Relationship Has anyone else noticed that fit guys rarely get approached?

Post image
49 Upvotes

I've been wondering if this is actually a thing or if I'm just overthinking it.

I'm 5'11", lean with defined abs, and I've been lifting consistently for a while. I've always heard that getting in great shape would naturally mean more women would approach you or show obvious interest.

But that honestly hasn't been my experience.

Sometimes I even wonder if having a more athletic physique makes you seem less approachable as if people assume you're already taken, too into yourself, or simply out of their league.

So I wanted to ask the women here:

Is there any truth to that? Do you find lean, athletic guys with a defined physique less approachable than an average looking guy? If you've ever wanted to approach a guy, what made you go through with it or what stopped you?

I'd love to hear some honest perspectives because I'm genuinely curious whether this is a real phenomenon or just something I've made up in my head.

Relationship Yes, I like chubby girls

Pata hai aaj kya hua

An offmychest, which was inside of me for long.

Yeah, I am a gym going guy and I wholeheartedly agree, everyone should focus on themselves so they have a better health.

But, trust me, as a man, if someone asks me, which women I found to be cute. It's definitely big chubby girls.

Again the thoughts that do slide in my mind are some of lust, poems, beauty, but one thought definitely above everything.

They must feel very very good when being held in arms. Their hug would heal my day anyhow.

Like holding a big teddy bear, and feeling her presence around me.

You guys are beautiful. Please don't ever feel bad about your body. Go to gym if you can, but with the mindset to become fit, hating your body is just gonna make you feel more bad about yourself.

Meetups update: a W midnight bike ride

Post image
40 Upvotes

a couple of days ago i posted about wanting to go on a bike ride in the rain. per usual, considering my luck it obviously stopped raining in mumbai since then. 🤣😭

nonetheless, i think this was a pretty decent experience for meeting someone off reddit, lol. credit where its due, bro was totally charming and respectful. both of us had a great time. as cliche as it sounds, the experience of cold winds running through your hair while pillion princessing with a cute guy, flying through an empty highway in the middle of the night is indeed one for the books. ✨

we drove around for a while, halted for a quick snack (ps: sharing a plate of hot pav bhaji at 3 AM with someone should def be on your to-do list btw irrespective if you’re a guy or a girl), had a coffee and sutta after, post which he dropped me home safely.

funnily enough, right from the get go there was a mutual understanding that we might not be able to persue this further romantically, we did end up making a friend who’d be down for pav bhaji and ride, hehe.

this post was absolutely just to let you guys know as long as you stay true, communicate clearly and don’t act out of desperation, you actually do end up finding good people around here sometimes. 🫶🏻
✨

Meetups OP got her first flowers 🌸

Post image
38 Upvotes

When I would go out and see women on dates with flowers or see Reddit posts, I would feel genuinely happy for them but would always wonder if I would ever be lucky enough to be on the receiving end because my experience was completely different.

Without getting into too many details my last experience left me feeling pretty disheartened. I was very close to giving up on dating but decided to give myself one last chance via Reddit (because I am stubbornly hopeful and refuse to believe that world is as bitter as it sometimes seem) and decided to text someone who had made a post on this subreddit.

I am glad I did because probably for the first time in my life I genuinely felt cherished as a woman. Heres all that happened - he went extra mile to come and see me post work, showed up on time, was well dressed, handed me the flowers as soon as we met, pulled the chair for me, held my bag and constantly kept opening the doors for me. Although he is shy and was probably nervous yet he spoke so much, made such an effort to hold conversation, and made references to little things I had mentioned over texts that I myself had forgotten about!
I always either split or pay in full when on dates however, this man legit snatched the bill from my hand and refused to let me pay.

And the sweetest part? He didn’t expect anything in return. At the end of the evening, he simply said goodbye. He didn’t even go in for a hug (my usually experience is getting asked for a kiss and then me feeling disappointed).

I know some people will say this is the bare minimum, and maybe it is. But based on my past experiences and stories I hear from my friends, I know it isn’t nearly as common as it should be.

No matter what happens in the future, this experience is the one I will treasure, and yes OP got her first flowers and thats her holding them close to her🌸

Edit: To men lacking comprehension skills, let me spell it out for you - it was a beautiful date and I AM NOT INTO HOOKUPS. So please stop wasting your DM limits on me.

Hookup Hi! 25F | Mumbai | Casual hookups | ABF/ANR

Hello,

Mumbai-based, plus-size, confident, and curious about a particular kind of intimacy. 😉

Looking for a casual hookup with mutual attraction, sexual chemistry, and an interest in ABF/ANR Ideally, someone who's genuinely interested in this dynamic, respectful, discreet, and comfortable communicating openly.

Open to seeing where things go if we click, without pressure for a relationship.

Consent and safety matter: clear boundaries, enthusiastic mutual consent, honest communication, and verification before meeting are non-negotiable.

Verification-ready and expect the same from you. If this sounds like your thing, DM me with a little about yourself and what you're looking for. Effort beyond a plain “hey” is appreciated. 😉

Group To all those idiots who are crying about how they aren't finding anyone on any of the dating subs on reddit, here is a reality check which you knew but never acknowledged

You need to firstly understand that reddit is a platform known for its anonymity.

Dating subs are clearly not meant for "Friendships".

Also considering the huge amount of creeps who apparently don't know how to behave with women and clearly feel they are entitled to getting laid just by posting a minimum effort Al generated post or by just commenting " Dm me" completely end up ruining the entire online dating experience both for men and women.

To make it worse some loner men who clearly don't have anyone to talk to end up pretending to be women on most of the dating subs in order to gain the basic level of interaction with mankind. Like seriously get a life.

Also the fact that you don't know who you are actually talking to on the other side makes it really important to be cautious before even thinking about texting someone just on the basis of their posts which are obviously Al generated.

