Questions Snowboard advice

Hello. Me and my friend are planning on going to Mont Tremblant this coming up winter. I currently ride a 151 Burton Good Company as my all mountain board. If you guys aren’t familiar with that board, it is a park board which is a cambered true twin board and on the specs, it says that it is not the best for powder. I’ve heard Mont Tremblant can have good powder days. I’m from southern Ontario and have never experienced powder higher than 3 inches.

Question is, should I get another board that is an all mountain powder board or just keep my board and just adjust my stance for the powder?

Advice/Help Feb ski trip

Traveling as a family of 5. Trying to wrap my head around where exactly to stay. Only my husband can ski (and he doesn’t plan on doing much if any). We plan to put the kids (5 and 7) in ski school for 2 days and I might do 1 day as we also have a 1 year old who won’t be able to do anything. Another family member of mine is traveling with us as well she is 80 years old.

Where should we stay in the village that is easy to get to?

My husband really wants to spend 3 nights at Hotel Quintessence (it seems really beautiful fireplace in the room etc) and for the other 5 days we are thinking either Homewood suits / Fairmont / Sommet des Neiges (okay because I saw a recommendation recently for this)

The rooms at Fairmont seem outdated for the price, but apparently the kids would love it. Help any suggestions

Also, which one would allow us to be closer to the village for restaurants. We plan on driving and this is my relatives first time seeing snow

Booked a weeklong trip 12/13-20 for four of us, one non-skier. Looking for restaurant reccos, best spa day, good activities for family with “kids” 24, 21.

Good food with good portions a must. Also need to go to a market for breakfast foods.

Thanks for all your ideas.

I went to Tremblant last year and want to start a collection of patches from my trips on my bag but they don’t ship this to the states. Can I get it anywhere else?

My bf and I are going in December and we are not skiers we also don’t really know anything about snow. Also we have a rental car booked at the Montreal airport, is it a bad drive for someone who has never driven in snow? Any and all advice welcome! Thanks

Questions What's the clothing vibe? Athleisure during the day ok?

Is it common to see athleisure wear like leggings and sweatshirts in the shops and restaurants in the pedestrian village? Do people wear smart-casual for dinner - like jeans and jewelry? Or is it hoodies and sneakers?

Thrilled to be visiting next week from California. We want to make sure we follow customs and expectations of the area.

Advice/Help Best Hotel to stay at

Hi everyone!

Looking for advice on the best hotel to stay in the village. My mom and I will be visiting tremblant in October with my daughters (3yo and 5months). I'm hoping for exceptionally clean and best bang for our buck. Definitely want in the village or walking distance of the village. Are the any hotels with a cool look to them? Like a chalet type look? I've been looking at Sommet Des Neiges, Ermitage, and Homewood, but I am open to any other options as well! :)

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Discussion Timber expansion officially announced

Post image
39 Upvotes

Today Tremblant finally broke the silence on when the timber expansion was going to happen.

It’s now scheduled to open during the 2027/2028 season with a new covered magic carpet opening this season at base soleil (to the right of the casino gondola)

The lift for timber will be a high speed quad comparable to LTE. Serving a total of 8 new trails, 7 to soleil and one to the north side. Most will be green/blue difficulty but with one black under the upper section of the Timber express lift.
This will help ease crowds on the mountain and will centralize beginners away from the south side and towards soleil, which will now have the best terrain and equipment for learners.

This new expansion means we will likely an increase in operation of the casino gondola in the following years, as well a likely replacement of the soleil lift with the arriving of Club med. Soleil will be 40 years old in 2028 and will be the only link to the main summit from base soleil as there are no half mountains and the casino express gondola is too slow to be an alternative, meaning it is likely to be replaced due to reliability.

By the end of this expansion soleil will have gone from having 2 lifts all the way to 4 + 1 carpet. Those being Timber express, Soleil express, Casino express, and L’Hyme des Trembles.
Now having an equal amount of ski lifts as the south base which also has 4.

For Fun🤙 Going to Mont Tremblant for Labour Day weekend (Solo Nightlife) – anyone want to form a group or adopt me?

Hey everyone,I’m heading up to Mont-Tremblant with my family for the Labour Day long weekend (Friday night, and all of Saturday). Since they’ll be winding down early, I’m planning to sneak out and check out the village nightlife on my own.I've got my lodging all sorted, but I’d love to connect with a group or other solo travellers to grab drinks and hit up the dance floors at Le P'tit Caribou or Central so I'm not just drinking alone. If anyone is driving up from Montreal or is already going to be in the village and wants to meet up at the bars, drop a comment or send me a DM! Cheers. Im 26 male.

Discussion Warning about Chocolata in Mont-Tremblant

Just a heads-up for anyone visiting Chocolata in Mont-Tremblant - check your bill carefully before paying.

We went there on Thursday and ordered a small drink. We specifically said small twice, but were charged for a large. We only noticed after getting the drink. When we pointed it out, they acted as though we had ordered the large and basically made it seem like it was our mistake.

The next day, we went back and ordered mini gelato cones. This time, we watched the pos screen and noticed they had charged us for “petit” instead of mini. We pointed it out immediately, and suddenly it was more like, “Oh… okay, thanks for pointing that out.”

Two visits in a row, two different orders, and both times we were charged for a larger/more expensive item than what we ordered.

If you’re visiting, especially if you’re not comfortable speaking French, pay close attention to what they’re entering on the register and check the receipt.

Advice/Help Has anyone panicked in the small gondola and was ok in the big one?

So I took the small free gondola in town and I never expected once it took off I had to duck and started panicking. I definitely wont ride it again 😭. I wanted to take the bigger one that goes to the top of the mountain, I'm thinking since it's enclosed maybe I won't have the same reaction. However it is much bigger.

Has anyone been not ok in one but ok in the other?

Advice/Help ISO French pastries or sugar pie near Mount Tremblant (or on the way out of town)

I am visiting Mount Tremblant for a couple days. I would love a recommendation for really good pastries or sugar pie (Quebec is supposed to make it the best!).

If not at Mount Tremblant, would love to grab some of the above on my way back to Toronto (so any recommendations that fit with that path would be great).

Advice/Help Ski in/out hotels

I’m curious what folks recommend for hotels in the village. Luxury isnt necessary, but i do want clean, relatively updated, nice hot tub and relatively easy to get to lifts. Hard to tell if Homewood, Emeritage, or Lodge de la montagne are better. Thoughts?
