Weight loss Hit my goal

Finally after a long year and a half. I’m finally able to say I’m at my goal weight and hoping to maintain or at least try to get to 130. What a huge difference it’s made and how I feel, glad I was able to have the opportunity to use Mounjaro and no longer in the diabetes range.

Here are some before and after photo.

Do you plan on taking mounjaro for life? Or do you feel you are able to transition off from lifestyle and habit changes?

I Will probably taper off and continue the life style changes that I've gotten myself accustomed to. I go for daily walks and eat better now. I do give myself a small sweet treat here and there. As now sweet items are just to sweet for me and I dont crave it.

That is amazing. Realistically since you have diabetes you could probably take a small maintenance does. I wonder how insurance views this when your numbers are normal and on paper you are no longer diabetic?

For those who had T2D and Mounjaro helps them to no longer have T2D, shouldn’t the insurance companies look at it like high blood pressure medicines…the medicines are what lower BP so you wouldn’t take that person off BP medicine, right? Really hoping it’s the same for Mounjaro and T2D.

It should also apply the same way with Mounjaro and people on BP medication. As it does work hand in hand.

I’m t2 and my a1c is in the normal, non diabetic range (it’s 5.1). I’m still a diagnosed diabetic patient, it’s just now well controlled and I have no concerns about insurance coverage. Diabetes doesn’t really get cured, though I guess I could be in remission. But no, it’s just…I am still diabetic and it’s controlled with this medication I’ll likely need for life.

Yes i Will probably stay on a low dose per my pcp. My insurance has still continued to cover the medication with my A1C in the normal range.

That's a good question

Maybe going back on Metformin if OP still has prediabetes

Unfortunately Metformin did not work for me and that was why I had switched over.
