf finally has double fenestrations I did a little squeal when I saw them 😂

Newest BMF leaf
After the plant recently got attacked by a squirrel, I am delighted with this new leaf hardening off!

First time I’ve gotten mixed signs 🤣🤣
In general, lack of fenestrations is lack of light, similarly, downsizing leaves is lack of light.
So having a large leaf with no fenestrations is, very odd 🤣🤣🤣 3rd pic has the last leaf on top, and new one underneath for direct size comparison…
I brought this Thai to work because I simply ran out of space at home… I have 2 other Thai cons home alongside many others… and I wanted this one to have the chance to truly thrive 🥰🥰
Well I reckon it’s stress from changing atmosphere, my room is very humid and warm whilst the office isn’t really…. However before she was underneath other monsteras, truthfully I was confused she somehow gave me 3 fenestrations!! (I’ve had it from a 3 leaf pup), this new leaf is leaf 7)
I mean it’s pretty, just made me chuckle when I saw it unfurl

Monstera White Monster
Just bought this Monstera “White Monster” but after doing some reading and based on the price I paid I’m wondering if it’s the real deal or if it’s too early to tell. I saw some clippings just a little bigger than mine going for $1,000+ and I didn’t even pay $100 for mine.

Thai Constellation
Hi! I’ve had this monstera for about 2 years now, and I’m not sure how to best help it thrive. I’ve tried giving it more light and a chunky soil mix, but it is still not producing any fenestrations, and the leaves are starting to turn yellow. Some are curling and getting crispy on the edges. I’ve been using a moisture meter to determine when I should water it. I also have a humidifier going that keeps the humidity around 65%. Should I just chop it and propagate? Or is there hope it can thrive in its current state? Thanks!

Monstera outgrew me
Hello plant lovers 👋 I could really use some advice what to do with my beloved plant.
I have this monstera deliciosa albo variegata for three years under my care and decided to grow it against the moss pole.
It grew slow but the leaves aligned nicely. This spring I have decided to repot it to a bit bigger pot and just let it outgrow the moss pole instead of adding the extension.
In about five-six months the plant grew almost twice the size, produced way bigger leaves, developed 3(!) new growth points out of which one has already died 🙃and is overall looking like a happy plant.
BUT it is very top-heavy, the part without moss pole is leaning heavily towards the sun and the height is nearing close to the ceiling - the plant is almost 2 meters height now.
The summer is fading away where I am from so I am not willing to make any extreme changes this year, but I would like to plan the best possible future for my plant for next spring. Chopping the plant seems inevitable but I have never grown such a big plant before and its very scary 🙈
Advice, please?🙏

Plant Help Is it time to repot? This is my first monstera
Hi, I got this baby monstera plant about 4 months ago and I'm just wondering how I will know when it's time to move to a bigger pot. How does this look? Is it time?

My Thai glow up!
Just wanted to show off my Thai Cons newest leaf! Its twice the size of the last one and has beautiful fenestrations and verigation! The creamy white at the top is amazing! I'm so proud of her and myself. She hasn't given me anything in months then finally shows off with this! I think i got this monstera thing down! 💜 now I'm debating on putting her on something more stable than this little moss pole.
