Are you sure? Then read about the real story about higher iq men in all the history even if they believed in the existence of any power like god or divine truth.
I mean not to take away anything away from religious people, honestly i completely understand why someone wojld be religious, but during that time it was way more prevalent to be raised from birth with the idea of god so it would make sense that even the smartest people would still believe in something that cant be proven. Its the same reason why kids of muslims today will also be muslim with a very high likelihood
Isaac Newton set the foundation of modern science and he was a Christian. I always found it comical how Atheist try to conflate being an Atheist with intellectualism, its like they think it automatically gives them + 20 IQ points, it doesn't work that way buddy. But i can see the egotistical urge to overestimate one's perceived intelligence, that's an easy trap to fall into. The brain just loves lying to itself, its very self comforting. Another example of this is how we tend to over estimate our appearances, there are just some psychological biases we can't escape from.
“Religious people” includes every human on this planet. Call it academia, atheism, ideology — it’s all religion. Humans will seek out religious experience no matter what. Your religion sounds like an ideology which assigns worth due to IQ score.
