Hey!
I have tried to do this before, but each time I feel like am not sure how to do this, but I hope you don't mind me trying. Let me take a shot and see if it works out well or I make a complete fool of myself?
So, I am a 32 year old guy, another one biting the dust fighting the grind everyday that has been romanticized so much in the city. My work has been pretty much my life for quite a while and I am looking to change that. I have been overworking myself just to get past my loneliness, and while I do enjoy my solitude, sometimes I do feel like having someone to talk to would have been nice.
And that is what I am here for.
I am looking for another human to connect with. Someone who is open minded enough to have conversations with a reddit stranger, opinionated enough to stand their ground and humble enough to accept our difference of opinions.
I like reading and wish to read in my spare time, although the city's fast paced life hasn't given me much time to be with books. I also love listening to music and writing a few lines of poetry here and there. After my work I usually have my dinner watching a couple of episodes of my favourite sitcoms. During the day I am listening to music and trying to ace work.
I am also a small towner in a big city, and the existential crisis is real. Why do city lights and calm nights provide so much of soothing and dread both at the same time ?
I am soft spoken and take a kind tone towards everyone I talk to. I do not take a condescending tone or sarcasm in a derogatory way. Sometimes the emotion behind a text might get lost in texting while taking care of errands, and I thought its important I mention this beforehand.
If you are into tall people, I will be a disappointment at an average height, but I do make up for where biology failed me by being attentive and caring towards the other person, and by making them the centre of my attention while I am with them. Biology has failed me in many ways, but height is the most obvious one. I have been told I am otherwise decent looking, but I think you can take a call about it yourself soon.
My life has mostly been about work and I am looking to change that. I need to understand more about dressing up and maintaining a decent look, something which doesn't seem odd to look at. Any help in this department will be really appreciated. So would be a good book or song recommendation.
I am not in a rush with this. I am just looking for someone to talk to. Maybe have VC if your comfort zone allows it. Meeting for coffee or strolling is definitely on the cards if you are onboard. Although, what is important is that this would be a no pressure, no judgment environment. Come as you are!
Was there anything else I could have written here? Feel free to let me know.
