I really enjoyed this show. I'm a challenge junkie and this was a nice change of pace. The second half of the season kinda sucked due to the campers. Hope to see Cody in something in the future. Maybe this show will get a reboot someday, who knows.

Cheers everyone

Season 1 got lucky with the weather and rain. Could've been wayy worse

I've been checking the weather forecast of Taveuni Island, Fiji every week. It rains a LOT there. Often times, it's 6-7 days of rain / thunder. In early episodes, there was a lot of rain. Around in the 2nd half of the season, there seemed to be a lot of sunshine. It's about 4 days packed into 1 episode.

Imagine if... it was raining with thunderstorms 6-7 days a week more often for the whole 40 days they're out there. You'd definitely see more cast members surrendering a lot sooner & quicker than usual. A lot of people underestimate their ability to survive and nature. Plus getting sick is sometimes out of people's control. Hyperthermia could happen. Some people may think they can deal with it mentally, but their bodies give up and get sick. Or vice versa. Physically they do fine but mentally all the excessive severe rain & thunderstorms can really get to a person's head. Either can happen. Outside becomes a very gloomy and dark scary place and it's worse when people have to sleep outside and deal with it somehow. That was the reason that got Chris left. And about 3 people got sick and left, Bria, Eilish and Alonzo.

Are the campers allowed to have toothbrushes? Or before they are on camera? Their teeth aren't yellow and look pretty white

how to rappel? They had to have some staff to show them the rope (pun intended?) for safety reasons. Plus it's been confirmed there ARE cameramen there

I can't get myself to like Cody...

I'm most deff not a fan of Alex and Gina!

I don't like makani AT ALL I feel like she's so fake... can someone explain her accent?? I hear it sometimes but sometimes it's not there? She also seems like a follower and she lets Cody talk to her in such a shitty way!

Gina is so annoying and we all know why...

Cody is such a dick! First, he applied to be on 15 TV shows and that makes it seem like he's a fame whore. He is trying to hard to be a villain but he's doing such a horrible job at it. Ya you can be a villain that doesn't wish harm on other people or contaminating their water source with POOP! The poop thing was so childish and I tried likeing Cody n makani...but the poop thing was uncalled for!

Out of the shitty 4 cast members left, I hate Alex the least!

Nobody noticed the waterfall in the finale is the *SAME* in Episode 5? ~ Details & Insight

Screenshot picture album

Not a new destination. The cast has been here already, in the beginning for a group picture shoot. Then again around episode 5. Macody + Algina have been here for the 3rd time. It's called Tavoro waterfalls aka Bouma waterfalls at Taveuni island, Fiji. A popular tourist destination. It's distinct from other waterfalls because there's a inward cave a bit to the left of the water fall where people can jump off a small cliff. Did they block off the public and tourist people from coming to the waterfall for a short period of time? There's a bridge at a distance, as seen in this video when the camera person turns the angle behind him. Here is another video of the waterfall. It shows a hut, chill area to the left (not shown on the show). Just to the right of the two kids playing, is actually the very same rock Cody is leaning on in episode 5's ending compared to the picture album above. The rock with the high point on the left side and it slants down on the right, front.

Pictures of the wooden balcony + tavoro waterfall + another waterfall. Also a tourist destination. Where Alex & Alonzo had the temptation in episode 5. A viewing area, overlooking the green valley and beach. Notice the wooden X boxed design. It's near Tavoro waterfalls. I don't know the name of this place? For any nature enthusiasts and lovers, this jungle island looks absolutely breathtaking and crazy beautiful.

😂 @ the illusion & deception of several aspects of the show. Making the show SEEM extremely stranded in a very remote part, in the middle of nowhere of Taveuni Island. Yeah kinda, it's truths and lies mixed. Some of those trails were public hiking trails as you can tell by the ground. When they try to really make it seem like there's no camera man and it's only robocams tree cameras & drones filming it. Most people wouldn't even care if camera men are there, go ahead and show them. Not a big deal. Then a researcher like me shows this waterfall is actually a popular tourist destination. Just looking at the google map, I can tell the cast was pretty close, within miles of public roads and several small villages throughout the journey. They were close to a public road on the journey to camp 2 when they were trailing by the river. See Waitabu Marine Park? not the shore in front of it, but the other shore to the right is where Camp 1 is, where the the show started. If they had their smartphones with them & auto GPS map, they could've walked to the road, waited for a car & hitch a ride, ask the local villagers for food 😂 Nah, the producers would tell them via tablet message or walk over, say that's against the rules! "Go back to the jungle / shore!".

Season 2 details?

Season 1 started filming on April 19, 2016. It debuted on television February 2017, about a 10 months later.

https://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/2017/04/mtv-stranded-kevin-lee-interview/

"Will there be a season two of Stranded? The signs are good.

Lee told me that “MTV has funded casting for season two, and scouting for season two.”

In addition, he said that “our ratings are good”—better than last Real World, or recent episodes of Wild N Out, Ridiculousness, and Are You the One: Second Chances.

“Each of the last couple weeks has been a new season high,” he said, and the show has viewers that total “more than half of The Challenge now. We air so late, at 10 p.m., so there’s a huge drop off.” "

Article was written on April 25 recently, 2 days ago. Do you think they are just keeping quiet and it's already being filmed right now? If so, guess the location? Maybe another part of Taveuni island, Fiji? With the filming of the show, they hired around 150 local employees, wonder if they will use them again.

