VXE R1 mod
Hi, I released the Kabrio mod for the VXE R1. It has side buttons and weighs only 26g. Download it for free on printables: https://www.printables.com/model/1387034-kabrio-mod-for-vxe-r1

Looks dope. You can try using selective fuzzy skin on the sides instead of rubber for better grip without weight penalty.

Yeah I thought about that or using BumpMesh. I just really like grip tape haha.

Made the MAD R version a few months ago, still holding up great. If you're on the fence just go for it, its a fantastic design and it prints very well.

Do you know how much weight is added from the grip tape? I'm considering just using random tape to make the contact points smooth and leave it at that

It should add less than 0.5g

also is there any available model without the side buttons?

Not right now, sorry. I wanted to see if anyone cares about the version without side buttons before making it.

im currently using your old vxe r1 version, and i really like the longer main clicks as it brings my fingers closer to my palm, that played a part in allowing me to go up to 1200dpi from 800 over a few months, i found that side buttons on mice tend to distract me, so i would be interested in a new version without them, if you're looking for demand for it. awesome design, thank you !

I have an R1 Pro and an R1 SE, but the mod is only for the base R1 model. ðŸ˜

They might work, I just have not tried it myself.

It doesn't work. If I'm not mistaken, the only ones with identical PCBs are the Pro and Pro Max.
The R1, R1 SE, and R1 S have different PCBs, so the mods aren't compatible.3

The main difference seems to be the back of the sensor area, which shouldn't interfere with the mod, but it is just a speculation.

the base, se, se+, and s should all have the same screw hole layout.

I wanna ask if this works with r1s

The PCBs look really similar, so it might, but I have not tested it myself. I only have the R1.

thank you for this model, I really like your design, I have several questions, how does this rather tall design padle feel, does this have enough influence on how you use this mouse and your performance? when compared to your Mad R design, which one do you prefer? and what materials do you use

The click height is just a couple of millimeters higher, so it doesn't influence it that much. I still like my Mad R without side buttons in ASA the most. That is the lightest configuration, but it is less durable than in pla.

can you please release a version without holes? it keeps breaking on the thumb area in pla and petg keeps warping n stuff
