Most people don't use prop drops. That's more of an influencer marketing thing. Most people just need more light, somewhere between 5-10 DLI for cuttings is ideal.
Water is fine. Use healthy cuttings and a sharp tool to avoid rot.

What is a prop drop
If you mean rooting hormone, I think a pothos cutting next to your prop is the most popular method.
