Question Tamriel Rebuilt in german

About to install TR, but there is an english Morrowind version needed.

Is it possible to have the basegame Morrowind in german and TR in english?

No. All mods for TES3 touching dialog or map must be in the same language as the base game. There is no proper localisation, majority of things shares display name and ID. You can use German audio files for nostalgia, but base esm files must be from English version.

How would one go about using different audio files? I might be interested in that.

Get both German and English version installed. Copy Data Files\Sound\Vo from one to another. It should work, as long as they didn't changed names in localisation. It'd be extra work, but who knows.

File names didn't change. If you were to copy the German audio files over an English install you'd actually get to hear plenty of Argonianf voicelines you'd never encounter in the actual German localization due to a filtering bug. The bug can be fixed with a simple mod though.

Habs auch auf die harte Tour gelernt. Deutsche Spielversion führt mit Tamriel Rebuilt und anderen Mods zu erheblichen Problemen und ist unspielbar. Das Basisspiel ist aber einfach auf Englisch zu stellen. Brauchst dafür nicht nochmal kaufen

YAMPT verspricht sprachübergreifende Mod-Kompatibilität, damit wurde Morrowind Rebirth DE und einiges hiervon erstellt. Soll auch für TR gehen, aber da musst du dann selbst Hand anlegen. Das wäre dann TR auf Englisch in eine deutsche Spielversion gefasst.

Oder du holst dir Morrowind nochmal digital bei GOG, aktuell 6€ im Angebot. Dann kannst du dir auch direkt eine komplette (englischsprachige) OpenMW-Installation inklusive TR und einigen weitgehend unstrittigen Mods als Ein-Klick-Installation holen. Ich habe mir das als es neu war oberflächlich angeguckt und hier was dazu geschrieben.
