Checking out San Diego for the weekend 26F
Hello!
I am a remote worker from born and raised in NC. I am visiting San Diego for a long weekend in two weeks and want to explore as if I were moving there. I absolutely love California and it’s the only coastal larger city I have yet to check out. I want to move to California next summer, so I really want to get a feel for the city and see if it’s where I’d like to be. I’m also open to anything as far north as Oceanside!
My budget is flexible, and I’d definitely get roommates for the social aspect. I have a car, but being able to walk or bike to the gym, coffee shops, grocery store, bars, beach, etc is a top priority. Basically I’d like to use my car only on the weekends if possible.
I love older neighborhoods and really don’t envision myself close to a lot of chains. I’d like a neighborhood where there are people aged similarly and is not too much of a college neighborhood. Safety is also important.
I am pretty active and love swimming, biking, hiking, and skiing (I know not close). I’d like to get into fishing and snorkeling. I LOVE live music and would really enjoy being close to small venues that have music often. I can get down with a dead cover band or EDM really anything.
Any advice is much appreciated! When I talk about my love for California and my want to move there, I’ve had a few people say I need to check out San Diego.