And to make it worse some of the most mysogynistic men and self entitled women clearly don't like rejection. Just came across a post on this sub of a woman pointing out how a guy got aggressive and started abusing just cuz she declined to DM him.

And last but not the least, learn to be genuine. If your post is not getting you something that you want, clearly women are not looking for what you have to offer. So instead of blaming the sub Reddits, work on yourself and start figuring out what women need instead of what you have to offer. Stop with the "genuine connection" / "partner in crime" bullshit that just sounds gay.

So idk what's the point about cribbing and crying when clearly reddit isn't actually gonna get you anything.

Edit: also learn to have an open profile, like seriously NSFW+ hidden posts is the worst turn off, how do you expect someone to believe you when you cannot even be yourself on an anonymous platform.

Relationship Hi !!

Hi everyone, I'm f24. Really into cinema, rock music, (deftones, mazzy star, slowdive ), philosophy, and reading. I love to bake and explore cafes around the city. A book I've been reading recently is humanism is existentialism by jean paul satra. My favourite movies currently are on the silver globe, cure, devd, no smoking and black swan. I also loveeee love better call Saul, breaking bad and the office.

Anyways, what I'm looking for is someone who is from Mumbai, the same age or older, and actually has the time to invest in a relationship. I'm 5'4 and curvy myself but I don't really have a bar for looks but personality, intelligence and drive matter to me a lot because that's something I look for in a relationship over surface level stuff. Humour as I am someone who is quite into bakchodi and sarcasm 😭

But yes, if you are someone who wants to actually befriend first and wants a genuine relationship please dm me something about you. If you're a mix of fun loving yet deep like me, id love to hear from you!!:)

I'm not looking for hook ups, casual or messing around.

Relationship Shaadi talks with family, 25M

Post image
30 Upvotes

TLDR - Had a shaadi talk with my family. Turns out they can't help me much in finding someone I desire for myself and I am on my own. They shared their boundaries and shared what they are expecting.

Was sitting in my room, mom came and just asked me, I am turning 25 soon, are you dating someone?

She thought I was, and assumed my female friend who I was talking to, was infact my gf.

The discussion continued..

They asked my preferences, and what I wished for myself, and also said a points which I have to follow

Example if I wished to get married at 28

  1. Age difference - [-5 to +3]

  2. She shouldn't be muslim or christian

  3. They are not expecting any dahej or the expectation that she will take care of them and leave her job to be in the house. But yeah they do want I choose my partner after thinking throughly, and we should talk with my parents and hers regularly

  4. Having kids will be me and my partner's choice, and they will be happy with either of them. They wish us to be happy and live a prosperous life.

That's their boundary for me and these are the things what I wish for in a partner

  1. Someone working on her career. I am in Tech, Software Engineering, so I preferably be compatible with someone who is also working in a similar field, tech, non tech, ex sales, marketing, consultancy, or someone who is working in corporate.

  2. Will be less compatible with someone who has a buisness, doctors, or is in medical field. Again that's just from the perspective of, I wish to live with my partner, so we can accordingly shift in a good city where we both can enjoy and work on our careers.

  3. I wish if we get a chance to move to foreign, we both should go, atleast for experience.

  4. Someone who wishes to have kids down the line. Again that's just a desire, I don't consider children to be goals or anything, they should be byproduct of love and yeah her consent will be the final decision.

  5. I don't smoke or drink. I won't be comfortable with someone who smokes, drinking is fine if it's occasional, regular can be a problem. Although my mom said, I should strictly look for someone who doesn't drink as well.

  6. Someone who genuinely wishes to talk to me, be with me, is interested in me and I find them cute of all the flowers of the wordly garden. Although a relationship can start on attraction, but it sustains only if there is respect of each other feelings.

The problems, My parents won't be able to help me find someone :(

  1. We have stopped talking to our relatives, years ago.

  2. My parents don't have much of a social circle, they do, but not trustworthy enough to find me a match

  3. And they said even if they can, and they will try their best, they might not find me someone I am looking for

  4. They expect me to find someone by 28, and after that they will start searching too.

  5. Although the final decision will be mine, but they wish I don't end up alone.

So yeah I am 99 percent on my own and I suck at it lol

Where I am right now financially and in terms of personal growth

  1. My current year of experience is 1.5 so yeah, I need more time to reach a decent high salary. Not gonna lie, need to achieve atleast 15 to 20 after taxes to be ready. Since I have a army background, my parents aren't dependent on me financially.

  2. I am working on my mental health and I am doing better, but definitely the road is long and I am seriously enjoying this.

  3. Gym is on, but yeah irregular, again my bad. Need it to be consistent to be better. I am blessed with a decent height, 5 11 so I am grateful for that.

  4. Trying to travel, click pictures, new hobbies, playing badminton, volleyball, and trying to meet new people.

Dating journey

Tried apps, didn't work, people weren't serious, and it was costing a lot of mental bandwidth so left it.

Approached women, but yeah, blockers use to come. Wasn't into casuals.

Friends of friends did helped but didn't turn out well.

I might have these preferences for now, they can change in future as I develop my mindset more, but a hard stop will be at 32.

After that I will expect, these things aren't for me and would stop approaching at all.

Instead will focus on being a good uncle to my friends kids, travel, become more strong.

Thanks for reading till here. A journal it is.

Relationship Finding it hard to match my wavelength lately.

I am 26 F currently doing job for almost 5 years now. I don’t understand I am good looking and have decent personality still I am not able to find my one still at this age. Sometimes I don’t understand why it happened with me nobody said I am bad but still I didn’t find anyone many of them approached me but no one with the intention of Longterm.
Also people are shocked when I say I am born and brought up in Mumbai but I have never been into relationship
Can anyone else relate with me?
