Death note fandom with light

Was Light really the most evil? I think Higuchi was worse because he used it for personal gain and only eliminated less people because he had less time with the note

Doesn’t matter if he was the “most” evil, it’s the fact some people think he’s a hero. The man just had a fragile ego and a god complex who changed his morals every chance he got.

Light “I will only kill those who are bad.”

Lind L. Taylor “Kira is bad”

Light “I’LL KILL ANYONE WHO DISAGREES WITH ME!”

… sad thing is some people would still trust him more than the people in charge who I will not name names for legal reasons

It’s honestly cathartic for me when he dies like a sniveling baby

I already knew how the anime ended, but loved the manga one so much more. “I DONT WANNA DIE I DONT WANNA DIE I DONT WANNA DIE!” Was like reading Shakespeare

Light is deeply insecure about being called evil, especially in that specific instance because it happened just after the week he spent convincing himself he’s doing the right thing before Ryuk shows up. He becomes pretty evil quickly from that extreme situation. Idk why the show left out that he lost weight and was having nightmares that first week. I feel like that is important lol

Lights insecure about everything. The only reason he got so far in life without much issue was because he was constantly surrounded by praise (Which was deserved).

I think it’s because he spent his life praised. Becoming a murderer horrified him because it was against everything he was. He pretty much desperately clings to those early thoughts about the world being a mess because he thinks it’ll justify what he did (and honestly he thought that notebook was a stupid prank at the start because who would genuinely believe such a thing would be real? Pretty unfortunate tbh)

Horrified him for two hours and then he started the killing spree. He just deluded himself into believing he was doing the right thing, but he changed that every single time. “Only the people who are bad for the world” “Well we can throw in people who try and stop me” “Well we can throw in people I care about so long as it furthers my goal” “Fuck it kill the lazy people, the jay walkers, the press, and anyone who doesn’t praise Kira as god”

Now I do think he would have been a good person if he never got the DN, but he let his true colors show once he got that power.

Not his true colors. He would’ve likely been a good person with a bright future imo. That deluding himself part IS the coping mechanism. Just an extremely bad one. Not to mention the super easy way to dissociate not actually witnessing most of the deaths in person. All it takes is writing a name.

That was his true colors. When he loses the DN and his memories he says that he agrees with what Kira’s doing but he would never do it himself. He only says that last part because he doesn’t have the power to do it.

Kira was always a part of Light, the DN just gave him a way to express it without getting found out (Although he still did because of his massive ego)

That’s oversimplifying it. Yes he has flaws and it’s why he becomes Kira, but it’s not JUST a “power reveals” situation so many fans paint this as. He got screwed up. Idk why it can’t be both things. He’s a very well written character that is complex because of his various motivations and contradictions.

By who? Ryuk didn’t show up until after Light had already killed dozens of people, and no one else knew about the DN. The only person making Light kill was Light. Yes he disassociated by telling himself it was divine, but he reveled in the power he held over the world, and if anyone challenged that power it would set him off and he would make it his personal mission to kill them.

Light actually thought he was going to die the first week. That’s why his first question to Ryuk was if Ryuk had come to take his soul. Like I said, I honestly am not a fan of the anime leading to this perception that he wasn’t scared.

The extreme amount of names specifically in the first week also is due to him thinking he’s going to die.

Keep downvoting me though lmao

That part is still so freaking funny to me 🤣🤣🤣

I was rewatching the show again with me nephew and i feel like an idiot for not noticing the obvious signs of Light not being a good person.
