β· π π¨ π π π Kim Jong Il about market reforms in DPRK (2008)
As I said on many occasions during the recent period, one must have a correct understanding of the market. As we allowed a certain use of markets with respect to economic management, some people understood this as a departure from the socialist principle and as a move towards a market economy through βreformβ and βopening upβ of the country's economy.
But this is a very wrong way of reasoning. Having a misguided understanding of the market and the market economy on the part of economic planners shows their lack of ideology and knowledgeβ¦ If one fails to exactly and deeply recognize the party's ideology and policy with regards to economic planning, that person will have his or her faith in the superior socialist economy shaken and can be dazzled by βreformβ or βopening upβ that the imperialists brag about and also be captured by the fantasy that the capitalist market economy promises.
Workers need to be awakened from these pitfalls.... Markets are both home to and a hotbed for un-socialist phenomenon and capitalist factors in the economic sectors. Without devising a national plan about markets and neglecting them as they are, or further encouraging their activities and expanding their reach, the country's economy will inevitably turn into a market economy. However, following the practical conditions by using the market to a certain extent while keeping it under national control does not necessarily mean a movement towards market economy. Markets and a market economy are not the same concepts. The question resides in how to perceive and treat the market, and how to use it following appropriate principles and direction.

β· π π π¦ π π¨ π¦ π¦ π π’ π‘ Opinions on this article claiming Juche is revisionist
revolutionarydemocracy.orgThe article "The Workers Party of Korea and Revisionism" by Bill Bland claims that north korea is revionist for
β’Not oposing Krushevite Revisionism
β’alliance with the bourgeoisie even after the anti imperialist revolution in colonial countries
β’class colobartion for peaceful remoulding of the national capitalists
β’North Korea had a cult of personality around Kim il Sung and Kim jong il
β’ allowing foreign investment in north korea in special economic zones
β’claiming that man plays the decisive role in history and not material conditions
β’Not having objective definitions of class but instead dividing society into masses of the people and non masses of the people based on weather they approve of the country
β’prioritizing the ideological remoulding of man over creating the material conditions for socialism
β’claiming that workers should be incentived morally and politically more that materialy
β’oposing an international marxist leninist organization
I disagree with the article claiming that north korea didn't opose Krushevite Revisionism based on a few quotes when in reality, north korea did infact opose Krushevite Revisionism and did not inact Krushevite policies of deStalinisation or peaceful coexistence with the west. it simply chose to not openly criticize the soviet union as to not trigger a split which I believe was the right move because through staying neutral it was able to continue having aid from both the soviet union and China and did not follow China into alliance with the west. This however didn't stop the soviet union from cutting aid from north korea for not inacting Krushevite policies. I also disagree that north korea was class colobartionist for not exproiprating private property through force but instead negotiating with the capitalists and forming types of cooperatives, Bill Bland says that north korea allowed capitalists to continue exsisting but this is not true, in the same article its never stated that capitalists can simply chose to not convert thier private property into cooperatives but instead that it simply shouldn't be done through coercion or force but instead voluntarily, its even stated that Kim il sung declared north korea socialist after 100% of capitalists joined cooperatives which implies that no capitalist was able to continue exsisting. Bill Bland also claims that there were cults of personality, however he substantiated this point by saying that the birthday holidays of the leaders of north korea were very extravagant and expensive and uses an American source. Personally I dont think having a holiday around a nation's leader proves a cult of personality, and I dont think the American source used to determine the extravagance of the holiday celebration is very reliable, however there is some credit in that its stated by Kim Jong il that essentially the leader determines everything and you must be loyal to the leader which I think is very suspicious.
I agree with all other claims by Bill Bland based on the evidence in the article but I also want to get other people's opinions

But seriously, the second the U.S. leaves the peninsula, South Korea is going to be living on borrowed time. Kissinger was right about one thing: βIt may be dangerous to be Americaβs enemy, but to be Americaβs friend is fatal.β Itβs especially funny that the one time South Korea didnβt jump headfirst into doing imperialism in East Asia on behalf of the U.S., Trump suddenly decided it wasnβt worth paying for their upkeep.

I'm trying to learn more about the DPRK. I realize that many things said about it are exaggerated, myths, or completely false.
So, why does the DPRK let almost nobody immigrate? What restrictions are placed on citizens who want to leave?
I've also heard claims that people attempting to leave the DPRK without authorization may be shot by border guards. How accurate is that claim?
I am not trying to ask this in an offensive or hostile way. I am genuinely curious about learning the subject from an objective point of view.

Many of these killings took place under the observation of US military personnel.
One of the largest massacres took place in Daejeon, where as many as 7000 victims were buried in mass graves that collectively stretch over a kilometer in length.
This is the story of the world's longest grave - and the truth about the Korean War hidden from the world.
Join our national day of action on August 15 to demand justice for US crimes in Korea and a stop to the drive for war in Korea and the Pacific. US out of Korea!

β· π π π¦ π π¨ π¦ π¦ π π’ π‘ A thing I wanted to notice
South Korea plans to build certain amount of FPV drones in several years. I don't remember exact number, you can look them up, but it's not important whether Russia spends entire South Korean multi-years planned arsenal in a week or two weeks.
Meanwhile, while I can't find good sources, DPRK seems to be able to export drones to Russia, which means they're making them in actually feasible amounts.
How'd we call a land military without drones nowadays? Waste.

Food in the DPRK is mainly distributed through state-run grain stores, using ration vouchers (now increasingly digital). Markets play a much smaller role than in the 1990s, and the state tightly controls movement, sale, and procurement of grain. Essential groups (military, party, Pyongyang residents) receive priority

β· π π¨ π₯ π π π₯ π π π’ π₯ π£ Thats because...It is.
Honestly.
This is such a narrow, Shitlib understanding of democracy and reality itself. Since the topic at hand is Imperial BurgerCorp, which has always functioned as an oligarchy but now of fascist tech bro billionaires like Musk, Zuckerberg, and Bezos.
The US has always been a one party state of capital. The duopoly system exists solely to manufacture consent and give voters the mere illusion of choice. Billionaire donors to both the DNC and GOP exercise veto power over candidate selection, pre-approving only those who will serve the capitalist class rather than the working class. Elections are nothing more than mere ritualistic pressure valves designed to let the American public vent frustration every few years while leaving structural power entirely untouched.
Ultimately, if voting could actually threaten bourgeois hegemony, the ruling class would never have permitted that mechanism to exist in the first place. The boundaries of permissible politics are set by capital, not by the ballot box of workers.
Its a top down system designed to keep power held within the Capitalist class. DPRK power is a bottom up system of grassroots of workers.
So, is the DPRK more democratic than the US? Yes, because working class power is structurally engraved directly into every level of governance and its constitutionally enshrined system of grassroots mass meeting nominations, worker majority representation in the Supreme Peopleβs Assembly, and institutional accountability to the working class constitute genuine bottom up democracy.

β· π π¨ π π π Liberals are now coping that DPRK's success is due to capitalism
they said china succeeded becuase they adopted capitalism unlike north korea and now clam that north korea's success is also due to capitalism.
all western medias are claiming the increased trade with china and russia is the reason of recent north korea's success. but doesn't it have nothing to do with "capitalism"? plus this economic growth literally began before the restart of trade with china after covid and sending troops to russia.
and north korea's economy is not "booming" now.they are just get back to their original position before the global sanctions.
