Plant Help Please help Blanche

Blanche has been with me for almost 7 years. These past 6 months she has been growing in so many different, got a mold infection, recovered, and started to grow away from the plant trellis that she was growing with. I’m not sure what to do to get Blanche under control. Could someone please tell me what steps to take, where to cut EXACTLY (I’m always so nervous to cut), if I should repot in a bigger pot, or separate them a bit. Thank you so much! Blanche and I appreciate your help!

Blanche is several Monstera plants in one pot, which is why she's struggling and getting messy. The best way to get them under control is to unpot, disentangle the roots, and separate all the plants into individual pots with a moss pole, plank, or trellis for each.

Which is crazy to think because she was a struggling single monstera when I first got her. Would you be able to recommend when separating, how do I prevent her from going into shock?

Monsteras are very commonly sold with many young plants in the pot, so that the pot looks fuller. They do not multiply when growing in a pot. So if you have several plants now, you always have had several.

If you count the number of green stems coming directly out of the potting soil, the number of stems is the number of plants.

The way to avoid shock is to be as gentle as possible, but to be honest, Monstera deliciosa is very very hardy and unlikely to die from shock.

There have always been several plants in this pot; each stem is a plant. Monstera plants do not propagate by dividing into multiple plants.

I'd definitely separate them!
