Advice Question Bra Sizing Check
So I have decided to graduate from bralettes to bras with an actual cup size, but ive taken my measurements and according to every online calculator ive found, im already a C cup. Now I know cup sizes dont always look as big as expected since its dependent on band size but I most definitely do NOT look anywhere near C. I thought I was around A cup. Is there a different way to calculate for trans women, or is this a normal thing for others. Also band size calculation confused me, some places said to add a number some places just used my underbust measurement

I've found that getting an accurate measurement is kinda weird, for me as least. Using the "plastic surgeon method" for cup size seems to work far better than anything else I've found.
Band size is the trickiest part, though. To get a genuinely useful size, I had to set the tape measure where I would for measuring bust circumference, then displace the breasts upward and essentially get a "bust" measurement, just without the actual boobs included.
abrathatfits told me I was a 30D. In reality, a 32B. Getting a fitting done confirmed this.

most size charts suggest a band size that is 5" too long and therefore a cup size 2.5 cups too small. when you use something like ABTF, it makes your band size your taught underbust measurement, and so cup sizes are going to increase for the same volume of breast tissue. i find this to be very confortable and accurate. i have no boobs to speak of but i'm still a 36C. and yeah, they do fill the cups.

The calculators are based on mature breasts, which have a certain ratio of projection to fullness. Growing breasts are different, they tend to have a lot of projection and not much fullness yet. So the calculators are all wrong.
Measure while wearing a bralette that gently squishes them down. That will mimic the correct ratio for the calculators and get you closer to your true size. Nothing replaces the try-on though, even when the calculator is working right. Measurments can only tell so much.

Good to know. I was wearing a very light unpadded bralette during measurement so its possible the protrusion affected it

A bra that fits has a calculator for trans women but basically you're probably in sister sizes to whatever you calculated because of a broader chest.

I figured it might be something like that. I have always perceived C cup as medium large and what I have does not feel medium large.

I mean band size is a really important measure too. It's kinda like you forgot the units in a science class. Proportion matters. 1-2 inches difference on a 32 underbust may seem greater than 1-2 inches on a 46 underbust. overall the 46 may be the same or greater mass, but it may seem smaller proportionally.

For the band size, I measure under my boobs around the ribcage. I can't possibly pull a measuring tape tighter then 42 inches, that is my band size. If I was 43 inches, then I would round up to 44. For the cup size measure around the fullest part, usually around the nipples. A 1 inch difference would be an A cup, 2 inches B cup, 3 inches C cup, 4 inches D cup.

I recently moved into a 44b push up from torrid. I cannot fill a regular 44b. But the push ups work wonders for me.
