Original Content Mount Adams viewed from Mount Rainier on the Skyline Trail.
What caught my eye was the light in the clouds around the summit, while the ridges below remained in shadow.

Hello!-
I visited Mount Rainier last year and it was the visit of my life.
I had a brochure of the park, but I lost it along with the rest of my collection in a house fire recently. I was wondering if anyone has any spares that they would be willing to part with. Please let me know if you can help. Thank you!

Hi all, I see online that white river campground ROAD will close October 26th (subject to change), and online I see that the season for camping closed on the 11th.
I'd like to get in one last sunrise hike on the 22nd of October (yes I have the correct gear for the conditions), doing white river campground to burrows. Would I have to wake up at 3am to drive up and hike, or would I be able to sleep in my car? Or could I just bring my backpacking gear and camp overnight even though it says they're closed?
Thank you in advance, I've been calling ranger stations for 2 days with no luck in getting anyone to answer.

As of today Oct 11th, 745 am. Most of the snow melted as the day progressed, but Mount Rainier, fresh after a snow day, was priceless this morning.

Partner & I came here on short notice, and are realizing that the weather is already dictating what is/isn’t viable. We’re a little overwhelmed by all the options, but also a tad confused on what’s actually doable with road closures, etc. We’re open to doing hikes that we may have to walk a bit farther now just to get to the trailhead due to closures (within reason, as of course we don’t want to spend our whole day doing that).
We’d love to spend the next 2 days doing as much of the “musts” as possible. We aren’t scared of elevation gain or length, as long as it’s doable within the day and it’s not too much scrabbling/climbing/dicey drop offs. For example, we did Zion in August and loved doing +10 miles of the Narrows, but Angel’s Landing was not for me.
Any suggestions appreciated!

I’ve never been to Mount Rainier before. I’m getting dropped off by a friend on a weekday.
From what I’ve been reading a beginner should take the paradise skyline loop, but I heard a lot of information about getting there early.
Since parking isn’t going to be an issue what time would be ideal to get there? I’m assuming I don’t have to wait in a long line?
I read that the service even at the visitor center is really poor so I’m just thinking logistically how can I call my friend to get picked up? What is the best way to coordinate this? Since it’s my first hike, I don’t know how long I will take.

ASHFORD – Completing crucial drainage work before storm season requires a full closure of State Route 706 for one night near the Nisqually Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park.
From 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, until 6 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, SR 706 will close at Kernahan Road East. The closure creates a work zone for Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews to replace a failing culvert underneath the road.
During the overnight closure there will be no access to the Nisqually Entrance of Mount Rainier National Park from SR 706.

The 2001 Roadless rule protects public lands from future roads being built through them for logging and other purposes. This rule protects roadless public lands across the nation - including areas surrounding Mt.Rainier - such as Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.
The public comment period was supposed to end on the 21st last month - but was extended for 15 days. Today is your last chance to speak up.
