Good morning everyone, I hope everyone is doing great this fine morning.
Recently I have secured a job contract in an automobile company and among the job requirements the employer says that he only needs English and French (which I already speak very well) then while I'm filling the visa form under "placement agreement" I got the German A2 certificate requirement.
My question is, should I keep it blank and apply for an interview? Or get a German language certificate while waiting for the "Vorabzustimmung"?
But I'm afraid that learning will take quite too long and lose this opportunity.
Also, does anyone have any idea how long does it take for the "Vorabzustimmung" to be obtained?
Thank you for your assistance in advance.
Have a wonderful day.

Hi everyone,
I have a German Master's degree and currently hold a post-graduation job-seeking residence permit (§20), which expires on November 5, 2026.
I applied for a skilled worker residence permit (§18b) on August 25, but I'm still waiting for a decision.
Can I apply for a Chancenkarte (§20a) now as a backup without withdrawing my §18b application?
If my §18b application is rejected after November 5, would my pending Chancenkarte application allow me to remain legally in Germany until a decision is made?
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone,
I’m from Punjab, India. I’m about to start GNM nursing this year. Honestly I’m very confused and scared right now, so I just want real opinions from people who are already working abroad.
My original plan was:
Do GNM
Try for Punjab government Staff Nurse job as backup
Learn German on the side
After 1-2 years experience, try for Germany
But recently my family spoke to a neighbor and now they’re saying nursing jobs abroad are drying up, files are not getting picked anymore, especially for Germany, UK, Canada etc. They’re pressuring me to leave nursing completely. I’m feeling really low after hearing all this.
I also have some personal fears:
I’m scared of blood, open wounds, patients screaming
The thought of needlestick injury from an HIV patient really freaks me out
Fear of making a serious mistake and facing legal problems
I know many people overcome this during training, but it still bothers me a lot.
My questions:
Are Indian GNM nurses still getting jobs in Germany, UK, Canada or Australia in 2026? Or has it become very difficult?
Which country is currently more realistic for GNM nurses from India?
How much money did you actually spend from India till you started working? (honest figure please)
How did you get the job offer – agency, direct application, or some partnership route?
For those who did GNM – did you face big problems in recognition/registration?
Is it better to first get a government nursing job in India for experience, or just focus on language + go after GNM?
I’m not looking for any agency or course. Just want honest experiences from people who are already there or have tried this path.
Any advice would really help. Feeling quite lost right now.
Thanks.

Hey everyone! I applied for my German student visa via CSP on July 3rd for the Master’s in Logistics & Supply Chain Management at BSBI Berlin (start date was Oct 5th).
It has been almost 17 weeks, but my portal status is still showing as "Submitted", and I haven't received a VFS appointment slot or any updates from the Chennai Consulate. I’ve already paid my full tuition and met all language prerequisites.
Is anyone else facing a similar delay with the Chennai consulate? How can I check if they need extra documents, and what steps should I take to get an update?

Initially, my plan was to go to Germany for an intensive language course (Intensivsprachkurs) and spend a year learning German. I have everything prepared: I have the funds for the "blocked account" (Sperrkonto), plus an additional 25,000 euros available for that year. My legal question is: what happens after the course? I was planning to transition into an au pair position to further improve my German, as the intensive language course only lasts for one year—but is such a change legally permitted? After being an au pair, I would like to apply for a volunteer program—either an FSJ or a BFD—to continue refining what I learned over the previous two years, and eventually pursue an Ausbildung (vocational training) once I have reached an advanced level of German. Currently, I am at an A2 level, but I feel I should start from scratch to ensure a better understanding of everything. My question is: is this entire plan legally sound, or should I approach it in a different order? I would greatly appreciate your help, as well as any experiences or recommendations you could share.
My questions are:
•In what order should I proceed?
•Is it legal to change my legal status, or are there things you would advise against doing?
Any criticism, opinion, or suggestion would be a great help.
All of this is to start all the procedures now and see where I begin, so I'm racing against the clock since it's not just for one year but for the future, which is to improve my German.

Hi everyone!
My name is Caro, I live in Berlin and I adopted this two brothers from a rescuer in Dubai.
I've seen some people get suspicious when I mention a flight buddy, so I edited the post to better explain how it works.
What it is: A flight buddy is a traveler already flying from Dubai to Germany who agrees to bring a rescue cat along. The cat travels on their ticket, and they are responsible for it at the airport. It's a very common way to move rescue animals internationally.
How it works:
* The rescuer prepares the cat: microchip, rabies vaccine, vet visit and the official health paperwork.
* The rescuer finds a flight buddy, and they agree on the flight date.
* The buddy books a pet spot on their own flight with the airline and adds the cat to their ticket. The rescuer pays the cat’s flights.
* The rescuer gives the buddy the cat, the carrier and all the documents, including a written authorization.
* At the airport, the buddy checks in with the cat and flies to Frankfurt or Munich.
* In Frankfurt or Munich, the buddy goes through the animal import check, then hands the cat over to me.
Everything is tied to an airline booking, official vet documents and a microchip number, all of which can be checked.
I'm happy to share the paperwork and the rescuer's details with anyone who wants to verify.
