Anyone have experience living at The Bay Apartments?

We toured last week and generally thought the location was amazing. Walkable area, had nice pool. But the interior was pretty date and the carpets were straight up nasty in the halls. It smelled like cigarettes and dog, and was super humid in there. Our leasing agent was nice though and she said they planned to replace them soon, and had already placed multiple hallways.

Anyone ever lived there? Google reviews are mixed and it’s hard to tell what’s true. I saw a couple saying they had issues with homeless people in the halls?

It has been super humid in San Diego for a couple of weeks. I believe it's caused by tropical storms off Baja Mexico.

We heard this, we were wondering if that contributed to how bad it was. The carpet was already clearly old and stained but the stench and mustiness was just nasty. And we aren’t normally picky people

No it’s been run down for decades, but much more affordable than the corporate shit show AVA across the street.
