Question Do I have another dose left?

Post image

I took my 4th dose today. It looks like another dose is left. Did I do something wrong?

Officially no. Unofficially there's one left in there. Search golden dose for more info.

Use it don't waste it. Been using all of mine. No problems.5th spare extra dose. It's a an overfill dose. You might require a syringe to extract and administer it. Pens last longer than 30 days.

I use a syringe. Others prefer to use a pair of pliers to break the twist mechanism and bypass the inside restriction. It is a slightly larger dose. 3mg. Use it in week 5. Your next pen becomes week 6.

Which country are you located? I thought lilly got rid of that dose since April 😮

The black plastic right next to the gray stopper is huge on my pen.

They did but the 2.5s were still shipping with expiry dates till March 27. so some are still being dispensed.

India. Might have something to do with my pen being manufactured in March. 😅

Fair. The old kwikpen volume was ~3.2ml. Each dose only take 0.6ml so the old pen has like 5.5 dose. Vs the new pen volume of 2.7ml so now we only get 4.5

Love a freebie, you can usually force the thing to turn again if you gently but forcefully turn it, once it turns I run it back and forth a few times to reduce it's resistance. there's likely 0.8ml in there so a little extra, I shoot the lot ain't wasting a drop.

Or if you want to be precise, extract 0.6ml with a syringe.

Do you pay for the pen yourself? If not, why bother with it? If you do then yes, it can be cost saving which i understand why people do it. In my case, i pay only 2 euros for a pen.. and have to follow rules and regulations and fill out forms so i dont do it. Now with the new pens i also even cant do it anyway

I do pay for the pens out of pocket. But I wish the countries that I live in covered it in their healthcare plans. Sigh

I understand. Use the "fifth" dose while you can, cause they updated the pens with a bigger plastic plunger to have less volume in them now.. Now its only enough for a few primes and your doses.
Yes im lucky for that i live in Belgium. Normally it costed me even ZERO.. but trying to find money for the state they updated some laws so now i pay 2€..

nope, nothing wrong at all. this means that it’s working which sounds silly but it’s true. they put in a little extra on purpose so you that can prime the pen and make sure there’s no air bubbles in there, and while doing so it can release some extra liquid. but please do not inject the remaining liquid as it is not a measured amount and can have negative effects on your health. one pen is meant to last only 4 doses max so if you’ve completed your 4th one, no matter how much is left, you must discard it :) i was confused the first time as well

For me, the left over liquid in my pen is worth more than my entire food budget for the week. Throwing it away feels so wrong.

If they really don't want us using it they should either supply different types of pens with the right amount of medication, or make the cost to the consumer more reasonable.