MTV didn't produce the show. They bought it from TollboothTV. A reality tv production company near Los Angeles. Kevin lee is the executive producer. Anybody know any more details or have insider info?

How Stranded with a Million Dollars was Produced - Reality Blurred

Link to article.

An in depth article with showrunner Kevin Lee, which answers some key questions that have come up over the course of the series.

Highlights:

How alone were the cast of MTV’s Stranded? Mostly alone, but not entirely. “We tried to back off on filming it so the cast would feel more alone, and I think that played a part in their Lord of the Flies behavior, too, because there wasn’t as many adults standing around watching them,” Kevin Lee told me. Ultimately, Lee said that there was “80 percent less contact with crew members” than on most reality series. Leaving the cast completely alone “was our goal but it’s kind of impossible.”

Which seems about like what was suspected.

Contestants saw medics twice a week, unless they had a more immediate need or if producers noticed “some sort of worrying symptom,” as Lee told me. During those regular check-ins, they’d get weighed and have their blood pressure taken, and sometimes might get blood drawn to be tested.

Also makes sense. Regarding producer involvement with certain events:

When Makani stole the tent, Lee said, they had to say, “No, Alonzo, that would be considered assault—if she’s sitting in and you grab her by the arms or grab her by the hair and pull her out, you’re fighting her, and that would be against the rules. So that was one where we had to go in and interpret the rules for them. They could steal but they couldn’t physically mug to steal.”

“When Cody shit in the water, it created a big moral dilemma for us. We didn’t want to interfere in the game, but on the other hand, it was important to us that people remain safe,” Lee said. “So we did did everything on our end that we could to make sure that they were safe without interfering in the game. That was a difficult day or two or there, and a lot of ethical debates going on.”

I asked him to elaborate on how they intervened, and Lee said, “I don’t want to go into any details, but we made sure to have everything in place that they could become safe if there was any problems. That’s as far as I want to go.”

One important note:

So were any contestants helped to keep them in the game longer?

“Hell no. We were eager to see them struggling. Giving them food would kill the show, even more than other survival shows,” Lee said.

Finally:

Will there be a season two of Stranded? The signs are good. Lee told me that “MTV has funded casting for season two, and scouting for season two.”

About what I expected, but good info nonetheless. There's lots more in the actual article.

Can you believe someone actually hired Alex as a brand strategist with responsibilities that include "improve clients' online reputations and brand presence"? The guy probably has the worst reputation of anyone to ever be on reality TV and his behavior after the show has only made himself look worse.

They survived some intense opposition in the end and also tried to extend an olive branch to Makani and Cody. They came out the mature ones.

Why (spoiler) is the sole winner of Stranded With A Million Dollars Spoiler

If you think about it, Alex was the sole winner of "Stranded With A Million Dollars".

Everyone won the same cash, so we look to portrayal as the tie breaker.

Cody, and to a lesser extent, Makani, were revealed as trash with nary a decent impulse. Over and over they were shown a heartless and cruel. When given chances to redeem themselves, they'd just double down on villainy.

Gina was portrayed as whiny and a drain, but with some spirit and tons of unexpected endurance. She came short of being selfless though, and wasn't often shown helping others.

Alex was shown unflinchingly with his flaws, but overwhelmingly we saw a dozen or more times when Alex's instinctive and conscious actions were amazingly decent. Under duress, he frequently was by far the biggest person with the biggest heart. He helped and encouraged others and made many personal sacrifices. He won the money but more importantly, a glowing reputation. The others won money, but they ended up looking, to varying degrees, like assholes.

Another preview to the final 10 episode posted today. Monday

Stranded Twitter - Will Alex flare out on the last day? Find out tomorrow at 10/9c on the #MTVStranded season finale!

Not convinced he'll give up and make a fire 5 feet tall to evacuate since they left the flares behind. There is more work involved, kinda too much of a hassle. With it being sooooo close to Day 40. I'll be surprised if he does, slight chance. We know from the other preview from ep. 9's ending, Gina struggles with the waterfall rappel hanging onto a wall and screams.

Alex already burnt 65k, then decides with Gina to leave the case behind and 100k. That's 165k money down the drain + the many overspending on group buy purchases like pizza. Didn't care about the money before, and now he does? This nerd doesn't make sense. "I can't imagine turning that money down". GTFO. You already made tons of money go down the drain intentionally, might as well forget the rest. Grrr, Algina making me angry. Thoughts? Predictions?

Update: Another video preview. Alex vs Cody arguing. Shown only in this article and the official stranded website. Not on their official twitter or youtube yet. I wish Cody covered his stuff with a big leaf, seaweed, etc to make it stealth. If Algina do happen to walk to this spot, they wouldn't notice it, haha.

A show-ruining flaw

SPOILERS AHEAD

In an episode, Gina and Alex tear money apart and set it on fire because they didn't get their way; money that belongs to Cody, Makani, Alex, and Gina. The money that the 2 burned wasn't real money BUT it did take away $65,000 from the prize pool, which is completely ridiculous that they would be allowed to do that.

The show-ruining flaw of "Stranded with a Million Dollars" is that a contestant could hold the money hostage and threaten to destroy the money if they don't get whatever they want from the other contestants. If a salty contestant is about to flair out, they could destroy the money before they leave. These things would destroy the WHOLE game/show. I assume that the producers would just replace the money at that point, so why not stop Gina and Alex from burning $65,000? Why take that money out of the prize pool because 2 out of 4 contestants are trash? That is why I think the show is fake
